Only in the English version. In the original version Serena = Usagi and Darien = Mamoru. Usagi means "rabbit" and Mamoru means "protector."

I once wrote out a script to a 40 episode season that brought it full circle.

well I didn't finish it but I got it started and planed out. It starts at the last scene when Usagi and Mamoru were kissing. And it ends around when Neoqueen Serenity becomes comatose. The first half is Mamoru proposing and the events up to the wedding. The second half is in the future when they stop the evil.
