This could have been a really great series if it wasn't so silly. I mean. Goten dating? Okay. It was hinted at the end of DBZ that he was dating, but they didn't have to make that his WHOLE life. Him and Trunks were inseperable in Z. Now they only talk for one episode on GT. I mean, if they had fused, that would have made up for how lame they were. Bringing 17 back was cool, until they did the whole stupid 2 android 17 thing. I would have liked to see normal 17 reunite with 18. UUGH. this series
I remember I was like 19 years old and Dragon Ball Z in the U.S. was still in the Majin Boo saga and then I went to Mexico for vacations and they had re-runs of Dragon Ball GT and they were showing when Goku fought Bebi-Vegeta..... it was epic

Dragon Ball Z was the end but they decide that wanted more...so the creators of dbz were forced to make DBGT was made for some reason that everyone doesnt fight like they used to, only Goku fights in SSJ4 form, and Vegeta ssj4 form was design to be that way

Akira Toriyama stated that the dragonball z series is being continued and gt will be erased from the actual series because it wasnt actually part of the original manga. With this continuation from the end of dbz, we could see how gohan was so supposed to be interpreted in toriyama's vision of him being the strongest non-fused character in the series, not goku. Though this wont be for a while, just wait. Hopefully he'll be shown as hero
@oneverycoolguy just look up toriyama's most recent interview. though its in japanese, translators interpret that he does state that new manga for dbz is coming out. it is the reason why kai has been created, to rebuild dragonball z's fan-base and introduce it to a younger generation. This new manga will soon be produced into an anime which will see within the next 3 years.

GT had some great ideas, character designs, and a phenomenal soundtrack, but Goku is pretty much the only relevant character in all of GT; Goku wasn't even the strongest fighter at the end of Z (Gohan was), and Goten, Trunks, Piccolo and Vegeta were still somewhat relevant. They're all completely useless in GT, hell Piccolo only shows up in two or three scenes total.

Probabvly because they weren't NEARLY as passionate about fighting tough opponents and fighting to become the strongest, like Goku and Vegeta had. Goku and Vegeta had TRUE fighting spirits. @radien239 trunks now owns capsle corp. but he was mainly with goku & pan searching for the dragonballs idk what happened with gohan but goten satrted dating n became less of a fighter but both gohan n goten were infected with baby when he came to earth and they both fought goku

@fezkid1 actually its safe to say that vegeta could have gone ssj3 at the time of omega shenron if he had the power to go ssj4.Even bumla states he had been training like crazy.All the blutz waves did was turn him into a monkey it did not give him any extra power. So sad when people misinterpret this.

GT had some great ideas, character designs, and a phenomenal soundtrack, but Goku is pretty much the only relevant character in all of GT; Goku wasn't even the strongest fighter at the end of Z (Gohan was), and Goten, Trunks, Piccolo and Vegeta were still somewhat relevant. They're all completely useless in GT, hell Piccolo only shows up in two or three scenes total.

Here are 5 things that could have made Dragon Ball GT:
1) When Goku learns how to become Super Saiyan 4, he should become an adult again.
2) Pan should have become a Super Saiyan. There was no reason for her NOT to.
3) The return of Gotenks. Trunks and Goten should have become a SSJ4 Adult Gotenks.
4) Why are Gohan and Majuub so pathetic and weak? Make them useful!
5) Why is Goku happy in the end? Everyone he knew and loved died, because he had to re-grow up and they all got old and died.

Honestly, they should have left him dead during Majin Buu during DBZ and pass the damn torch. But no, there were too many complaints from fans that "We want Goku to save the day!" while stamping their feet and throwing a hissy fit.

2. Actually she shouldn't, she's only...what, a quarter saiyan blood? It wouldn't make sense.
3. I think an adult Gotenks would have been cool, but not SSJ4. Even Vegeta could only be SSJ4 through science, and Goku was only SSJ4 through a loophole.
4. Gohan settled down and had a family for several years, he got rusty. As for Majuub, I didn't think he was all that weak.
5. I don't even know how to answer this.

@CCrockyourass Oh contraire, my friend. Pan should have been able to become a super saiyan. Sure, she's only 1/4 Saiyan, but as long as there is saiyan blood in her, she is not restricted to the saiyan rights.
For example, have you seen "Dragon Ball GT: A Hero's Legacy"? It takes place mafter DBGT and the main character is Pan's grandson, who is also Goku's great great grandson. His name is Goku Jr. He's only ONE SIXTEENTH of a saiyan. Nevertheless, he becomes a super saiyan in the movie.

@DevilRebellion This isn't about making GT "better" this is about making it more in-line with DB and DBZ.
By doing that, A Hero's Legacy doesn't exist (And neither do Goku/Vegeta Jr for that matter, that's just dumb) and Pan never becomes a SSJ.
And even if we DO say that Hero's Legacy is canon, fine then: Pan isn't a SSJ because she's a girl. Happy?

And although there were female saiyan warriors, the legendary SSJ was most likely MEANT to be a male.

@CCrockyourass Well, the main reason I don't consider DBGT canon wasn't because of the plot holes. The REAL reason I don't consider it canon is because Akira Toriyama didn't play the same role in the making of DBGT like he had in DB and DBZ. He is the true mastermind behind the first 2 series. the good ones. And since he had little-to-no contribution with DBGT, that's why it sucked and most likely does not take canon.

And Pan, being only a quarter saiyan, could barely make energy blasts (Or at least I think she did). Even if a girl could be SSJ, Pan couldn't because her saiyan power is so weak. And yet, Goku Jr is only 1/16th saiyan, and happens to look exactly like Goku and turn SSJ. It doesn't add up, and Toei animation pulled it out of their asses.

@CCrockyourass To be honest, Trunks and Goten both had potential to become the universe's strongest warriors. I read in DBZ guides that because they are half-human/half-saiyans, its as if they are a newly evolved species with so much more potential. And yet, they seem to let it go to waste. Probabvly because they weren't NEARLY as passionate about fighting tough opponents and fighting to become the strongest, like Goku and Vegeta had. Goku and Vegeta had TRUE fighting spirits. I respect that.

1) It was part of the main theme, being a kid again, and learning that there are some things we can't change, kinda strange since it normally should be about growing up and not being a kid again, not vice versa, but that's the magic in this.
2)Not a reason,but I don't think that would have been good, remember, she wasn't as strong as Trunks or Goku since she didn't train that much at her age, kind of how Goten was weak for lack of training in GT

And yes, I am well aware that only pure saiyans can become SSJ4. Some say that an SSJ4 is the "true" super saiyan, because it shares several primeape traits of which Saiyan background is known for. Example: The tail and the coat of fur.

my 9 year old bro made that comment, but a girl can turn into super saiyans, but the creator didnt know how to draw a super saiyan chick so he never did. Also, technically ssj 4 aint in the manga, being only an anime thing. also, it is hinted any super saiyan that can turn into a golden great ape can turn into a super saiyan, with gohan, goten, trunks, or pan turning into one, never getting the chance, with vegeta only turning into it in an artificial way.

@HepaGhee no, I think it is for everyone that is 1/4 saiyan. If Pan was a man, he couldn't transform into SSJ either. For instance, if Trunks have a son, the kid wouldn't be able to SSJ. Because Trunks is half-saiyan, and the child would be 1/4 saiyan.
