Con onor muore (To Die With Honor) is the title. One of the things that makes this opera immortal is it's ending, in which Madama Butterfly kills herself with a knife. No happy ending there, but a much more dramatic theme.
However, I love this happy ending version, too. They are both wonderful singers, but Mr. Lanza outclasses Karthyn Grayson, who is dealt the hand of dueling with Mr. Lanza. It's more of a duel where she gets stomped instead than a duet.
Kathryn Grayson was beautiful, possessor of quite a nice, light voice, but she should have never attempted to sing the love duet from Butterfly. She just did not have it!
Beautiful. I thought they both did well.
