I prefer the video game names for the Koopalings, but I prefer their cartoon personalities.

(I really like Ludwig Von's personality, I like how smart he is in the cartoon)

But I noticed that the creators gave different names for the cartoon series only in the original English Version.

In French Version for example, they kept their video game names.

I first saw the show on dvd with the cartoon names but then people where calling them wendy roy and all the other names and I said those aren't the names but then I found out that those where the other names but I call them the carton names

Some people combine both names like calling them Morton Big Mouth Koopa Jr or Wendy Kootie Pie O Koopa. I did see the cartoon first on September 08, 1990 along with Captain N and The Game Master on NBC before I played the game on December 25, 1990.

I tend to prefer the names from the games, but the personalities from the cartoons. For example, I say the first battle is against Larry. But instead of him being the sporty/bratty youngster of the bunch, I see him as the big greedy sneak.

This does lead to the cartoon names becoming nicknames of sort, but I generally just refer to them by their original names.

I prefer video game names because I don't have that kind of channel. Sometimes I watch the cartoon on YouTube, but it's very hard to find the cartoons on YouTube. I have lots of video games. : 3

I never really got to see the smb3 toon that much. I did however spend a lot of time with Super Mario Worlds Instruction booklet, where their proper names appear. I actually only have a preference for Iggy (sounds cool/associated with crazy Iggy from the film) and Ludwig Von Koopa because I totally caught the beethoven joke with the hair. Other than that, I don't mind either way. I like the idea of cartoon names being their nickname and middle names. Either way, Im happy to see them in NMBs.
