Your probably too young to remember the 80's, when UK rappers imitated the American accent (horrendously) under the impression that the British accent was unsuitable for rapping. 20 years later we invented grime.

In the same way welsh rappers are trying to emulate the London based MCs, in reality there is no reason why they can't rap the way they speak and make use of their unique dialect and pronunciation.
