  • I went to school with Danny at Westchester High School. He picked me in Drama class to play the lead of "The Sundance Kid" to his "Butch Cassidy". He showed up with the script, directed it and we scored an "A" in the class...He always tried to get me go up to the studio where the doors recorded, but I never went... good guy... sorry to see he died...would have liked to re-establish with him...

  • same here..I am so glad Danny wrote the books and did a couple interviews..Jim was always painted in such a dark light, it is nice to see and know that was not him, at least not 24/7 like a lot of ppl believe..I wish I could see more of this interview..

  • he also banged Jim's Pam...

and supposedly Pam freaked out when she woke up

I think it was a way for both of them geting close to Jim, being with someone else who loved Jim so much..~

  • I'm reading the book now.

  • @homerekker well have u reached the end by now?

  • This book is fantastic! I love Danny Sugerman!

  • I have a signed copy of the book. I met him in HMV oxford street london.

  • Met him at the Whiskey in West Hollywood b/f Wonderland came out, and we talked about Morrison and his new book at the bar.

  • Rest in peace, Danny.

  • wonderland avenue is de best book ever

  • Robbie Krieger said once that Jim Morrison had that special quiality to make everyone feel he was his best friend..

  • He supposedly didnt know him as well as he's made it out to be. There are other books and sources that have confirmed alot of mistakes in "No One Here Gets Out Alive" and a number of things that simply, no person knew about; they couldnt have. There is no one bio that is completely accurate, all of them contain errors.

  • Dannys life was interesting also..

Wonderland Avenue is a great book for those who want to look at the dark side of the music industry in the 70s..

Danny was a survivor on the fast lane..

  • Danny's life was very interesting, youre right. The problem with alot of what's been purported by him is that he was some confidante of Jim's,he really wasnt, and alot of "No One Here Gets Out Alive" was 2nd-hand information, rumored to have been passed along by Ray Manzarek.Alot of the Jim Morrison 'myths' were started and furthered with the book; it made for great press, but it wasnt who Jim was exactly. A brilliant and complex poet/writer is not as profitable as a crazy rockstar.

  • great book ,ie, life

    R:I:P

  • "Everything in the book is true?" Liar!

"Jim was never on a death trip?" HA! HA! HA! Now that's a bit hard for someone who had a mission related to death. In Jim's own words: "for me it was never a performance, it was a life & death thing" / "I would like something that hasn't happen before like for example to conquer death" - in salli stevenson interview 1970.

  • Well I've got news for you, my life's been an emotional turmoil, I never knew what it's like to have a family, my parents don't love me & this is a too much heavy karma, let alone all the rest. I am victim nº 1 of your lies & myth making but on one thing my Spirit succeeded: I conquered death. For the last 7 years I've done nada but alerting the people for the ways of the Law; the wheel of life & death.

  • But very few read or listen to what I have say, and the lot many call me mentally ill just because I believe different. I wonder if Gandhi, John Lennon and others who believe the same as me, are also mentally ill.

You knew that Jim didn't want to be associated with rock n' roll, but literature - that's what that grave in Paris means. And because you knew this but still feed the shit (I give here to take there), you felt the need to compensate Jim for your betrayal.

  • The poetry was cleverly used as an excuse to keep feeding an image that Jim quit, instead of helping to build a new image which is what he died for.But you resurrected the rock teenage idol in almost every "Best of" cover. You and Ray are those responsible for turning Jim's heart into chaos when he died exactly to get back some order. You have lied to the fans for years.

  • "The holy trinity of drugs & rock n' roll & sex was alive & well"?

That's all you ever cared for while you lived! Danny the myth maker & ultimately Jim's traitor because from what I've heard it was through Danny that they hired Ian Astbury. You spent all your life living on the shadow of a man & suddenly after 34 years you crap on it all. I tell you this, when you take away a man's death you take away his dignity.

Now it's all over 4 Jim & Danny, both of them know what their mistakes were.

  • Brett Scallions should make you glad for Ian Astbury.

  • You can say that again

  • it IS a very good book.
