Great song from my chilhood. This movie was very famous in the former Soviet Union. The whole movie was shown on Uzbekistan's State TV in the winter of 1973 in Uzbek!!! Up to 1977 every Bollywood movie bought by the USSR, was dubbed into Uzbek and they were very very famous. Then the Soviet government banned dubbing into Uzbek and other languages spoken in the country the movies imported from the non-socialist countries.
Dear All, All these years i had wondered, how would have Menaka and other Apsaras (Angels) of Swarg(Heaven) would be looking like? Now , I got the answer. Watch the step at Min.3.15 to 3.22. My GD MY GOD. What a beauty. Where is Saroj Khan? Any jawab? La- jawab, out of this world, mind blowing God bless Rajshree ji, the most beautiful woman ever born on this PLANET. I Adore her, no words , every time i see this song, i go into a magical spell for days together. i Salute Her and GOD-DR.RKSHARMA
Among the "newer" crowd, there are extremely few really "born" sort of dancers. Meenakshi Sheshadri, Madhuri, Rani Mukherjee and Shilpa Shetty (believe it or not).
But especially Saira Bano, Rekha and Madhuri are just way ahead of everyone else! I would just LOVE to interview these ladies about their personal dance journeys myself.
Shaam, aap ka tah-e-dil se shukria for posting this! I love this film! I´m trying to find out who choreographed for this movie and also, what dances did Rajshri actually learn? She was a brilliant dancer and I´ve always wondered more about her but the info on Wiki is very limiting.
There are a couple of extra magical dancers in old time Bollywood and I would so LOVE to know more about their dance training. Those are: Waheeda Rehman, Saira Bano and Rekha.
The beauty of this song can not be described in words!!! this is just ethereal..one of my all time favourite song..everything about this song is just so special!! lyrics, Ramlal's composition, Rajshri's dance!! everything..and what can i say about Kishori's singing whom I always took Asha ji. She has really excelled.!!!
what a nice song !
It is mystical. this is almost cosmic. This song never fails to give me goosebumps.....
Wow, you praised everyone for this beautiful song--expect the lyricist Hasrat Jaipuri, without whom there would have been noting to sing, nothing to compose, and nothing to act.l Major oversight!
Composer Ramlal and singer Kishori Amonkar both too good. Rajashri brought the fashion of putting a stone in the navel and later it was followed by Babita in Farz. This was Jitendra's first film and Farz the second which changed his image totally.
Simply a memorable classic for which I have no words that can describe it.
