Sometimes brilliant, beautiful, talented or gifted people feel entitled. They become really nasty, arrogant people. Then a tragedy occurs and they either worsen or rise above it and become humble, caring people. Hawking was never arrogant but he could have become bitter. Instead he is one of the most real, witty, caring person for being the smartest man on earth.
I got goosebumps when he announced that it's in actual fact not a steady state. I'm not sure whether it's because of Benedict's performance or my love of physics, or both.
For me the most tearful part was when he's writing on the blackboard because his desire to complete the demonstration and his passion for physics is more than apparent but contrast with his sluggish movements.
@EIEN07 aw i know! yeah that bit was really moving it really showed how much it ment to him! aw :,) what i also liked about it was that it didnt just focous of the down sides of hawkins desies, it was so possitive on the amasing things hawking was able to do with the times he had left, :)
@EIEN07 I agree: I started crying when he was writing on the blackboard like that. It was heartbreaking and beautiful. I honestly felt like a small part of me changed at that moment. If Stephen Hawking can overcome pain with passion, then why can't we all?
What an inspiring man. It's strange, I'd never really had an insight into Hawking's life before. It's really changed my perspective. Thanks for posting.
@Jabberwooki I find that part very funny--scientists have tried numerous times to get what they prove right, even get messy in the attempt. "The hiss was still there. The pigeon sh!t was not the hiss. Is that all right? Can I say that on television?"
this is so beautiful.

"Leave it with me."
"Okay, but don't..."
" What? Eat it?"
Benedict Cumberbatch really IS a brilliant actor. There's no one else who could play Stephen Hawking like he does

I'm absolutely enchanted but Amazon UK don't have any copies of this on DVD that wasn't over 50 pounds!
This is an amazing film though!

There was a young lady named Bright,
Whose speed was faster than light.
She set out one day
In a relative way,
And returned on the previous night.
