A friend and I had a craft identical to these float slowly over us on Rt 11 in South Carolina two weeks ago. These things move exactly like what we saw. It approached with the bottom parallel to the ground then turned sideways as if it wanted us to see.The fact that they are showing up in multiple numbers all over the world lead me to believe this is no military operation...as for the comment about these being flares, wait until you see one glide over your head less than a stone's throw away...

I doubt this: probably, yes, flares or lanterns, as they move like them, not like a powerful, otherworldly craft. When the object looks more terrestrial than not, it's often earthly.

The first ones look like passing boats, with bow/stern and mast lights. And the others are very simpliar to Chinese lanterns
