the best part of the argument is the fact that there is no records of any one named jesus christ in that time for many many many years. there is more history etched on cave walls about ancient forgotten cultures more than 10000 years ago than about a man who performed miricals and rose through the sky to heaven 2000 years ago.
use common sense and its not hard to believe the truth. science just happens to be the church's worst enemy.
How about that the devil isn't recorded until roughly around 1300 when the Catholic Church noticed the common people were'nt worshiping their gods. So they said that the enemy of their god looks just like the Horned God of Wicca, and all other deties are his demon minions and they are the cause of all your misery.
The most EPIC bullshit in the history on man that is continued to be eagerly be believed.
I'm not a Christian but there are some mistakes in the argument: 1. No where in the NT does it say how many kings there were, however it says the number of gifts brought.
2. Jesus of Nazareth was not born on Dec 25th. This date was adopted later on to convert pagans.
3. The Sun/Son connection is an English play-on word. The known world back then was not speaking English.
Lord Krishna was an expansion of Lord Vishnu. He was born before the sun. He appeared on earth about 5000 years ago. In Hindusium people still worship the sun.Who made the sun? God.
I hope you know that Christianity was set up to enslave the lower orders, and to rob our spiritual heritgae which was layed out in the pagan mystery religions; the original divinity.
The Mark of the Beast is a code word for Emperor Nero, there is no beast.
Revelation is believed to be a first century text but it's origins lay in the Mysteries of Osiris, and throughout it's evolution it was edited to incoportae other elements such as those of the Sybline Oracles.
It did go down that way. Nero's name adds up to 666 in Gematria, or so I have read. The number of the beast is 666 but the mark of the beast is 616, so I have read. 666 was a code word in Gematria:
There is no true God. Have you not comprehended the Torah at all? Have you not read the opening chapters of Genesis? It is an satire on the Egyptian and Sumerian creation accounts, in case you didn't know. Jesus the Christ is Horus the Osiris, work it out!!
The RFID chip is not linked to the mark of the beast because there is no beast. Of course, the truth is that by chipping people you control them which is what we've always done in human society: control people.
kingdavid - sigh. You don't want to know; you want to believe. In the case of maintaining faith, ignorance is of far more use. In fact, faith is the *only* human activity where ignorance is more desirable than knowledge. You are deliberately maintaining a high state of ignorance because actually accepting fact would ruin your faith.
Faith can never exist in the presence of knowledge. Ciao.
The difference between us is that I have evidence to back up what I'm saying, and you don't. You have the right to dismiss my evidence if you want, but you don't even *have* any evidence for me to dismiss. Which one of us is ultimately believing based on faith, then?
If you haven't seen it yet, I have a website where I'm offering Christ-mythers up to $1000 to actually provide evidence for the common Christ-myther claims (google "kingdavid8 challenge" if you want to see it).
It's better than having no evidence at all. Which is what Christ-mythers have. The claims they make about pre-Christian deities, the ones in this video, are entirely bogus, as anyone who has done any fact-checking would know. But Christ-mythers never bother with fact-checking, do they?
UrbanFarmboy - There is no evidence for any sort of a god. None, zip, zilch, nada, zero. You cannot provide even the tiniest amount of actual evidence that would stand up in a court of law.
Additionally, everyone who commented is an atheist. Everyone! You are all atheists in re gods you don't accept as a god, be it Zeus, Minerva, Jesus or Allah. I'm just an atheist in re 1 god more than you are.
Lies. Lies and slander. Jesus and all unusual circumstances surrounding him where recorded by both Herid the younger and Herid the senior. Both of which, close personal friends to the Roman aristocracy. Herid the the senior was put into office, against the will of the Jews by Agustus Caeser himself. Its nieve to think that Agustus would not have been informed about the details of major social uprisings in this Very important territory. Also Pilot & Longjinus recoreded everything. Who? Look it up
If you have a problem with organized religion. or "religious people" who bow to the letter of the law, and violate the heart of it than fine. You dont have to except it. But dont take it out on God. And dont let any problems with religion become an excuse to become intolerent of the religious. Lastly I offer you this. A challenge. Ignore people and logic. And as an individual learn about the root of religions & try communing with God. And see if you can feel anything. Thank you and Good Day.
But seriously, even though there is a mountain of evidence, which I will point out later if asked, you shouldnt need it. There is a different part of your body that can sense this. A part free from the confinments of left brain thinking. A spiritual experience is free from the left brain. Trying to use science to "trap" God in a cage and wrap a bow around Him is like trying to use subjective linguistics skills to solve a math equation.
I feel very sorry for people who cant seem to see anything that isnt right in front of there eyes. If you want to get techincal, there is tons of evidence that supports a god. But more than that, there is scientific evidence that supports a Judeo-Christian God. In order to find it you have to be well read. You need to first know what the Bible actually says. 2nd you will need a background in science, and ancient history. Things Im not too sure George Carlin is incredibly well versed in.
u sound very educated, but its all just ur faith.."know what the bible actually says" thats the thing..so many religious people take it every which way. literally, metaphorically, etc. what u think the bible says, is diff. from what someone else thinks. religion is faith, not fact. nothing more, nothing less. if it was fact, everyone would be the same thing. but we r not. n my opinion, god made everyone different. i think he wants us to make it up ourselves & not just believe what others believe
When I said "what the bible says" I actually meant what it claims. Like Jesus rose from the grave or that the Jews where freed from Egypt. These are straight forward claims. I just meant that people should know what the bible claims that way they can properly prove or disproved it. As opposed to working with hearsay. And this is the thing. Im a Christian, thats what I believe. Others have other religions and I can see why they think that way. But to say there is nothing at all...
"i think he wants us to make it up ourselves & not just believe what others believe"
I agree that you shouldn't just believe what others believe, but we should go where the evidence points. The Christ-myther claims are empty claims, without evidence to support them. Like your belief about the "20-30 historians". You obviously haven't checked out the claim, but just believed it. We shouldn't be so gullible.
its pretty easy to believe that 20-30 historians in and around the time of Jesus never documented his being...even if he was there, its still easy to believe that people wouldnt document it. what i want to know is why, the few people that did document it, didnt really have much to say...only a few one liners. i know if i saw someone walking on water, id write pages.
Jesus himself isnt the myth, the myth is what hes done..people that dont want to believe it, dont believe what he did.......
"its pretty easy to believe that 20-30 historians in and around the time of Jesus never documented his being.."
Unless someone can name them, there aren't. If there were, I think Remsburg would have included them on his list instead of going with lawyers, astronomers, etc.
"i know if i saw someone walking on water, id write pages."
Actually, if you'd lived at the time, you'd probably be illiterate. Most people were. But we do have several accounts of Jesus' story.
Why waste pages and pages focusing on the miracles. Yes He could perform miracles, which where recorded by the Jews and the polytheistic Romans alike. The Romans who had no reason to help justify the man. But the miracles where never as important as the message Christ brought. The miracles where parlor tricks. Not to say Christ wasnt divine. But the miracles came second. Imagine you are a person talking to primatives. You wanted to explain all the wonders of the world, and all they wanted
UrbanFarmboy - 'Yes He could perform miracles, which where recorded by the Jews and the polytheistic Romans alike' - Nope. Not a one. You can't find a single quote outside of that infomercial, the 'New Testament'/
well u need to look alil harder. they are there i promise...
we are talking about 20 (even 30) historians over 2000 years ago...so its probably deep in the files...
i didnt purposely look for those historians, i just came upon it when i was doing my own research on a larger scale of the subject. so i cant tell u how to get to it, u just have to find it.
sorry i cant help...but just b/c u cant find it yet doesn't mean its not there...
I'm assuming you're talking about John Remsburg's list (if you google "Remsburg historians", you'll find it easily). The problem is that those who pass this list around haven't bothered to do any fact-checking. If they did (as I did), they'd find that most of the names on the list *aren't even historians*, but are poets, playwrites, lawyers, philosophers, etc. But you can't expect Christ-mythers to bother with fact-checking, can you?
thats not the list im talking about...but thats just more to the list in reality..poets, playwrights, lawyers, and philosophers r just as capable of recording history as a historian can..after all history is just a past VERSION of events that people have decided to AGREED upon. history is decided by the winners. Christ-mythers? Christ is the myth. if u take that story literally, then i dont no what to tell u..except sorry. its suppose to be for inspiration. that book COULD be a beautiful thing
"Christ-mythers? Christ is the myth. if u take that story literally, then i dont no what to tell u..except sorry."
You're certainly welcome to believe what you want. But, personally, I go where the evidence points. And all of it points to Jesus being a historical character, and none of it points to Jesus being a myth.
where the evidence points? no, you go where you were lead as a child...everyone has the tendency to defend what they were raised on. if you were born Jewish, youd be Jewish. etc. where exactly is the evidence? the "evidence" has made a hand full of beliefs, all from the same story..so its not the evidence, its just what you want to believe. historical character, yes. historical fact? not so much. if it was an indisputable fact, it would all be fact, and not faith. everyone would be christian...
"no, you go where you were lead as a child...everyone has the tendency to defend what they were raised on"
But I was raised as an atheist and didn't become a Christian until I was 27.
"where exactly is the evidence?"
For Jesus? There's lots of it, around 1000 pages of text written within 100 years of His time, some of it by non-Christian historians who confirmed His existence. For the idea that Jesus is a myth, there is zero evidence.
i want to believe there are 1000 pages of text, but i cant help but ask, wouldnt the churches be publishing these and passing them out as much if not more than the bible? having a non-Christian tell of his existence seems like a pretty powerful tool, to get more in the church. but its only one book. a very shortened edited book...apparently there are many of these hidden by the church for 1000s of years, i just want to know why cant we have the full story?
"i want to believe there are 1000 pages of text, but i cant help but ask, wouldnt the churches be publishing these and passing them out as much if not more than the bible?"
Most of that 1,000 pages of text is in the Bible. The entire New Testament was included in that, written within 100 years of Jesus' time. We also had confirmation of His existence from 4 non-Christian historians - Suetonius, Josephus, Pliny the Younger and Tactitus.
"apparently there are many of these hidden by the church for 1000s of years, i just want to know why cant we have the full story?"
Because most of the texts that were left out were written centuries after Jesus' time by people who neither were eyewitnesses nor talked to eyewitnesses, but apparently just made up their own stories. As far as reliable testimony goes, stuff that was either first or second-hand, that's in the Gospels.
M333tt, you wondered why the Bible is "so short" and edited. Let me tell you about the Council Of Nicea. A few generations after Christs crucifiction, the Romans used to have tons of fun slautering early Christians. At some point they finaly made Christianity legal. But they said, "if we are going to legalize it, you will have to define what it is." So early Christians met at Council Of Nicea. There they decided which books get left in and which are thrown out.
Thats when they decided all the books they would keep. After time passed. They became more strict about the books they chose. And because nothing stays the way it was intended to, after enouff time past, it eventually became herracy to mention books the where not selected at the Council Of Nicea. It was a shame that we lost books for so long, but what can you expect. Humans are incapable of keeping anything the way it was intented to be.
We have several of the "alternate Gospels", and they almost certainly don't tell us any sort of truth. Unlike the Bible's Gospels, they weren't written by people who had witnessed, or talked to those who had witnessed, the events surrounding Jesus. They were written much too late to be reliable.
kingdavid246 - The synoptic gospels weren't written by the people whose names are attached to them, nor were they written during the lifetime of anyone who might have seen this phony god. You are totally ignorant. You know nothing and what you believe is a 4th century construct. Typical Christian.
"The synoptic gospels weren't written by the people whose names are attached to them, nor were they written during the lifetime of anyone who might have seen this phony god."
And your evidence that Matthew, Mark, Luke and John didn't write them, or that they were written outside of the time they lived, is what exactly? Your opinion? I've never heard of any rational scholar who would say they were written in the 4th century, as you claim.
Peter held favour in the eyes of the orthodox church fathers. They fabricated a few epistles in his name. But Peter is Petros (rock, stone) the Greek god.
Matthew wrote 40 years later, and there is no proof that Matthew wrote his gospel. Matthew is based on Mark's account anyway. John came later and was likely inspired by the Mysteries of Amenta. None of these people are likely to have existed. Paul's epistles are the oldest known Christian texts but they were doctored in the hands of Marcion and others.
"Matthew wrote 40 years later, and there is no proof that Matthew wrote his gospel. "
You mean there's no proof he didn't, right? His authorship is confirmed by several sources, including Papias, Origen and Irenaeus. There's no evidence that he didn't write them, and we never just assume a credited authorship is false without reason to do so. I can't "prove" that Poe wrote "The Raven", but without evidence to the contrary, it's safe to assume he did.
Not just Massey! Khun, Budge and many other Egyptologists and comparative religion researchers know it. The gospel authors are unknown, and it is likely all four gospels (canonical) were attributed to imaginary people. Since there is no proof I can dismiss them as myth. Untill there is proof I won't change my mind.
"The gospel authors are unknown, and it is likely all four gospels (canonical) were attributed to imaginary people."
What's your evidence that M, M, L and J were imaginary?
"Since there is no proof I can dismiss them as myth. Untill there is proof I won't change my mind. "
So if something can't be 100% proven, we should conclude it's false, even if all evidence favors it being true? I can't "prove" that Poe wrote "The Raven", so should I conclude that he didn't?
"The letters, to which the apostle is indebted for the largest part of his fame, seem to have been forgotten for almost an entire century, until we encounter them in the middle of the second century in the hands of the heretic Marcion, who was excommunicated by the Catholic church in 144 CE." H. Detering (The Falsified Paul, p60)
"until we encounter them in the middle of the second century in the hands of the heretic Marcion"
Marcion didn't have all copies, so the changes he made (such as removing most of Romans 9 through 11 and all of Romans 15 & 16) were easily undone. There's no reason to believe that the copies we have now reflect Marcion's doctoring.
Also, I'm still waiting for your source on the Greek God "Petros". Or did you just make that up yourself?
Theres tons of evidence for Jesus's existance. He grew up in the time of the first roman emperer, Agustus Caesar. And even though there were TONS of Zelets preaching about the end of the world, Only those associated with Jesus's movement caused enough of a stir to be killed killed. Whether you want to believe it or not, his miricales where witnessed and recorded by Jews and Romans alike. The Romans didnt follow Christ, so why would they lie to validate the disapearence of His body & his miracles?
kingdavid246 - 'There's lots of it, around 1000 pages of text written within 100 years of His time, some of it by non-Christian historians who confirmed His existence.' - Nonsense. There are exactly 3 references. Two cannot be shown to refer to your so-called god and one has been shown as a forgery for 200 years. Thousands? Quote one. Just one.
With a 500-character limit, I can't quote an entire page of text, but the New Testament is around 1000 pages, so you can see it for yourself. And there were 4 historians who mentioned Jesus. Though one of Josephus' references to Jesus was interpolated, the other ("the so-called Christ") was not.
kingdavid246 - virtualreligion(period) [abbreviated as 'per' below]net(slash)primer(slash)synoptic(per)html-the Jesus Seminar (scholarly enough for you?)-world wide web (per) cresourcei (per) org (slash) synoptic (per) html-religious tolerance (per) org. 3rd Council of Carthage in 397CE was FIRST acceptance of Bible as known today. Google it, oh Uneducated One.
No. 2 refs to 'Chrestus', a common name, & 1 Josephus forgery. That's it. 'Chrestus' is a NAME & 'Christ' is a TITLE. BIG difference
"3rd Council of Carthage in 397CE was FIRST acceptance of Bible as known today."
The texts were *compiled* into the Bible in the 4th century, but they were written in the 1st century and accepted by Jesus' followers at that time. Rational people don't date texts to when they were compiled, but when they were written.
True, but if this was just one person with that name from among thousands, Suetonius would have clarified who he was talking about. He clearly was speaking of someone well-known, who he knew his audience would identify by the one name alone.
"1 Josephus forgery."
What's your evidence that the "so-called Christ" reference was a forgery?
If you go to worldwide web (period) evolution-facts (period) org, click on "view" at the top of your screen and then click on "source" you'll see what a 'good Christian' finds of interest.
Scroll to the end or do a search for "linkz" (note the 'Z') and read the linked websites. I must admit that this old cynic was shocked.
Great spirits have always encountered violent opposition from mediocre minds. The mediocre mind is incapable of understanding the man who refuses to bow blindly to conventional prejudices and chooses instead to express his opinions courageously and honestly.
there are also over 20 historians in the time and area of Jesus that never once documented his being
so i guess its just a matter of what you choose to listen to
these people say he lived.
these people say no such being (walking on water, miracles etc) was ever around...you would think they would jump to document such stories..but over 20 maybe even 30 historians never wrote a word of it
so it still boils down to faith
what do you want to believe..b/c historical facts show he did and didnt live
Believe in anything or anyway YOU want to believe...but 1 thing is true...the church the pope are HUMANS...they just do the religions to have control over people, to scare them. THERE IS something more powerful. .what i have no idea...but there is...just NOT like they say. so believe on what you want...just remember, church relegions and popes are humans...they are doing this just to control you, to scare you... the Politics and the relegions are the same thing...
You're right we don't know for sure when Jesus was born. December 25th is the traditional day that we celebrate His birth. We can still be sure that He was born, He did die and He did rise.
And also, the Bible never says "THREE KINGS". It just says "The wise men". The whole theory here falls on these two points!
The Catholic church blended the Christmas story with the similar concepts seen in the pagan religions to make it more appealing to the pagans. They did not simply "copy" the pagan religions as is being insinuated. They mixed them.
Such as what? If you mean Quranic science, then that can be explained by looking at the ancient Greek scientists and astronomers. Many of the supposed sceintific "truths" revealed in the Quran were well known to many ancient Greeks including Euclid, Hippocrites, Pythagoras, and many more from Egypt, Babylon and Africa who existed at least a thousand years or more before Islam ever came about.
No one can say that the big band theory and the speed of light was known since that time. The Big Bang theory is described in the Quran. The wording also suggests certain things, but it all depends on the interpretation. A nomad reading it 1400 years ago wouldn't know what the phrases mean to us now. As we can relate them. I still find it quite interesting how the Big Bang in particular is described in the Quran. What do you think?
The Quran is based upon the sayings of the Ku Ra in the Egyptian Book of the Dead. Don't forget that Islam started out as a moon cult probably in Arabia with Hubal lord of the Kabah. By that time Egypts secrets were already embedded within Christianity and other cults. Read up about Galen in 129AD and his discoveries. Read the Almagest by King Ptolemy. If there is any science in the Koran you can bet it was discovered before the Koran was written.
You remind me of an idiot christian preacher who stood up one day during an Islamic talk and started waving a book saying "you muslims dare not here what is in this book". The Imam kindly smiled at him and told him to go ahead.
The preacher started firing off a gazillion facts to show how Islam shared many common things with old religions. After 5 min he finished with a look of triumph.
The Imam just smiled and said "thank you, you have made my faith in Islam even deeper"
The preacher was confused. You are like that dumbass preacher. God says in the Quran "to every peoples we sent a warner". The Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) said there have been thousands of prophets sent to mankind to implore people to stop worshipping nature/individuals/idols & turn to God alone
But always the truth was corrupted as time went on. Of-course Islam shares many things with old religions. Because those old religions probably still retained some divine truths
I am not confused. But YOU are. All the Abrhamic religions are the corruptions of earlier religions, so I won't be talking part in the filth that you take for God.
Its not even a theory then. If they have no empircal proof or writings of the sort claiming this then it is not a theory but made up fairy tale crap. I see their point on Jesus and the new Testament I believe that but I do not believe in the writings of it because it is just fairy tales.
The theory presented in the movie is based not on the Horus that is represented in Egyptian legends, but the mystery cult of Horus. All of these mystery cults involved the same things that christianity later adapted to its own needs. These mystery cults developed about 200-100 years before the Jesus myth and quickly spread
I didn't circumcise my son because I think it's cruel and disrespectful to alter a helpless innocent child without their consent. I'll be sure to give him the option when he is old enough to make the choice.
So by your logic, we should expect Jews to be the greatest criminals, am I right?
Does being circumcised as an infant turn you into a sex criminal, or just a violent criminal? I know tons of people who were circumcised as infants and never committed a violent or sexual crime.
"So by your logic, we should expect Jews to be the greatest criminals, am I right?
Does being circumcised as an infant turn you into a sex criminal, or just a violent criminal? I know tons of people who were circumcised as infants and never committed a violent or sexual crime."
Ask a woman if she would rather be raped once, or had her clitoris and labia cut off at birth that reduces sexual pleasure for a lifetime. I have asked that question to women.
But the idea of banning certain practices goes against the notion of an enlightened anarchy you were talking about before. How do you propose "making" people more enlightened if you don't have laws? Threats? Bribes? How will you enforce the exchanges? This gets very difficult in larger societies. But anyway, I'd love to hear your ideas, and I'll keep an open mind. But I think your argument has shifted from "laws = bad" to "we just need different laws."
Click on my name and you will see the videos. What I am saying is that bad human behavior has nothing to do with laws at all. Nature (our design) doesn't care about our laws nor our justifications. When we do bad things to children, there will be a response to let us know to change behavior. Realize that I am the one that defined this, wrote a book on it, and am currently trying to get it published. St. Louis MO (1400 crimes per 10,000) Osaka Japan (3.4 crimes per 10,000).
The biggest crime they have to worry about is pick pocketing. Yes, circumcision makes a huge difference, because it is so offensive and done at a time when a child is the most vulnerable. Therefore, there will be a huge response to this behavior, as there should be. Just look at the Arab world. Circumcision is worse than rape, it removes the most pleasurable part of a man's body for a lifetime. Anyone that is cut will never be the man they were meant to be. The abuse must be responded to.
Societies that don't circumcise, don't hit their children, that are affectionate with their children (something now seen as bad behavior by many) have MUCH lower crime rates. It is that simple.
Forgot to mention... Circumcision is very painful, and done to the penis. This is the impetus of sexual molestation and pedophilia (currently undefined). Circ. is infant sexual molestation. Pain is what nature intended us to guide our moral behavior of what not to do. When this simple rule is ignored, there will be a response. In other words, when the rules are broken, they will continue to be broken to let us know that we are doing wrong, and pay the price for our inappropriate behavior.
Sorry Scott, but if we define right and wrong based on mere pain/pleasure, then we'll end up with a really incomplete and screwed up morality. That's nothing to based the rules of a civilized society upon. Plus, isn't your suggestion a big slippery slope fallacy? What about those who choose circumcision for themselves? Are you saying a surgical procedure is "sexual"? Does that apply to people who get tattoos or genital piercings or implants as well?
No, actually quite the contrary. When one chooses something for themselves, that is entirely different. It is on their own accord. Someone could choose to chop off their penis entirely, that is there decision. Surely you can see the difference.
Correlation doesn't equal causation. Actually the numbers of American (and I think too British) parents who circumcise their children and use corporal punishment has declined steadily in recent decades. By your logic, then crime should have gone down at the same rate.
Plus, in countries that practice female circumcision, by your logic, women should be committing more crimes, right?
Why would circumcision influence later crime by an individual, as infants are incapable of remembering the "pain" of circumcision? Only New Agers believe that we can remember our own infancy. So having your foreskin removed makes you less of a man? That's a lot of importance to attach to a simple piece of skin. It's not synonymous with castration. Still, how about you show me the numbers of uncircumcised vs. circumcised inmates for violent crime.
It doesn't have to be remembered, matter of fact, severe mistreat that is not remembered can have even worse affects. Are you implying that one can do anything to an infant they want, and as long as it isn't remembered, then no harm no foul? Silly! You need to learn more about circumcision. It isn't just skin. The nerves found in the clitoris are found in the frenulum of the male, the nerves found in the labia, are in the foreskin of the male. Research it.
So if we make circumcision and spanking illegal, that will put an end to "violent crime" on a societal scale? How do you propose that be enforced? A more plausible theory is that violence is bred from scarcity and discontent, and increases with larger societies. Smaller societies where everyone is relatively well off and happy will tend to have fewer such incidents (you still will have the occasional psychotic).
It could be Scott, that those societies have so many laws BECAUSE people in it are so lawless. Of course making more laws doesn't end crime, necessarily, I agree. I'm not praising police states, I just question the logic that lack of laws will cut down on human abuse.
It is difficult to explain in this short amount of space. Going by your theory, since America has more laws regarding human behavior than any other, we should have zero crime rate. But you must realize, we are a society that circumcises and hits children in the name of discipline. How convenient to make those crimes legal. One bad behavior begets another. It has nothing whatsoever to do with laws. This is why a society must be responsible for their actions as a society. Understand?
Why would having more laws result in less crime? I wasn't saying that more laws = less crime. Literally, the more laws you have, the greater the chance that someone will break them, which equals more crime. "Crime" is simply the breaking of laws (I'm not talking about homocides, rape or theft specifically). I don't think the circumcision and spanking leads to rape, murder, and burglary either necessarily. Send me the links to the videos you're talking about.
There are 3 videos I made that you can view. If you watch them, you will understand my point much better. It doesn't explain everything, but will get you pretty close.
Wouldn't it be funny to go back in time and place StarWar books about. Imagine how many Jedi Churches there would be today. LOL.
"God created the Heavens and the Earth, but a long time ago in a further galaxy was many powerful human Gods of good versus evil. The Jedi Gods are calm, peaceful, and will always do good deeds for the old republic. The Sith are of Satans aggressive manor and bullying. Jesus Christ is the resurrected Luke Skywalker and destroyed evil...."
your right, its just ancient egyptian sun worship and the only people who disagree are religious people and people who havnt researched it. Its all sun worship which simply creates division look beyond it. Ive researched religion but i dont live my life by it. I believe in a higher being and some what something that is beyond our understanding at this moment in time. But no One book should tell you how to live your life, or giveyou the answers for the nature of reality.
there are societies living all over this planet that have zero laws regarding human behavior, and they have zero problems when it comes to crimes. Why is it always the countries that have tons of laws regarding human behavior that have the highest crime rates?
Which truly anarchistic societies are you talking about ScottJanssen? Of course if you were being literal minded... if you have no laws, you have no "crime" by definition! However you may still have killings, theft, rape, etc, it's just not "illegal" because there are no laws in that society! But there's still international law, so you can still condemn such actions even on a purely human scale.
why the hell do we need religion?why cant we have a personal opinion about "God".why cant we be diffrent or angry without "Christians" thinking we are just controlled by the devil?religion is just a waste of time in my opinion...there just judgemental and mean to people that dont see god the way they do or dont beleive.
Joh 2, Jesus made Best wine from water in a wedding party in Galelea. If there are 12 chambers with 10 L volume per chamber, and every liter content 12% pure bio-ethanol. Total= 12 x 10 x 0,12 = 14,4 L bio-et x 31,29 MJ/L = 450,58 MJ was produced by Jesus spontaneously. Where the energy comes from, which prophet can make like that even Muhammad.
Nagneto 2 years ago
I'm not a Christian but there are some mistakes in the argument: 1. No where in the NT does it say how many kings there were, however it says the number of gifts brought.
2. Jesus of Nazareth was not born on Dec 25th. This date was adopted later on to convert pagans.
3. The Sun/Son connection is an English play-on word. The known world back then was not speaking English.
Thanks for posting. Have a nice day.

N = 50
R = 200
W = 6

kingdavid - sigh.

UrbanFarmboy 3 years ago
But seriously, even though there is a mountain of evidence, which I will point out later if asked, you shouldnt need it. There is a different part of your body that can sense this. A part free from the confinments of left brain thinking. A spiritual experience is free from the left brain. Trying to use science to "trap" God in a cage and wrap a bow around Him is like trying to use subjective linguistics skills to solve a math equation.
UrbanFarmboy 3 years ago
I feel very sorry for people who cant seem to see anything that isnt right in front of there eyes. If you want to get techincal, there is tons of evidence that supports a god. But more than that, there is scientific evidence that supports a Judeo-Christian God. In order to find it you have to be well read. You need to first know what the Bible actually says. 2nd you will need a background in science, and ancient history. Things Im not too sure George Carlin is incredibly well versed in.
UrbanFarmboy 3 years ago
u sound very educated, but its all just ur faith.."know what the bible actually says" thats the thing..so many religious people take it every which way. literally, metaphorically, etc. what u think the bible says, is diff. from what someone else thinks. religion is faith, not fact. nothing more, nothing less. if it was fact, everyone would be the same thing. but we r not. n my opinion, god made everyone different. i think he wants us to make it up ourselves & not just believe what others believe
m333tt 3 years ago
When I said "what the bible says" I actually meant what it claims. Like Jesus rose from the grave or that the Jews where freed from Egypt. These are straight forward claims. I just meant that people should know what the bible claims that way they can properly prove or disproved it. As opposed to working with hearsay. And this is the thing. Im a Christian, thats what I believe. Others have other religions and I can see why they think that way. But to say there is nothing at all...
UrbanFarmboy 3 years ago

"i think he wants us to make it up ourselves & not just believe what others believe"
I agree that you shouldn't just believe what others believe, but we should go where the evidence points. The Christ-myther claims are empty claims, without evidence to support them. Like your belief about the "20-30 historians". You obviously haven't checked out the claim, but just believed it. We shouldn't be so gullible.
David
kingdavid246 3 years ago
its pretty easy to believe that 20-30 historians in and around the time of Jesus never documented his being...even if he was there, its still easy to believe that people wouldnt document it. what i want to know is why, the few people that did document it, didnt really have much to say...only a few one liners. i know if i saw someone walking on water, id write pages.
Jesus himself isnt the myth, the myth is what hes done..people that dont want to believe it, dont believe what he did.......

You wanted to explain all the wonders of the world, and all they wanted

m333tt,
I'm assuming you're talking about John Remsburg's list (if you google "Remsburg historians", you'll find it easily).
David
kingdavid246 3 years ago
thats not the list im talking about...but thats just more to the list in reality..poets, playwrights, lawyers, and philosophers r just as capable of recording history as a historian can..after all history is just a past VERSION of events that people have decided to AGREED upon. history is decided by the winners. Christ-mythers? Christ is the myth. if u take that story literally, then i dont no what to tell u..except sorry. its suppose to be for inspiration. that book COULD be a beautiful thing
m333tt 3 years ago
"thats not the list im talking about...but thats just more to the list in reality.."

"poets, playwrights, lawyers, and philosophers r just as capable of recording history as a historian can.."
Oookay. Well, I'm sure I could come up with a list of 20-30 writers who didn't mention Julius Caesar. Would you take that to mean Caesar didn't exist?
David

"Christ-mythers? Christ is the myth. if u take that story literally, then i dont no what to tell u..except sorry."
You're certainly welcome to believe what you want. But, personally, I go where the evidence points. And all of it points to Jesus being a historical character, and none of it points to Jesus being a myth.
David
kingdavid246 3 years ago
where the evidence points? no, you go where you were lead as a child...everyone has the tendency to defend what they were raised on. if you were born Jewish, youd be Jewish. etc. where exactly is the evidence? the "evidence" has made a hand full of beliefs, all from the same story..so its not the evidence, its just what you want to believe. historical character, yes. historical fact? not so much. if it was an indisputable fact, it would all be fact, and not faith. everyone would be christian...
m333tt 3 years ago
"no, you go where you were lead as a child...everyone has the tendency to defend what they were raised on"
But I was raised as an atheist and didn't become a Christian until I was 27.
"where exactly is the evidence?"
For Jesus? There's lots of it, around 1000 pages of text written within 100 years of His time, some of it by non-Christian historians who confirmed His existence. For the idea that Jesus is a myth, there is zero evidence.
David
kingdavid246 3 years ago
isnt David a biblical name?
i want to believe there are 1000 pages of text, but i cant help but ask, wouldnt the churches be publishing these and passing them out as much if not more than the bible? having a non-Christian tell of his existence seems like a pretty powerful tool, to get more in the church. but its only one book. a very shortened edited book...apparently there are many of these hidden by the church for 1000s of years, i just want to know why cant we have the full story?
m333tt 3 years ago
"i want to believe there are 1000 pages of text, but i cant help but ask, wouldnt the churches be publishing these and passing them out as much if not more than the bible?"
Most of that 1,000 pages of text is in the Bible. The entire New Testament was included in that, written within 100 years of Jesus' time. We also had confirmation of His existence from 4 non-Christian historians - Suetonius, Josephus, Pliny the Younger and Tactitus.
David
kingdavid246 3 years ago
"apparently there are many of these hidden by the church for 1000s of years, i just want to know why cant we have the full story?"
Because most of the texts that were left out were written centuries after Jesus' time by people who neither were eyewitnesses nor talked to eyewitnesses, but apparently just made up their own stories. As far as reliable testimony goes, stuff that was either first or second-hand, that's in the Gospels.
David
kingdavid246 3 years ago
M333tt, you wondered why the Bible is "so short" and edited. Let me tell you about the Council Of Nicea. A few generations after Christs crucifiction, the Romans used to have tons of fun slautering early Christians. At some point they finaly made Christianity legal. But they said, "if we are going to legalize it, you will have to define what it is." So early Christians met at Council Of Nicea. There they decided which books get left in and which are thrown out.
UrbanFarmboy 3 years ago
Thats when they decided all the books they would keep. After time passed. They became more strict about the books they chose. And because nothing stays the way it was intended to, after enouff time past, it eventually became herracy to mention books the where not selected at the Council Of Nicea. It was a shame that we lost books for so long, but what can you expect. Humans are incapable of keeping anything the way it was intented to be.
UrbanFarmboy 3 years ago
dont you want the full story?
is the rest of the books/story lost in time? or is it archived somewhere?
wouldnt Christians want the whole thing?
m333tt 3 years ago
"dont you want the full story?
is the rest of the books/story lost in time?"
We have several of the "alternate Gospels", and they almost certainly don't tell us any sort of truth. Unlike the Bible's Gospels, they weren't written by people who had witnessed, or talked to those who had witnessed, the events surrounding Jesus. They were written much too late to be reliable.

Matthew wrote 40 years later, and there is no proof that Matthew wrote his gospel. Matthew is based on Mark's account anyway. John came later and was likely inspired by the Mysteries of Amenta. None of these people are likely to have existed. Paul's epistles are the oldest known Christian texts but they were doctored in the hands of Marcion and others.
martynblackburn1977 2 years ago
"Matthew wrote 40 years later, and there is no proof that Matthew wrote his gospel. "
You mean there's no proof he didn't, right? His authorship is confirmed by several sources, including Papias, Origen and Irenaeus. There's no evidence that he didn't write them, and we never just assume a credited authorship is false without reason to do so. I can't "prove" that Poe wrote "The Raven", but without evidence to the contrary, it's safe to assume he did.
David
kingdavid246 2 years ago
"John came later and was likely inspired by the Mysteries of Amenta."
Says Gerald Massey, who made a lot of claims he failed to back up.
"None of these people are likely to have existed."
Wow. So you not only believe Jesus didn't exist, you believe that the Gospel authors didn't exist, either? Just wow.
"Paul's epistles are the oldest known Christian texts but they were doctored in the hands of Marcion and others."
Evidence for this?
David
kingdavid246 2 years ago
Not just Massey! Khun, Budge and many other Egyptologists and comparative religion researchers know it. The gospel authors are unknown, and it is likely all four gospels (canonical) were attributed to imaginary people. Since there is no proof I can dismiss them as myth. Untill there is proof I won't change my mind.
martynblackburn1977 2 years ago
"The gospel authors are unknown, and it is likely all four gospels (canonical) were attributed to imaginary people."
What's your evidence that M, M, L and J were imaginary?
"Since there is no proof I can dismiss them as myth. Untill there is proof I won't change my mind. "
So if something can't be 100% proven, we should conclude it's false, even if all evidence favors it being true? I can't "prove" that Poe wrote "The Raven", so should I conclude that he didn't?
David

H. Detering (The Falsified Paul, p60)
martynblackburn1977 2 years ago
"until we encounter them in the middle of the second century in the hands of the heretic Marcion"
Marcion didn't have all copies, so the changes he made (such as removing most of Romans 9 through 11 and all of Romans 15 & 16) were easily undone. There's no reason to believe that the copies we have now reflect Marcion's doctoring.
Also, I'm still waiting for your source on the Greek God "Petros". Or did you just make that up yourself?

With a 500-character limit, I can't quote an entire page of text, but the New Testament is around 1000 pages, so you can see it for yourself. And there were 4 historians who mentioned Jesus. Though one of Josephus' references to Jesus was interpolated, the other ("the so-called Christ") was not.

GuitaristontheFloor 3 years ago

(cont. next comment)
Eye0fTheStorm 3 years ago
Not a very good retort for an Imam. lol.
martynblackburn1977 3 years ago
(cont from previous comment)
The preacher was confused. You are like that dumbass preacher. God says in the Quran "to every peoples we sent a warner". The Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) said there have been thousands of prophets sent to mankind to implore people to stop worshipping nature/individuals/idols & turn to God alone
But always the truth was corrupted as time went on. Of-course Islam shares many things with old religions. Because those old religions probably still retained some divine truths
Eye0fTheStorm 3 years ago
I am not confused. But YOU are. All the Abrhamic religions are the corruptions of earlier religions, so I won't be talking part in the filth that you take for God.

A lot of it was faulted. This one world government crap needs to end here. where is the evidence for the claims?
Reido2828 3 years ago
There are a couple of factoids in the section of religion that some (Christians) dispute.
However the New World Order is very real.
Google: NWO, North American Union, Amero, Verichip

there is none.. it's all manufactured and none of the other "Jesus" attributes shown here are real.. it's made up to fit the theory
Kasperloeye 3 years ago
Its not even a theory then. If they have no empircal proof or writings of the sort claiming this then it is not a theory but made up fairy tale crap. I see their point on Jesus and the new Testament I believe that but I do not believe in the writings of it because it is just fairy tales.

Horus was crucified?
DetroitCrackHead666 3 years ago
No he wasn't.. he was never killed..
Kasperloeye 3 years ago 2
The theory presented in the movie is based not on the Horus that is represented in Egyptian legends, but the mystery cult of Horus. All of these mystery cults involved the same things that christianity later adapted to its own needs. These mystery cults developed about 200-100 years before the Jesus myth and quickly spread

I didn't circumcise my son because I think it's cruel and disrespectful to alter a helpless innocent child without their consent. I'll be sure to give him the option when he is old enough to make the choice.
Anjimom 3 years ago
So by your logic, we should expect Jews to be the greatest criminals, am I right?
Does being circumcised as an infant turn you into a sex criminal, or just a violent criminal? I know tons of people who were circumcised as infants and never committed a violent or sexual crime.

"So by your logic, we should expect Jews to be the greatest criminals, am I right?

As a Christian, I say No. (easily)
Brightstar27 3 years ago
So is the problem laws or the optional practice of male infant circumcision?
I don't know about you, but I'd rather be circumcised than raped! I think most people would, if given the choice.
XSC3 3 years ago
Ask a woman if she would rather be raped once, or had her clitoris and labia cut off at birth that reduces sexual pleasure for a lifetime. I have asked that question to women.
ScottJanssen 3 years ago
But the idea of banning certain practices goes against the notion of an enlightened anarchy you were talking about before. How do you propose "making" people more enlightened if you don't have laws? Threats? Bribes? How will you enforce the exchanges? This gets very difficult in larger societies. But anyway, I'd love to hear your ideas, and I'll keep an open mind. But I think your argument has shifted from "laws = bad" to "we just need different laws."
XSC3 3 years ago
Click on my name and you will see the videos. What I am saying is that bad human behavior has nothing to do with laws at all. Nature (our design) doesn't care about our laws nor our justifications. When we do bad things to children, there will be a response to let us know to change behavior. Realize that I am the one that defined this, wrote a book on it, and am currently trying to get it published. St. Louis MO (1400 crimes per 10,000) Osaka Japan (3.4 crimes per 10,000).
ScottJanssen 3 years ago
The biggest crime they have to worry about is pick pocketing. Yes, circumcision makes a huge difference, because it is so offensive and done at a time when a child is the most vulnerable. Therefore, there will be a huge response to this behavior, as there should be. Just look at the Arab world. Circumcision is worse than rape, it removes the most pleasurable part of a man's body for a lifetime. Anyone that is cut will never be the man they were meant to be. The abuse must be responded to.
ScottJanssen 3 years ago
Societies that don't circumcise, don't hit their children, that are affectionate with their children (something now seen as bad behavior by many) have MUCH lower crime rates. It is that simple.
ScottJanssen 3 years ago
Forgot to mention... Circumcision is very painful, and done to the penis. This is the impetus of sexual molestation and pedophilia (currently undefined). Circ. is infant sexual molestation. Pain is what nature intended us to guide our moral behavior of what not to do. When this simple rule is ignored, there will be a response. In other words, when the rules are broken, they will continue to be broken to let us know that we are doing wrong, and pay the price for our inappropriate behavior.
ScottJanssen 3 years ago
Sorry Scott, but if we define right and wrong based on mere pain/pleasure, then we'll end up with a really incomplete and screwed up morality. That's nothing to based the rules of a civilized society upon. Plus, isn't your suggestion a big slippery slope fallacy? What about those who choose circumcision for themselves? Are you saying a surgical procedure is "sexual"? Does that apply to people who get tattoos or genital piercings or implants as well?
XSC3 3 years ago
No, actually quite the contrary. When one chooses something for themselves, that is entirely different. It is on their own accord. Someone could choose to chop off their penis entirely, that is there decision. Surely you can see the difference.
ScottJanssen 3 years ago
Correlation doesn't equal causation. Actually the numbers of American (and I think too British) parents who circumcise their children and use corporal punishment has declined steadily in recent decades. By your logic, then crime should have gone down at the same rate.
Plus, in countries that practice female circumcision, by your logic, women should be committing more crimes, right?
XSC3 3 years ago
The crime rates in America have fallen very closely to the same rate as circumcision, BUT! don't forget about the 15 to 20 year delay.
ScottJanssen 3 years ago
Why would circumcision influence later crime by an individual, as infants are incapable of remembering the "pain" of circumcision? Only New Agers believe that we can remember our own infancy. So having your foreskin removed makes you less of a man? That's a lot of importance to attach to a simple piece of skin. It's not synonymous with castration. Still, how about you show me the numbers of uncircumcised vs. circumcised inmates for violent crime.
XSC3 3 years ago
It doesn't have to be remembered, matter of fact, severe mistreat that is not remembered can have even worse affects. Are you implying that one can do anything to an infant they want, and as long as it isn't remembered, then no harm no foul? Silly! You need to learn more about circumcision. It isn't just skin. The nerves found in the clitoris are found in the frenulum of the male, the nerves found in the labia, are in the foreskin of the male. Research it.
ScottJanssen 3 years ago
So if we make circumcision and spanking illegal, that will put an end to "violent crime" on a societal scale? How do you propose that be enforced? A more plausible theory is that violence is bred from scarcity and discontent, and increases with larger societies. Smaller societies where everyone is relatively well off and happy will tend to have fewer such incidents (you still will have the occasional psychotic).
XSC3 3 years ago
It could be Scott, that those societies have so many laws BECAUSE people in it are so lawless. Of course making more laws doesn't end crime, necessarily, I agree. I'm not praising police states, I just question the logic that lack of laws will cut down on human abuse.
XSC3 3 years ago
It is difficult to explain in this short amount of space. Going by your theory, since America has more laws regarding human behavior than any other, we should have zero crime rate. But you must realize, we are a society that circumcises and hits children in the name of discipline. How convenient to make those crimes legal. One bad behavior begets another. It has nothing whatsoever to do with laws. This is why a society must be responsible for their actions as a society. Understand?
ScottJanssen 3 years ago
Why would having more laws result in less crime? I wasn't saying that more laws = less crime. Literally, the more laws you have, the greater the chance that someone will break them, which equals more crime. "Crime" is simply the breaking of laws (I'm not talking about homocides, rape or theft specifically). I don't think the circumcision and spanking leads to rape, murder, and burglary either necessarily. Send me the links to the videos you're talking about.
XSC3 3 years ago

ScottJanssen 3 years ago
Which truly anarchistic societies are you talking about ScottJanssen? Of course if you were being literal minded... if you have no laws, you have no "crime" by definition! However you may still have killings, theft, rape, etc, it's just not "illegal" because there are no laws in that society! But there's still international law, so you can still condemn such actions even on a purely human scale.
XSC3 3 years ago
why the hell do we need religion?why cant we have a personal opinion about "God".why cant we be diffrent or angry without "Christians" thinking we are just controlled by the devil?religion is just a waste of time in my opinion...there just judgemental and mean to people that dont see god the way they do or dont beleive.

Jesus can because He is God's Spirit. Only God can Create from nothing.
