@brandonwalus1 I kept plastic covers on the gears. The bearings actually stayed pretty clean, since I used the ones with the teflon seals. Keeping some compressed air around to blow things out helped.

how much aluminum parts are you using? because yours can take a real beating. i just ordered a micro hi-tec servo for mine i stripped the original. and for me the sand paddles turned into snow paddles that have tacks in them.

The 2000mah batts run for 30min+, and as long as you don't spin the rubber off the rim the 6-cell NiMH did 44mph steady with tall gears. I never tried a 3-cell LiPo, you'd be in the 60mph range if you could hold it steady.

depends if you have a fully inclosed transmission. if not then eventually you will burn out gears. and its also not good to get sand in the motor.

well if you are willing to spend a lot of money on repairments,buy the micro t because it can break easily if you are not careful. the only thing i know about the mini t is that is can go only a bit faster. but not much. but the micro t is REALLY fun to drive.

hey mate, awsome video!....i just got a new mamba 6800 combo but i cant get reverse to work. it seems to accept all my commands when first callibrating to my radio(forward, reverse, neutral) but when i go to use it, the red light comes on the esc but i get no reverse movement. any ideas on what might be the problem? thanks..

You have to program it so you can get it to reverse. look in the book at programing it it looks hard but it really is not. also try holding it in neutral for TWO seconds then try reversing

Also make sure the motor is wired up correctly. When I first got my brushless, couldn't reverse, but accidentally discovered I had to rotate the wiring around.

The Mamba motors are basically sealed, so that was not an immediate issue. Eventually that motor did die, but I don't know if it was the sand or because it got run in a lot of 100*F temps and got overheated a lot.....
