  • Because they're only biologically immortal, they don't undergo aging (no telomere shortening). However, if they get squashed, or starve to death, etc it's game over. The fact that we aren't overrun with Hydra reflects the amount of violence in their world, even with biological immortality, environmental lethality limits the population

  • Is there any purpose behind your name Shuppurak? Is it related to Shuruppak?

  • KRATOS CAN SLAY EM ALL BITCHES

  • if hydras are immortal, but they do reproduce

why isn't the world consumed with them?

  • coz they're tastey

    nom nom nom

  • because in greek mythology it only said something about there being one not to mention hercules in the burned the neck where he cut off a head preventing it to grow back

  • Many tree species are immortal (there are trees thousands of years old), but the world isn't consumed with them (although in a sense, the world is full of plant life) because diseases, parasites, and humans limit their lifespans. Also, what would happen to the food supply if the world was consumed by a single species? It would be gone, and the species, without anything to feed on, will eventually become extinct.

  • @antianticamper they arent immortal chop off all its heads simultaneously
