What I meant was a lot of Quake fans hated it and a lot of the negativity online was their doing. Despite it being a great game, those fans damaged the Quake image IMO. =)
I still have ETQW installed but don't play it too often, after I commented here I went and had a game, 7 or 8 ranked servers were full (24 players) so the server pop is still good. =D

I mean like how the design of the Titan tanks in ETQW, are older versions of the hover tank in Q4. Meaning the Makron would never have been threatened by Earth if the Strogg had never invaded in the first place. Good stuff. =D
You lost me at Rage will do... because it wont. Section 8 Prejudice is the closest I have played of similar new games out there. Though, they say Brink is similar to Enemy territory, but the scale is smaller.
@FeudalMoon he means that the characters move too fast that you can't even shoot them. that's pretty dumb because it enables people to dodge bullets. And auto aim in a MP should be abolished.
@AgentCell It should be easy to dodge bullets, and it should be hard to hit someone. That's most of the fun in games like this. Any veteran player of Quake knows that it takes actual skill to play, and the challenge of it all draws people to it.
@FeudalMoon In my belief, any FPS that allows you to dodge bullets constantly is not a FPS. It's a magic show game. Nobody should be able to bunny hop, zig zag bullets, drop shot, etc. It puts an unrealistic unbalanced childish gameplay. The physics of character movement and speed should be real and not like the DC character the Flash. Look at Battlefield Bad Company 2's character movement. It is perfect.

From what I've seen, the Dark Matter Cannon is actually an artillery piece, and it fires a massive ball of Dark Matter into the air, to which it then falls down on where you guided it. The Human Equivalent would be the Hammer turret.
Quite an awesome game actually, I can never get online multiplayer to work though.
I only have a few real problems with the actual playing, for example, it takes almost a whole machine pistol clip or more to take out one enemy, another problem is AI, you can't really rely on your teammates much.
The final issue is that you run WAY too fast, like controlling Ussain Bolt on steroids and adrenaline. If they wanted to make you run fast, a sprint feature would be nice.
Why did they give this game a low rating??? This is a good game! I 'd give it an 8 out of 10. I don't mind of it being fast paced. I like fast paced games like Unreal Tournament! This guy is a joke! There is only two things I don't like about the Xbox 360 version: 1. It gets boring after about a month then it becomes fun after a month. 2. Almost no one plays this over Xbox Live. More people play online on the PC version. Otherwise I suggest this game!

What you refer to as the 'dark matter canon' is actually the 'violator beacon'. As usual a quick made review that couldn't experience high level gaming where it's not teamplay that matters but skillz. U can win a map 'almost' on your own if u swith classes, by knowing the map perfectly, and by having most importantly skillz.
I personally give this a 8 outta 10. This is quite a fun and addicting game in my opinion. I have it on PC with the graphics set on full, it's amazing. But of course, compared to today's games, ETQW easily is lagging behind

gamesweasel rates games differently, he said this game was good, a 6/10 is good from gamesweasel, hes not saying it sucks at all. and this is a review for the console version so why should it matter if it was designed for pc? if they felt good enough about this version to release it theres no reason why people should just go, oh that game sucks but its ok since its good on pc.

From what I've seen, the Dark Matter Cannon is actually an artillery piece, and it fires a massive ball of Dark Matter into the air, to which it then falls down on where you guided it. The Human Equivalent would be the Hammer turret.

Quite an awesome game actually, I can never get online multiplayer to work though.
I only have a few real problems with the actual playing, for example, it takes almost a whole machine pistol clip or more to take out one enemy, another problem is AI, you can't really rely on your teammates much.
The final issue is that you run WAY too fast, like controlling Ussain Bolt on steroids and adrenaline. If they wanted to make you run fast, a sprint feature would be nice.
But I digress, what I'm real

AI is fail, buy a serial number for online.
google for strafe jumping, you can go about 4x faster than normal.

Why did they give this game a low rating??? This is a good game! I 'd give it an 8 out of 10. I don't mind of it being fast paced. I like fast paced games like Unreal Tournament! This guy is a joke! There is only two things I don't like about the Xbox 360 version: 1. It gets boring after about a month then it becomes fun after a month. 2. Almost no one plays this over Xbox Live. More people play online on the PC version. Otherwise I suggest this game!

First off you ass holes have no idea what they tried to do in this game. Id games made Doom and Quake ass holes. They tried to go back to the quake 3 style. QUAKE CAME BEFORE HALO!!! Damn -.-. This is a 4 star game. Halo sucks compared to any Quake/Doom/Ut. Once you have played all of those games then you will understand.

What you refer to as the 'dark matter canon' is actually the 'violator beacon'. As usual a quick made review that couldn't experience high level gaming where it's not teamplay that matters but skillz. U can win a map 'almost' on your own if u swith classes, by knowing the map perfectly, and by having most importantly skillz.

I personally give this a 8 outta 10. This is quite a fun and addicting game in my opinion. I have it on PC with the graphics set on full, it's amazing. But of course, compared to today's games, ETQW easily is lagging behind
