My Dad always resembled Eastwood and maybe that's why I started liking him and his movies. This is the last movie I ever watched with my Dad. Dad was an old school tough guy who never tried to be tough, he just was because life made him that way. He grew up poor on a farm during the Great Depression and he fought in the Korean War where he was awarded two Bronze Stars. He had a life full of love and heartache after. He will aways be my hero. He died over a year ago. I miss him so much.
@Sharkey3331 music is about emotion, and eastwoods got plenty of that, i like his singing the most in this song actually, he reminds me of louie armstrong vocally.
8 people chopped the roofs of their cars like the beaners, put a bunch of stickers like a bunch of hillbillies, and put big gay spoilers on the car like zipperheads.
when i watched this movie i teared up when i saw sue that was all injured and cryed so much when he died! i RLLYY love the movie ♥♥♥ cried alot...im a wimp when it comes to sad stuff...and death
a true lenged....my favorite song....can't imagine this world without Clint....probably the most humble human in the over rated Holywood star collection...I have loved his work my whole life...No one compares....Love you Clint and all of your work!
Very touching song. Makes you think about life and what will be in your future, if you will still be living in the next ten years, or if you will beat a lonely rhythm in heaven with godnby your side
this song, makes me want to drive, don't know where, but some where, in a gran torino, drive the coast, blaze through the desert, drive low and slow in the woodlands, seeing sights and meeting different poeple. That's what goes through my head when I hear this song.
@TheLudwigen I think he's good but I wouldn't say he was the best actor ever. That said I think he's one of the greatest directors of all time no contest.
Just watched this movie today, I had it on my shelf for 2 years now. Blown away. I was stuck into the credits and this song came on............. I love it, tears and all...from a grown man. If the movie did not win an academy award this song should have!
Not sure if you are still here, but I urge you to rethink this - I opened your channel and noticed people had been posting despicable comments there, nobody deserves that kind of stuff. Within you lurks the ability to enjoy life, trust me, I've been where you are. Keep fighting.
Real talk...I loved the movie. It spoke volumes to me about what it means to be a man, be responsible and have great strength, conviction and a little bit of a rough edge. Seeing the end of the movie and even listening to this song struck a chord deep within my heart. I don't idolize him, but this movie gave me boundless respect for Clint Eastwood and it would be awe inspiring to meet him.
I didn't know how he sings until I saw this movie. Clint is a great singer. He sings for a short while, though. But I know he sings very well and his way of singing is very attracitve. And the melody is very beautiful. Of course the movie is great!!!
@theo26roussalier you can find the Jamie Cullam version on iTunes (he wrote the song with Clint Eastwood) but it does not have the Clint Easywood intro present in the film version.
the song and this movie always make me re-examin my own social values, my role in a capitalist and consumerist society, it makes me respect and appreciate what i have and how hard work pays off
@kevphillips02 haha I would not have asked you if I understood what you were saying so do me a favour and explain, Im genuinely interested to see how my comment has been interpreted (or misinterpreted) :) i think you have misinterpreted my saying how I now appreciate how hard work pays off as me claiming to be doing the hardest work in the world?
@flyeaglesfly22 Jamie Callum sings the song at the end...love this film and the songs amazing....clint eastwood is a true lengend....such a moving film!
I'm going to go with "The Academy is a racist institution behind the times" for $200 Alex. (For the record, I'm a white guy.) I thought it was amazing.
After watching this great film with Clint Eastwood in it, when the ending credits rolled past i shed many tears, this is a tender and touching song, really suits the mood of Walts life in the film. :')
@BOOLsheet I agree with you on that. I can't they gave the nods to some Bollywood movie like Slumdog Millionare instead of an american movie about a crabby old widower befriends a Hmong family and carries a gun like a tough marine. Now i know how you feel about having one of the best movies being ignored at the Oscars.
I've seen this movie a couple of times. Last time I saw it was with my wife she had tears in her eyes through the whole movie and I don't blame her. I tried to hide my own tears because you, I am a guy, I'm not suppose to cry
This is one of the most beautiful movie i've ever seen...Clint is just special, he can act and make direct movies at the same time..He is my favorite actor.. this movie is very sad...i though he was going to kill them all but, nope... he was smarter, and you know, he gave his gran torino, his dog... the medallion.. he planed everything long time before... that made it sad :( I love this movie, Clint is also funny :)... In my opinion, he is the best actor ever.. even when he is old,he's fantastic
Clint, you're a great actor and i marvel at that and admire it. You've played in some of histories greatest all time movies. Have a great life, Live long and prosper.

I thought this movie was good. At times I wanted to look away in fear that something too horrible was going to happen. Ending was refreshing. Not predictable. The ending SONG is addicting!

Walt Kowalski's character finishes what "Dirty Harry: Callahan started. I see this drama, Gran Torino, as a culmination for Clint.
What a wonderful actor. His presence has always been unmistakably Clint.
I hope he will find time and health to be on his side because when he's gone it will be like losing Steve McQueen, Paul Newman, and a few others.

Clint is BY FAR my favorite actor of all time. Such a damn shame he did not win for this exquisite song.
The academy is nothing but a bunch of mindless pukes that wouldn't know talent if it kicked them in their worthless ass.
Clint is a brilliant director as well as an actor.
That's ok,Clint is wise enough to know the academy members are blind to what is real.
If it has violence or any hint of racism they jump to anything but what is deserving.

film visto l'altro giorno, veramente stupendo. Clint Eastwood bravissimo e meraviglioso...ma quanto bello era?? (ed è tuttora)
