This was one of the first series of Power Rangers I saw. It forever has a special place in my heart. Not only was it amazing, but it was emotional and rather dark; I've yet to see another Power Ranger series kill off a Ranger. It wasn't spruced up, sugar coated or 'fluffy', it was real, gritty and edgy. Kids need to see shows like this, instead of the bright and always-cheery shows that leave a false sense of perfection in the world.

My grandma hated this show, because she thought it was violent and led kids to doing stunts that would hurt them. Of course this is despite the fact that most kids who watched this knew they could not do those stunts themselves because they lacked morphers to become power rangers.

fun fact: the magna defender's morpher is actually a replica of a sentai morpher. If I'm not mistaken it's either the sentai for Time Force or Lost Galaxy

@DeathGodRiku It's neither, its from Dairanger. Fun fact: footage from Dairanger was used in season 2 of MMPR for the zords, monsters of the week and the white ranger. The costumes for that sentai series was not used because Saban did not want to get rid of the Dinosaur costumes since most kids are used to them. The Dairanger costumes were more Asian oriented which doesn't go well with children in the western audience.

Karone was so much better than Kendrix in my opinion!!! I thought Kendrix was too boring. Karone was perfect for the part of the pink ranger and should have had the role from the start! Although I am glad that the actress who played Kendrix made a full recovery from her illness.
