The whole point of the peer-reviewed process is that other qualified scientists dissect your work, cut it open and flesh it out, and if the paper holds water, it's published. If the editors find problems in the methodology, ect, the paper is discarded. Most papers never get published.

Big oil has much more to lose from climate change being real than any company existing now has to gain from it. Like the tobacco companies, big oil will do anything to make people think that climate change is a hoax, or that it's not caused by humans, or that there's nothing we can do about it. About those hacked emails, though, the media has yet to find anything terribly incriminating about them, which is why the story died a time ago. "Trick" is used by scientists all the time to mean a clever thing to do, and "hide the decline" was referring to the decline in apparent temperature from tree rings. Actual temperature recorded by more accurate tools showed the temperature to be rising.

You're right, stability is important. In Quebec, all our energy comes from hydroelectricity. It's cheap, it's reliable, (it's socialist :D), and since rivers flow all the time, it'd be a great stabilizer.

The IPCC only looked at one variable: man-made CO2; that's not science. They didn't have to look at volcanic activity, nor solar activity.  What is 3% of .03% of CO2? What is the proof that our miniscule amount is causing the warming?
