  • I could knit pick lill things about his form but he could prob watch my vids rowing 405 and 455 and find something wrong. A lill to much legs for me but pretty good form and better than 99.999% of those using anything over 3 bills. My forms better though...;-)

  • theres definately a fine point in using heavy weight and simply exercising your ego. ego is when you lift weights to show off to all the others in the gym. "look at me, look how strong I am." then there are those that need to lift heavy or heavy compared to everyone else, to get results. but remember, a back exercise has to work your back or you won't get results. whatever works for that person.

  • First 2 reps on both sets were good, im not saying form is everything, but Im pretty sure severely rocking back and forth is not better than lower weight with good form. When you rock back and forth, youre putting the strain on other muscles and using momentum. Not trying to bash, I cant even deadlift this let alone row.

  • I was less happy with the 2nd set. Having experienced back injury, I am very sensitive to any sort of rounding of the spine.

    But your first set was excellent (and 400 lbs is a beastly weight). I have no problems whatsoever with your form on the first set, and am very impressed.

  • @Mongoelg Perfect form is kinda silly because in order to have it, you have to do many reps which burns many calories. I do think that if you can't do a certain weight because it puts too much strain on your joints or what not than it is definitely ok to lower the weight.

  • It's funny because I've watched alot of pro lifting videos and 1/2 the time you see them swinging the weight, using momentum, etc. I'm not saying it's right but I think there is a greater margin for error when your that big and using that much weight. -For me personally, I'm a stickler for strict from, but I'm also only 5'10" and 180 lbs. Funny how guys will talk smack about this guys form on a vid., but would never say anything to his face if they were next to him in the gym!

They actually use explosive movements (not pefect contolled form) wich builds FUNCTIONAL strength/power. Alot use sum strongman type movemnts too(guy in this vid is a strongman)Btw, alot of guys in MMA have physiques which look more like bodybuilders than most guys u see in a gym too. Guess your MA knowlege is as poor as yr knowledge on how 2 build functional explosive strength/power.
