  • Hey I bought this glider g1 capo and I'm having a hard time sliding it! Why :((

  • @SituazianX I will answer this for Jon :) hehe think he have enough comments to reply on.

Sins you just bought it and its new they are a litle hard in beginning to slide until they have been used for a while. As the capo will loosen up so will you skills in using it become better. Trust me just keep on trying and keep work on just this part. Just sit and slide you capo back and forth. You will learn the technique (if i spelled that correct.) Best of luck!

  • @LillaMartin thanks! Great answer

Also, don't leave the capo on whenever you're not playing. The strings will dig grooves, and it'll be even harder to slide out of the grooves

  • Hey thx so much for lesson! You play very very well. I was wondering, do i have to do caposlide, cause i dont have that sliding capo. Does it sound awful without it?

  • @NiisQHMO Thank you! You don't "have" to do the capo slide. It won't sound awful without it, but you might want to play the part after the capo slide a bit differently to add a bit of variety

  • @SimplyLuo thx for answer! I'm trying to figure something out^^

  • ur are great!! can u make a lesson 'when the children cry by white lion'?

  • @bunzyie Whoa that's a good song. I haven't heard it before, thanks! Maybe I'll try to arrange it sometime...

  • 3:05...

  • @SimplyLuo i dont get it either. But Jon youe been inactive for to long now. Uppload a song!!!

  • @LillaMartin I knoooow :(

College is killing my free time... I'll try over spring break

  • @SimplyLuo i just covered Martin Tallstroms arr of The Rose! Would love to hear what you think about it! :)

What i need to improve etc.

    Thanks in advance!

Keep it up with more tutorials! Some Andy Mckee songs or Erik Mongrain would be great! ;)

  • Really nice tutorial:) Keep it up man!

  • hey simpleLuo great video but problem is the slide part I ONLY HAVE A NORMAL CAPO SO I CANT DO THE SLIDE any suggestions ? It seems that you modulate? in that part ?

  • One think I want to know is that how are you producing so much sound in a steel string. I'm learning this arrangement at the moment, but whenever i play the guitar acoustically the volume produced is too low to record on a camcorder. Any advice?

  • @EvilSapphireR You could try boosting the audio when you edit the video. I had to do that at some points since mic signal going into the camcorder is pretty quiet. Which camcorder are you recording with?

  • @SimplyLuo I was thinking of plugging my guitar into an amplifier and sound box to get the sound and then recording it with a sony handycam. But thing is,I don't really have an amplifier arrangement in my home so that'd mean I need to go to a friend's place to record the song. Which sucks coz recording is something you'd want to do in the comfort of your own home. Do you think recording it directly into computer using audacity would be a good idea?

  • Do you really need a capo to play this ?

  • @DAANIEL1997 You can definitely play it without a capo! It would just be in a different key, and you won't be able to do the key change in the same way.

  • @SimplyLuo Thanks ! But what do you mean with a different key and won't be able to do the key change in the same way ? Do you mean that it will sound different if I dont have a capo ?

  • @DAANIEL1997 It will be lower

  • @SimplyLuo Thanks !

  • @DAANIEL1997 In the arrangement there is a part where the capo slide upwards. go and watch the song played by Sungha. u wil understand. Otherwise u can simply play in open string but it will be lower key.

  • @fredgoh Thanks !

  • @DAANIEL1997 you can play it without a capo and without changing the key. being a player that has never been a fan of capos i can tell you that. the only thing is that you need to make sure you find the right tab. the arrangement will be different but still the same exact notes. many great players actually prefer to not use capos as they limit the fretboard. now that being said songs where you see ppl use capos are usually easier with the capo.

  • @DragonForce191 Thanks !

  • You did an amazing job dude!

  • Hm.. I don't know how to tune :/

  • Hey guy, whats up, are you asian? well, The guitar that u use in this vid, it is a classical guitar, how much did it cost? Thanks, this vid helped me a lot

  • @10pkmn Yeah, I'm Asian...

It's not a classical guitar. It's a steel string Martin 000X1, pretty cheap

  • @SimplyLuo OMG, I asked it in a shop and he told me that it cost 500dollars aproximately, Is it a deal MAN?

  • @10pkmn If you like it, it's a deal :)

  • So I tuned it to DADGAD and I am pretty sure that I did it right (when I compare the strings, it sounds fine). However as soon as I put the capo on and play the first few notes, the low D and high D both sound off (like they are too high). This only happens when I play them open though...any suggestions? the rest of the strings sound normal with capo

    Thanks!

  • @almo611 Hmm... How off are they? Just slightly sharp? It could be that the capo is just pulling them slightly out of tune, which is pretty common. I fine-tune after putting a capo on all the time. Try giving them a tug to release extra tension that the capo might be causing. Try fretting the third fret with your finger and see if it's still out of tune. If it is, then you might have an intonation problem and should take your guitar to a tech.

    Jon

  • @SimplyLuo Oooopsss. I realized that the tab is relative to the capo, not the nut. Sorry, noob mistake. Great tutorial and playing!! thanks! :)

  • @almo611 Ah, that would do it. This is an important thing to know about tabs, folks! haha

  • Thanks sungha I was looking for a good video to learn this song.and this is it. Now I just need a slider capo :)

  • @derekalen486 I'm not sungha -_-'

haha glad it could help you though.

  • thank you dude ! you helped me alot !

  • cual es la afinacion?

  • darn i need to buy a Tuner to use the DADGAD tuning LOL

  • no te entiendo nada no la podrias aser en español =)

  • Thanks bro.

  • thanks you re good teacher

  • thanks you re good teacher

  • dude i have your guitar.. or you have mine...

  • This is very nice. just like you, I am self-taught and your songs will be on my 'have to play' list :)

  • @Adrnjnto15 you can do a capo just using a pencil and two rubberbands

  • You play that weird I find it way easier to just move my fingers in stead of playing a ton of cords I'm going to make a video soon

  • What strings do u use on ur martin?

  • Comment removed

  • @MrTheCopeland ?? if you want to hear the song then go watch my recording of the song, not the lesson video. wow.

  • @MrTheCopeland your a fucking prick, and a retard.

  • hate the tuning

  • @SimplyLuo OK, I managed to tune my guitar to DADGAD, so I just thought if it's possible to finetune with harmonics.

  • Oh your guitar sounds really nice XD

Is that an ordinary acoustic guitar or a custom-made one?

Actually, I'm looking for a steel-string guitar for solo and fingerstyle playing, ordinary acoustic guitar's neck seems to be too small that I feel uncomfortable playing it :( haven't found one :(

  • @MrBoyAlo Ordinary! It's a Martin 000X1. I'm pretty sure it's the cheapest full-size guitar they make. Are the necks too thin or too narrow? If narrow, look for ones with larger nut widths. 1 3/4" usually works well for fingerstyle. If the necks are too thin, you'll just have to keep looking around for thicker ones. Take a look at the Epiphone Masterbilt series.

  • Your guitar sounds beautiful, man.

    Nice lesson =]

  • @mico9423 huh?

  • @mico9423 troller!

  • @mico9423

  • Comment removed

  • Thanks man but I'm gonna confused on the solo part

  • can i play it without capo?it will sound still nice?

  • @Cristi486 sure!

  • dude this really helped me..thanks!

  • im playing this at my school tomorrow, even though i learned this from you like last year thanks so much for teaching me bro you are amazing at guitar and you helped me become the guitarist i am today i couldnt have done it without you

  • @jtmasters13 have fun tomorrow :)

You give me way too much credit haha. I just watched your videos, you really work that 12-string

    Jon

  • @SimplyLuo thanks jon your my favorite guitarist

  • Thank you very much.... You are just awesome. Well done!

  • 5:36- 5:39 in this is different with Sung Ha version....

  • @Blakknites So? Read the video description, this is arranged by southwind193812. At no point did I say that this is for Sungha's version, which is only a few notes different anyway. You'll be able to learn the different part pretty easily

  • jaknastroic 3strune?

  • no podrias enseñar el temas im yours de shunga shung por favor te lo agradeseria

  • i have a problem with trying to tune it the way u want us too..

  • @quick2paint What's the problem?

  • @SimplyLuo i just cant get it to sound right...

  • @quick2paint Do you have a tuner of some sort? They're really helpful. Remember it should be DADGAD

  • @SimplyLuo do you think u could do a video, where u show us more how to tune the guitar for that song,....u see im still a beginner so its still kind of hard for me....

  • @quick2paint If you google "how to tune to dadgad" there are a bunch of articles that explain it much better than I can. If you can't figure it out, shoot me a message

  • @SimplyLuo ok thanks im gonna try it

  • Here's a couple things i noticed about the tuning: if your using a tuner then the high E string will reach D twice. the first time it reache D isif you adjust the knob only a little (this is a higher D than used on the E string in this video) you have to keep lowering the E string until the D note it makes is the same as the D strings frequency. the second thing is noticed as i was playing this ( i may be tuning it wrong as well idk) : something does seem to be bit odd or off with the tuning

  • @MrEquatorman I'm a bit confused. It shouldn't be that complicated, or odd.

low E->tune down one whole step to a D, so it matches the 4th string but will be an octave lower.

B -> tune down one whole step to an A, so it matches the 5th string, but an octave higher.

E -> tune down one whole step to a D, so it matches the 4th string, but an octave higher.

After all this, put the capo on the 3rd fret.

  • Thank you for this tutorial very amazing thank :)

  • yo entender todo!!! thank you!

  • yo no entender nada

  • thankss man! i like the way you teach and i will keep practice! ;)

  • I like the way you teach! I 've downloaded the tabs for a long time. But don't how to tune the guitar. Now i did! Thanks man:)

  • @DiddiHerzblattx3

He said have it in standard tuning to make it easier to tune to drop D.

Drop D tuning is an octave lower from standard.

How to tune to drop D is simple:

Use the 4th string also know as the D and tune the Low E (6th string) to match the 4th with the 6th to sound an octave lower from it.

So the tuning should be DADGAD.

Notice how the A string and G string stay the same.

Sorry if your still confused just message me and i'll responed.

    Keep on struming.

  • why do I tune my guitar? if that is tuned correctly, this is too high; (

    sorry bad english

  • lol hey its...john

  • thank you so much, this helped me. i dont have a slide capo but its fine with the normal (i just dont do the slide part) . your ver good :)

  • i dont have a slide capo . can i use a normal capo instead ?

  • Very nice video. I really can't understand the dislikes. Maybe that guys don't like guitar music, but why the watch the video than?

Your guitar really has a great sound. I added four more bars at the end of the intro. 9-11-12, 11-7-4-7, 4-7-9, 7-2-->or 7 on the second side.

    Add the baseline yourself.

Would look forward to see more videos from you.

    Greets from Austria

  • i can follow the way you play but the tabs are screwed up, it doesn't even say the proper fret you are playing on

  • @tollstop It definitely notates the proper fret. It's probably easier to follow if you download the full tab (the link is in the video description). I only put the sample tab thing in the video for those who might be on mobile devices and can't simultaneously watch the video and view a PDF.

  • this is like the sungha's version lol

  • @domeee11 Right, because sungha and I both covered southwind193812's version.

  • good one !

  • what about make another vidio.....i want more deteil.... :( lessen no.1 no.2 like that~~

  • @saenulpark How much more detailed do you want it? I'm legitimately curious, this could me help for future lesson videos.

I thought that the complete, downloadable tab and close up demonstration that I do pretty slowly would be enough. Honestly I think that if you can't follow that, the song is too advanced for you at the moment. Getting more detailed would pretty much be telling you note for note what to fret, pluck, and which finger to use. That wouldn't be learning :/

    Let me know,

    Jon

  • i think you had to tune your guitar first then teech us

  • Can you make a tutorial that is on a standard tone?

  • This is like the best guitar tutorial video i have ever seen on youtube! Awesome job man, thank you very much! I hope i'm gonna learn this great song asap :) thank you again

  • how much is that glider gl-1 capo???

    ahmmm nice tutorial!!!

  • You are my hero :D

  • А можно играть также только без зажима?

  • а можно также играть но не используя зажим? или так звук будет искажаться?

  • @MyLoLxLoL Amazon and Musiciansfriend carry it. I think Guitar Center does too

  • I saw agustin amogo's guitar playing...How come he didnt need a capo???

  • @hilfloram1 He's playing a different arrangement that doesn't use a capo.

  • @SimplyLuo O_O...Can you do that too?

  • @hilfloram1 he did need a capo. watch the vid again an u'll see it

  • @MyPetZombie5 I know simplylou needs a capo imtalking about agustin amigo

  • I'm really thankful that you do this lesson! (and sharing the tab ;P) you level me a lot! I need ~1 week to learn the complete song *-* and i had no experience with fingerstyle before. (play since 2 years(selfthough) but i'm boring of only shreding chords ;P) the only thing i hate is the capo thing... i search for a while for this glider capo but i found only shops that don't ship to germany -.- and the local shops sell this not. sucks! but thank you very much and keep it on :) greetings.

  • Nooooo! I wanted to play this so bad :( The thing is I just got one recently, and i dont want to spend my money. Is there a way to play it without sliding the capo from 3rd fret to 4th? With it being almost as simple as it really is? ( Not saying its simple though) Cuz I have been practicing for quite awhile, and when I reached the capo slide part, my heart just sunk. I forgot that there was a slide. I thought it was just for show :(

  • Sir,can u help me with the capo slide?I use the ordinary capo and I don't know how to slide it because it's very hard. Can u give me the specific place on the capo?(Sorry for my bad english)

  • @WillCerf You need the Glider GL-1 capo to slide.

  • Help me please....the tabs doesnt sound right even though i used a tuner to tune dadgad with :( please help me - Punk_boy@live.dk... please thumb this up so i can get help :/

  • this will take me 10years to master this song.

i desperately need advises..please..i beg of you guys

  • @InGUNable Hey, anything I can help with?

  • @SimplyLuo yes..i don't know how to read guitar tab..do you have some recommended link which i can learn how to read guitar tab from..??

    thanks a lot..

  • How do you slide the capo from 3rd fret to 4th fret? :o

  • @TheGuitarFanaticz You need the Glider GL-1 capo for sliding

  • Youre amazing (: whats the make of your guitar?

  • bro u r the best ......i am really really really impressed ...........u just made speechless!

  • What kind of guitar do you have?

    It sounds really good !

  • @LatinaEcuatoriana1

I want to know too. I kept looking for a label on the headstock but it was always off camera.

I wonder if it is a Walden guitar since it has no fret markers on the fingerboard.

  • @cbast2 @BobBiii3 @LatinaEcuatoriana1

    Thank you! It's a Martin 000X1

  • i pausemy porn video because to learn this song xD

  • Comment removed

  • nice tutorial, am halfway through learning it. how do you make the transition from 9th to 7th fret less choppy at 8:52? i'm currently learning that part, and it always sounds very choppy when i make the transition. sorry if this is a really basic thing because i never went to a music school and i've been learning guitar by myself off of the internet for only 3 months now.

  • @nejithepwnzor Learning by yourself is the best way, imo!

Not sure what to tell you. It's mostly a matter of timing. The moment your finger lifts off the string, you should be plucking the next note. Practice that transition over and over again slowly until you get it perfect, and then gradually speed it up until you've got it down

  • @SimplyLuo Ah i've been using your tab to play the song! Ummm it would seem that sungha jung kinda alters it at some parts if i'm not wrong? I've been praticising for 5 hours sigh. But my playing is always picking the wrong strings and i have extremely choppy playing. T_T Could you give me any advice?

  • i dont understand the part 8:55

  • @bangersDK Which part of it don't you understand?

  • i bought that Glider GL-1 Capo because of this song :)

  • I wish i had my capo right now : ( trying to make one out of a pen and a rubber band, it isnt working out too well.

  • thanks you very very very very much ! :)

  • May I tell you, that Tabs say a DAGDAD tuning instead of DADGAD ;D I wondered when tuning my guitar, but fortunately I noticed it early enough, otherwise I would have had a string less now :P

  • Dude great work and btw i just want to mention, i have a capo for the song but a the capo slide part can you annotate without the slide as it would help all of us cuz not all of us can get a Glider Gl-1 capo like yours.

  • @sexbabomb Instant reply! haha

What do you mean? There's no difference in the tab before the slide and after the slide. I just wrote a little note that says "capo slide here"

  • im using kyser capo and too bad i cant play this song because i cant move the capo from 3rd fret to 4th that fast :'(

  • What Is The Mark OF Your Guitar Luo?

    cause The Tone Is Great.
