  • Fuck that guy and his horrible cover!!!

  • @AK4TsEv3N Could have said it better my self :)

  • @AK4TsEv3N - This version is much nicer than Los Lobos you stupid foul mouth moron.

  • @wintercat2 You are the moron because I am talking about the original version by one of the rock and roll pioneers, Ritchie Valens, that was the first La Bamba rock&roll version and was the best, inform yourself before commentig

  • @AK4TsEv3N - Proof that you are the moron, this version is much better than the original, Ritchie Valens was garbage.

  • @wintercat2 You don't have any idea of what you are talking about, I'm gonna guess that you only say it because Valens versionis in Spanish

  • @AK4TsEv3N - Wrong, bad guess. Anything Valens did was garbage.

  • @wintercat2 hahahaha ok ok whatever hahahahaha

  • WTF!!!!

  • EPIC GOOD

  • ITS NOT RIGHT BUT ITS GOOD

  • he put mambo and samba in the same line .. just a hint, Brazil is not a spanish country.

  • what is this bull shit?

  • @xTheMeanBeanx It's a translation for those of us that don't speak Spanish. It's old, it fun, and why do you care? Don't go away mad.........just go away. I assume the Mean thing is true. Lighten up and have some fun.

  • 19 people have no taste in music

  • 19 people have no taste in music

  • what about The Cricket sans Buddy, with " they call my baby labamba " from 1964, oh yeah with lyrics about surfin and waterskiing. was that in the "original" mexican folksong?

  • trololol

  • LA VERSION EN INGLES HECHO EN VEREACRUZ MEXICO SALUDOS DESDE HOUSTON TX.

  • The footage is from the movie "The Right Stuff." You couldn't drive a car on a beach today, or use unleaded gas. Ah, the good old days!

  • This is not a translation of the Spanish words! Not even close, LOL.

I like the Spanish version MUCH better, and if you know the words, it means much more than this version.

  • This song sounds a lot better in Spanish. Ritchie Valens' and Los Lobos' versions are my favorites.

  • Isn't that like Twist and Shout from The Beatles???

  • @heidikkchen LA BAMBA by Richi Valens 1952 twist and shout 1962 ,

  • @TONYLECTER actually la bamba was not written by ritchie in 1952. it is song from the 1700s! it is often referedt as the song of veracruz where it was made. ritchie made it famou in the usa

  • ahhhhhh the song got taking over by gringos they killed it

  • @KSY212andband Chubby Checker is a GRINGO????? Hahaha

  • EW

  • ya

  • LAME VERSION!!!!

  • a summer song without a doubt.

  • its great to know the words, but i think the original version is the best!

  • @fester73666 This english version has nothing to do with the original version. It is not a translation, it's a version, and a bad version I must say. Furtheremore, "La Bamba" (from Mexico) has nothing to do with "samba" (from Brazil). That is riduculous! La Bamba is sung in Spanish, samba is sung always in Portuguese. Chubby Checker can be a good musician, but he knows nothing about Latin American culture. Terrible lyrics! God bless Rithie Valens.

  • @campbra

(samba rhymes with bamba......(tongue in cheek here!)

    :)

  • 1930-1980 songs have real magic :D not like shitty naked gaga or justin homo, poor future kids messed up with crap.

  • ritchie valenz was better,,,,i think chubby should have left this one alone

  • we read the story of this the other day in school and my teacher played this song for us and i just couldn't resist listening to it again.

  • we read the story of this the other day in school and my teacher played this song for us and i just couldn't resist listening to it again.

  • @kennahaywood99 was the story about a kid who sang this in a talent show cuz if so i read that a few years back

  • @crazypooches yep that is exactly wat story it was did u read it in 6th grade

  • @kennahaywood99 no 4th

  • Personally, I like Ritchie Valens or Los Lobos versions of this song much better.

  • It's my opinion that Trini Lopez, amongst popular artists, has the definitive version of La Bamba.

  • che cagata !! ahahah

  • Yes Valens was of Spanish origin but he couldn't really speak the language and had to learn the song phonetically anyway! So calm the f**k down!

  • Gostei! Muito mesmo.

  • I Polski akcent: 1:44

    Cholera de la samba xD

  • "Para bailar la Bamba, se necesita un poco de gracia y otra cosita... Una escalera grande y otra cosita" --- Old folk music from Veracruz, México.

  • this sounds fucking gay!! this song is better in espanol senor

  • @covenent200 lighten up a bit.. I know it wasn't a real translation, but he was having fun with it. :) Some covers are better than others. That's just how it is.

  • Since I'm latino, this song is apart of me!

  • good song for parttys

  • nice cars...fucking song...Ritchie it's better

  • #LOL

  • I don't think this is exactly a translation, but they translated it and then modified it so it rhymed nicely in english :D

  • @StephTheKatWoman of course it's not a translation (I know enough Spanish to know it isn't) but he's having fun with it anyway. I think THAT was the point Chubby Checker was making. :)

  • do you know what year was this song made?

  • the La Bamba Does not translate to this lol

  • ....Richie valens was american...

    He was spanish-american....

  • wow horrible... im srry but damn....

  • I asked everyone who spoke Spanish and for some reason they said they couldn't translate La Bamba.

  • @evilmm80 my flatmate's spanish and he could....even corrected me on my pronunciation so they have to be real spanish words!

  • @ThEcAtScAmEbAcK It's probably just the people I knew that didn't know how to translate it.

  • poor english translation, but it has a pretty nice rhythm...over all still a pretty good song

  • can you upload his other single:Babycake;this song is tagalized as Butsekik

  • I love the 50's.

  • Dude... Ritchie Valens WAS AMERICAN...

Being American is a nationality not an ethnicity.

  • leave this song in Spanish people

  • noooooo

  • what the fuck nah that sucks man leave LA BAMBA alone Ritchie Vallens made it a rock song but it should never be in english

  • @chrisparties I agree, but it helps me learn the time signatures for my band.

  • lmao omg this is bad wow...amaerica had to try and make it their own i see hahahaha.

  • I remember this version from THE RIGHT STUFF, which is where the video images come from at the beginning of this clip. It may not be the best version of the song, but it fit perfectly with the JFK-era footage of the film.

  • Obviously not as good as the original, but I like it!

But why does he say La Bambo????

  • i don't think it was terrible, wasn't completely like the orginial but it wasn't ment to be a copy, like alot of our colonial music is from older english music reworded.

  • well americans you can't cover every number into english!!!

  • @plerimest yes we can. they might not all ryhme but they can be sung in english.

  • @plerimest We COULD if it wasn't for you meddling kids!

Actually, trying to sing the original lyrics phonetically with zero grasp of the meaning can be pretty entertaining too. Sanskrit ain't got hoot to say about uncut!

  • @plerimest America is #1

  • @plerimest still quite catchy tho...

  • Holy s@&t. This makes me wanna pee myself. This is terible.

  • nice cars!

  • THIS SHIT SUCKS Ritchie Valezuela's version kick the ass of this version

  • he may but this is good for the tune he was given, and the original was in spanish so pls keep bad comments to yourself

  • haha change la bamba into obama xD

  • aufs maul?

  • gross

  • THIS VERSION REALLY SUCKS!!!

RICHIE (VALENS) VALENZUELA's version is WAY BETTER!

  • im valenzuelan

  • 0_o

  • this is scene from "The right stuff" (cocoa beach) and this song fits perfect with everything on the screen!

-of course this is not the best version ;)

  • This does not translate the version of La bamba in spanish. The spanish are very passionate and some of those words you can tell like Soy Capitan Captain duh. I'm taking spanish 1. Just started.

  • He wasn't that chubby, you know.

  • That's not what it means

  • haha to me chubby checker looks kinda like the guy that played La Bamba on the movie lol

  • me gusta del espanol

  • Cool! I first came across this version when seeing "The Right Stuff" when it came out many many years ago. I big time dig the movie footage of Cocoa Beach, the conga drum guy, and all the beach goers doing their thing while the song played. The blonde lady that looks up at the camera at :20 is a real cool bit in the segment! Thanx for posting this tune in it's entirety, m1garand! Your posting is the very FIRST time I heard this from start to end and I'm sure glad that I did. Good job! -- Wally

  • O.o dude u got it all wron ......PARA BAILAR LABAMBA :) thats better
