i think people are too easily influenced by magazines, TV and other people in general. I especially hate music magazines/shows, i don't need to be told what's "cool" or have a certain scene rammed down my throat. I also don't like the manipulative way in which TV is used. I just don't like how in general we accept all this without asking enough questions, the main one being "do i really need this shit in my life??".
"Drink more water" seems to be a bit more on the neccesary for human life side than exclusively for teenage girls, but you get credit for [1] not having a typical screeching American teen girl voice and [2] being coherant, which seems to be lacking these days. >_>
Working out also releases endorphins. And actually, goddamn, it's way fucking better than chocolate because even chemically, you'll feel better. And you've hit it on the head, magazines exist to sell magazines. That's it. They prey upon the tendencies and interests of their audience. Period. And there isn't shit we can do to stop people from liking what they like.

I was recently researching an essay for uni and came across a 1950s add for underwear meant for girls around ten years of age. The bra was padded and the strapline for the ad was "Now she too can join the man trap set!" I couldn't speak for a few minutes after that. So this kind of advice has been going a while - it might take a bit longer for society to dump it.

my advice is 1) learn martial arts, self disapline, mental and physical strength, to defend your whole being 2) learn self preservation to steal sneak hide do what it takes to stay alive. 3) work tward the future, always move forward with dreams goals ideas missions everything in the direction of happiness!
