  • zzzzzzz. zzzzzzzzz . omfg this guy is BBBORRRRIIINGGGGG!!!!!!!! want to shoot self in head when listening to him

  • I think the point is, with your response, is that the nation is tired of these meaningless facts. You can state facts as much as you want, but hearing his story speaks for itself. I don't even follow what you're talking about through most of this. Paternalistically? That's a big word that doesn't fit whatsoever. How about enlightening us with your research and education instead of this crap, waste of my time, from someone who cannot even spell inappropriate.

  • nice observation and point.. the states needs to try to keep their puppet regimes from ending up worse than the people they dethroned.. again.. this would be how many worse dictators they've instated?

if history repeats itself the next 'president' will end up worse than the taliban or saddam.

  • A lot of truth huh? Maybe you had a valid point that he shouldn't have used the word "morals." Maybe he should have said "social norms", but he didn't. And here you are with your video camera, ready to rip him apart. I like how you don't seem to have a single video up here where you are commending something you heard and liked. But then again, you're so quick to criticize.

  • Well, I implied, when I said "justice and genuine understanding of the war", that I considered this event a step in that direction.

  • Comment removed

  • well, Jesse Hamilton sent me a personal message apologizing and tacitly acknowledging that what I said contained a lot of truth. perhaps you can overcome some of the propaganda and self-deception in society and rise to his level.

  • i dont understand him lol

    whats he saying??

  • No one yet knows how many people have died in Iraq. That may take years.

  • none of you have any right to criticize Jesse until you are put in that situation. He was simply telling his story of what he experienced. I'll back him up on it too as I was in Iraq and will concur with his comments on the Iraqi army. No one is saying anything bad about Iraqis, we only point out what actions they do take on their own people. I am just as upset with the loss of civilian lives in Iraq as I am with the loss of my fellow American brothers and sisters. This war is an atrocity.

  • It's immoral to look the other way when attrocities are being commited, especially if you can stop it.

  • Great video. Well said.

  • His testimony can hardly be called immoral.

  • Anyone that is stupid enough to think you can determine death count by taking a "poll" probably shouldn't be allow to have children.

  • Very good video man, five stars.

  • Hey when I first saw this video, without seeing the Hamilton video, I was kinda angry at you thinking you were too harsh on the guy. (After all, he was speaking out, which takes some guts). But when I saw and heard his dehumanizing generalization about the Iraqis and the condescending comment about "spoonfeeding", someone really needs to tell this guy how insensitive and colonialistic(?) his attitude is...maybe someone should show him your video! 5 stars, good job...

  • Please check out "Winter Soldier: Racism and Dehumanization of the Enemy". The two panels (total of 17 testimonies I believe) tell the story of how American Soldiers are not only trained to be so insensitive, but as victims of horrific situations are forced by human nature to lose their own morals and sense of reality. And again I must beg that everyone listen to the entire audio testimony (search google) before passing judgment on Hamilton. The message of IVAW is NOT to place blame on Iraqis.

  • Hey thank you for that, I will be viewing the testimony and you are right about the "not only trained to be insensitive..." and "...forced by humantuare to lose morals"...I meant to give u a thumbs up, like the message below...

  • Don't feel sorry for these criminals. It's laughable, get angry. It's about time americans got angry, get angry at the system wich spawns these wars, that dehumanizes ALL in society. It's not just the war, it's not just terrorism, it's deeper than that. It's capitalism, the root of all this evil

  • Of course IVAW doesn't place blame on the Iraqi's. How could a terroristic race be blameworthy? You people talk about getting angry at the troops the "system"! Why don't get angry at the damn president and congress and do something constructive. Something the public needs to get through their thick heads is that the military (especially marine corps infantry) are essentially to serve only one purpose...death and destruction.

  • If you sick an attack dog on a person and that person dies is it the dogs fault? Point the blame where it belongs. The Haliburton tycoon brotherhood.

  • I was 0311. I have no more shame, no more tears, and no more regrets.

  • I attempted to post this yesterday, and thought that it worked... Was my comment deleted? Eh, whatever.

Anyway, what I said was this- I witnessed the testimony while it was given from maybe 10 feet away from Hamilton. What I'd like for everyone to keep in mind is that his testimony was closer to 15 minutes long, and what you saw was less than 6 minutes of edited footage. I do not wish to discredit anyone's opinions, but please search on line for the full testimony before passing judgment.

  • very perceptive commentary, i coincide with the essence of what you said. Hamilton's participation was a a disgrace to the honor of the other participants, who were really changed for the better after this brutal american-lead atrocity that the whole world will remember forever.

  • Dude the guy is up there fighting against this war and you are talking shit about him. Isn't this counter productive?

  • In defense of Hamilton, For the most part I believe he was speaking of his former self to point out how he was conditioned by his commanders to justify his actions.

In any case, Hamilton's appearance at IVAW moves him out of the darkness and closer to the light to warn others of those atrocities.

Other than the criticism of you as incorrectly attacking the messenger, your comments received loud applause in Gainesville, Florida.

  • Sooo... a guy sitting on a pannel to give his personal observations is supposed to wander off on a bunch of geopolitical tangents?

I agree that he phrased things poorly. It sounds like he's blaming the victim. In the end, however, his testimony describes what he saw and states that his assigned task was futile. 'nuff said.

  • good points but, since you can not speak in a clear, on point manner. I suggest you write out your comments and have them reviewed by a competent editor.

  • Funny, did you even watch the video? In four minutes he makes an incredibly strong case providing ample evidence for his claims. It's evident you had nothing to counter the solid argument made by mr1001nights so you instead make irrelevant, unsubstantiated, subjective comments that tell us more about your personal likes and dislikes than they do about the strength of the argument being made.

  • buddh.....you likewise, could use lessons on the skills of clear, rational presentation.

  • Hamilton's views have been shaped by US propaganda going back a few decades characterizing Arabic culture as mindlessly violent. Not an accurate characterization, but one cultivated by those in power to prepare the US population for US aggression against MIddle Eastern countries. Not excusing Hamilton; his views are despicable. Only trying to give insight into their source.
