I think if Carson were still alive he'd think Jimmy Fallon is the only one who comes close to "getting it." Fallon must have been SO nervous. He never shows it anymore. One of my all time fave songs, and Stomp still rule. Bravo!
I saw this episode, on my widescreen TV, with surround sound and my lights turned off.
I GOT OUT OF MY CHAIR, AND SAT IN FRONT OF MY TELEVISION, AND A TEAR CAME TO MY FACE. This was the single greatest performance on Fallon, ever, and it has increased my liking for his show, ten-fold.
It's not about who can tell a joke, or who can carry a tune.
It's about what moves you.
If this didn't move you, leave it alone. Leave the rest of us to appreciate what we love, to appreciate what moves us.
I was at one of paul simons conserts and he sed" i read some where that austin has the highist iq rates ..croud woooooooooohoooooo and i was like yaaaaaaa my iq is 145 and ovyisly he didint hear me and then he sead and that artical is the bigis bull shit i hav ever read"
dude, he's not that bad,not sayin he's great, but he's a comedian...all im sayin is i've heard waaaaaaaaay worse...lets see paul simon do some stand up comedy, i'll bet its way worse than jimmy's singing, i thought it was super cool of paul to let him sing with him..be a critic when ur prolly not funny at all and cant sing worth a lick...
@CalibusRTW Um, you made my point by saying "let's see paul simon do some stand up comedy" , he wouldn't. Doesn't mean Paul Simon isn't funny or can't tell a joke, but he shouldn't do a set at a club. Jimmy Fallon can hold a tune, but Simon is a legend and this was painful to listen to. I can actually sing and have played places you dream about. you picked the wrong one, later.
@P715R way to pat yourself on the back,ur a total dick.i mean you're a singer that played in clubs.usually when you're a singer, you sing in clubs.but thats fine its just a typo, tell u what,go sing at a club that i'd die to sing in(sarcasm),upload it so i can watch u sing,i mean make an ass of yourself, and lets see how many views & likes u get and we'll see if i picked the wrong one.do this song and video reply it to this vid,PUT UR MONEY WHERE UR MOUTH IS LATER "SINGER" lol.kill youself
@MrRoseproductions so very very jealous! How were the acoustics sitting in the audience? I've always wondered what music-for-tv sounds like to the studio audience...
@willhort I think this is great! Sure Jimmy is no Paul Simon when it comes to singing but it doesn't always have to be about getting the notes and harmonies all perfect. This was some talented people having a really good time, and that energy really comes through. The fun and energy and good vibes were totally infectious, and the audience, you could tell was feeling it! Plus, if I was Jimmy Fallon, I'd be all over that opportunity to sing with Paul Simon and Stomp!
I think it is great that Jimmy gets to do this in his show. I saw this on TV and loved it. Can't argue with music like this. Jimmy must have been thrilled to play with such a legend.
@diodewatch11 OMG, exactly what I was thinking ! He tried to sang the Garfunkel's part, but he can't ! It's horrible !!! Thanks to Paul, the vid is good...
sweet!

let's be honest, Fallon should have NEVER tried to sing alone. His parodies are cutesy and all but he's not a real singer and it shows here. ugh

Guys. SOMEBODY had to sing with Paul. The harmony is vital to this song.
And why not Jimmy?

@BethAndZara Paul sing his song alone many times, and it wasn't bad... From my point, I don't really like Jimmy's voice...
