@josephfleck Oh really ? Because I'd like to get rid of the fat that's on my muscles and I thought I could do Insanity every day + cadio... What do u think ?
@AnAcidKing Insanity is Cardio, you wont have enough gas to do more after ur done I promise. My recomendation is to do insanity but only if you are not too fat, i mean like 25-30% body fat, it is high impact and u may hurt ur back, knees ,shins , if you are too big start with p90x first then for 3 moths then do the insanity program
@fhdjsahfdjsha lol the first time i did insanity i was about 30% fat.....i quit. now im even worse about 40% fat and im doin insanity again...but i keep up fine i just push through and ignore the "inconvinience" aka pain. so i dont think it matters if your that fat because you are goin at your own pace, but then again i used to work out 6 days a week and was in good shape and im young, so if your older then yeah the extra fat might put extra strain on your knees and back.
@AnAcidKing You can do a split training session. I did a 2mile run in 15mins before the workout and I was regretting it haha. It all depends on your goals but eventually your body will eat up the muscle to help recover so eat right.
insanity is totally insane but not only can you lose weight and get fitter in the workouts but you will see a change in your daily finess.. you feel a lot healthier and also surprisingly more awake (surprising because the training is very tiring) plus not eating as much is really easy because you don't want to eat anything fatty after a workout and if you eat a fatty meal before you'll feel how weak that makes you and never do it again=)
Oh, I love Shaun T so much, such a sweet guy, so good at what he does and so easy to workout with. Ya I have been doing insanity for about two weeks now and it is brutally hard. You can't be a mental midget, you have to have heart and determination.
@JoanaSmith1980A Really? I am thinking if I should do Insanity or p90x, or whats cheaper, i have been doing the 10 min trainer and did lose weight and gain a little muscle i love it, but I want more, so I dont know.
Damn I thought I used to be in good shape when I was younger. Now Insanity Month 2 is kicking my ass. He's fabulous! He keeps you going and going. Personally I like him much better than Tony Horton I just wasn't into P90X soo glad I switched it for Insanity which is FUN and challenging. Also P90X tells you to buy every beahcbody product out there were as Insanity is all about using your body weight. Rev Abs next!
My recommendation: Use insanity to drop the weight (with maybe some dumbells on the side). Then use p90x to tighten up once the weight is off. Maybe you can do regular p90 before insanity to prep yourself for insanity since it's really hard if you don't have enough strength to throw your body weight around.
i am amazed that even though his workouts are pure cardio he is not as ripped as Tony Horton. Maybe Shaun T has not a good diet. I am more ripped that Shaun t. I just play soccer and work out. Im doing p90x to keep fit and I like the insanity concept but He is just not ripped.
@GSmiami Cardio is just really for losing weight; strength workouts are when you are to be more ripped. No need to brag "I'm more ripped".. it depends on what you really do or whatever. Insanity is for people to just push 300%, all the way through. Each workout is different for everyone. :)
@cindayylay you clearly dont know what you talking about. CArdio exercises get you more ripped than strength workouts. And you dont always lose weight, you lose body fat. and i am not bragging, I just said what it is.
Go look at Ton y horton. He is 51 and he looks 10 times bettern than Shaun.
Like I said I am surprised that shaun is not very ripped. for the kind of exercises he does, but diet plays a big part in loosing fat.
@GSmiami To a point. Muscle burns fat so if you're doing only cardio you're not building your metabolism up so that you won't gain the weight back. Cardio helps you loose the fat so that you can SHOW your muscles. I'm sure that Shaun T would be crazy ripped if he was doing a crapload of weights since his body fat is obviously low.
@Alexandra7622 he looks very good, but trust me Ive seen more ripped in my own mirror, like i say abs are made in the kitchen, not in the gym. nutrition is key it you want a lean body. Insanity is a good workout to get conditioned, and every everybody is different, so if your happy with t shaun method then good , but i strongly recommend p90x over insanity.
@GSmiami Let me put it to you simply. Cardio burns more calories then strength work outs. Running a mile burns far more calories then doing 20 pushups does. Because cardio burns more calories, your body takes the calories from your fat when it doesn't get enough from your diet (hence why it helps you lose fat). Strength exercises add mass and/or strength (hence the name) to your muscles.
Being in shape and having a nice body are two very different things. Tony goes for the body, Shawn goes
@lighttekku I think it is unfair that you say that just Tony goes for the body and I assume you want to say Shaun goes for the the fitness. I think you havent tried p90x, it is not just push ups, its an all round workout full of calorie-burning exercises. P90X makes you fit, strong, and ripped. Insanity fails to build strength and lacks exercises for an all round body, It is pure cardio ,you burn fat but decrease muscle mass as a result. I prefer to be strong and ripped than just slim.
@GSmiami The pushup was not directed to P90X directly, it was more directed towards that sort of workout in general (substitute pullups for pushups and it's the same theory). Sorry for not being clear about that.
I own both P90X and Insanity and have completed both programs twice and I'm working on a third round of Insanity right now. The entire POINT of P90X is to give you MUSCLE MASS, not STRENGTH, there is a huge difference between building muscle mass and building strength. Take
@GSmiami gymnasts for example, they are strong but thin, as opposed to body builders who are built like rocks. If you look at the description for P90X, it flat out says that the program is made for building muscle mass, not for losing weight, as opposed to Insanity in which you can allegedly burn 1,000 calories in a 40 minute (or so) workout. Insanity is a "Total body transformation" or in other words it helps you lose weight and gain muscle strength.
@GSmiami Attempted Insanity, for it is far more then just a cardio workout. If you eat right, you will not lose muscle mass as a result of cardio, this is a proven fact that cannot be argued. It is like claiming that oxygen is not essential for humans to survive.
I prefer to be strong and athletic, which I think you would tend to agree, since, you know, you play soccer, which involves a lot of cardio and agility (which P90X does not provide much of). Sounds like you're shooting yourself in
@GSmiami for being in shape (hence the fact he used to be a TRACK star). I would bet millions of dollars that Shawn T can run longer and faster then Tony Horton.
Please stop pretending to know about working out, you are no-doubt confusing many youtubers.
@lighttekku probably he can buy Shaun is more than 20 years young her than Tony, Simply Tony Horton and P90X is beter, and trust me I am not biased, I have both programs. I dont pretend I know how to work out. I am an athlete, play soccer, have been working out since i was 15 and I currently hold a personal trainer license.
@GSmiami I have both programs as well and have completed both programs twice. I am currently doing a 3rd round of insanity. I'm 19 (as of today) and am a musician with a passion for staying in excellent shape. And uhm, according to your previous concept, you like the concept of Insanity but haven't tried it. And you're how old, and what state do you hold a personal trainer license with?
@lighttekku exellent shap could be average to some. why dont you specify more?
I am 24 weight 175 and I have 7% body fat. Play soccer and workout frequently and have a balanced nutrition. I really like the concept of p90x but it doesnt beat the gym, it is an alternative though for busy people. I see insanity a great program for conditioning drills for soccer or any sport. but i will not give me a complete body. I will just make me more conditioned.
@GSmiami I am 5' 10" 167lbs with 7% true body fat and 9% false body fat (I know, you have no clue what that is).
Ok, the statement that you just said about how P90X doesn't beat working out at a gym just shows me where you're at. Let me put it like this, working out at a gym usually involves doing what is called power reps, you do as many reps as you can with the most weight you can. It is for BULKING up, NOT for getting into trus shape. It's about getting the beach body, not about getting
@lighttekku you have no clue whats your saying please stop talking like ur a fitness counselor im not debating with you anymore, you are too immature to have a decent conversation and you don't have any evidence that supports your arguments. by the way, a gym in not limited to only power reps and bulking up, for your information.
@cindayylay thats true and what ever workout suits you better for you is the best one.
but anyway some how tony Horton is way more ripped than shaun t. it seems that shaun t gained some weight. when he was doing hip hop abs he was really ripped. why did he gain body fat when he left from hip hop abs for an "insane" work out. my guess is nutrition. poor nutrition is not gonna allow you to be ripped no matter how much you exercise.
so glad i bought this, because it sure did get rid of most of the fat on my waist. month one is pretty fuckin insane, but month 2 is even crazier just because its long and requires a lot of power.
shaun t does a better job instructing than p90x's tony horton.. Though i love them both. im currently doin a hybrid. Using p90x's resistance days with insanity's cardio. Im starting to see that waist fat burn off.
@1995tono well p90x is if you skinny and you want to be ripped and big, but insanity is for those flabby/fat people who want to get skinny and be fit. plus i heard from users that in p90x you don't sweat as much as in INsanity.
You're right, that's why I quit p90x (after 2 months and switched to insanity. p90x is very lacking in cardio, and is more for people who want to tone and build upper body muscle. I would recommend p90x only for people who are already near their ideal body weight and just want to build up some muscle. It's not really for sweating and losing weight.
I'm finally to the point where I dropped off the month 1 stuff from my program. Instead of doing a complete cycle then doing another I'll just double up on the month 2 (ugh, so intense) stuff for a cycle. Needless to say I'm in the best shape of my life now. MAX Interval Plyo and MAX Cardio Conditioning are BEASTS.
@007seahawks It is a really hard workout program, this is the truth. But! It is really work. If you do this every day, you'll see the results very fast, it'll change your body, you can be stronger and you can get your best shape of your life. just keep strong in a mentality way and it will work!
@007seahawks Today my wife I just started our 2nd month. To do Insanity you do not need any equipment. You DO need plenty of room. You will be jumping A LOT. Honestly, expect it to be tough. I equate it to my days in bootcamp. ***Please make sure that you're fit enough. I know men & women who were 50 -75 lbs over weight who've completed his exercise, but I've also known some who had stop due to bad joint pains & ankle sprains (i.e. injuries).*** A workout partner would be GREAT. I "love" it.
That's beyond a true statement. The two months are worlds apart as far as insaneness is concerned. Month One, I kept saying, was nucking futts!.. I'm not sure if words exist to describe month Two...
@THEMIGHTYNOOB45 they have some on ebay or you can do what I'm doing and start with his hip hop abs workout. I got it for 9 bucks and its helped a lot
It's funny 'cause there's so many Shaun T haters out there n none of them can face these insanity vids. They may look easy but trust me even the warm up is incredible.
You think u sweat in month 1 of the insanity program just wait until month 2....omg! U will be soaked down to ur underwear...I kid u not! Max recovery in a few hours....easiest workout out of month 2 but still gets u soaked...lol! Dig deep!
this workout is the most pain i have ever brought to my body but if you commit with the workout and the diet plan you will see results but you will look like you just came out of the pool because you will sweat gallons of water
@atltallone907 Wow Tyra looks fab! I have just purchased my Insanity. I can't wait to get going but I have a stiff neck. I will start a body transformation video blog when I get going as I plan to make a grastic transformation. I have 3 stones to lose and I'm determined to do it. Tyra's transformation is definitely motivating.
@tigger7740 Eating healthy is only half of it. You need to get exercise to be overall healthy--get your heart rate up and keep your muscles in tact over the years. Exercise has also been proven to help with a wide range of disease prevention--I believe there's research that exercise is related with delaying the onset of Alzheimer's, which has NOTHING to do with the way you eat.
Insanity is a legitimate program that people SHOULD do. It's much better than magical diets that only hurt you more.
this is retarded. just keep it simple, why go through these stupid motions? When you can get better results using weights/bodyweight and doing cardio outside or the treadmill.
@Arminder Uhh... were you paying attention? This program forces you to use your own body weight. The way it's done may look silly, but it works a wide range of muscles. Sometimes the silliest looking things gives the best results.
Also, interval training ties in cardio with the training. This isn't a great example of how Insanity works--he's demonstrating moves done in the video, but it's all done together.
@ShimaGenki All I am saying is that there are more effective ways of exercising, that don't require jumping around of long period of time and doing goofy moves. One can burn more calories if one spent the same amount of time walking/running outside. Plus I highly doubt, in fact I am certain, that shaun didn't get into the shape he is in by doing these type of exercises.
@Arminder Actually, I've heard that walking kind of runs you into a dead wall. Running? Well, I'm sure it does burn a significant amount of calories. But how is it not efficient to roll weight training and cardio into one combination?
I'm sure that Shaun didn't think, "Let's make them do a bunch of ridiculous moves and burn calories." He developed a program that targets numerous muscles in a variety of exercises in an intense program.
What I'm trying to get at is that it works well, so what?
@ShimaGenki First of all any kind of extra movement will burn calories. A couch potato will burn calories if he/she jacked off a couple of times-so even that will work eventually. Secondly, there are effective ways of losing weight and then there is the most effective way of losing weight. Obviously if one wants to lose their weight the fastest they should do whatever is most effective, such as, focusing on cardio to first lose some weight and then if necessary/desired incorporate weights.
@ShimaGenki Lastly, these programs (P90X or Insanity) are fundamentally flawed, in the sense that, that they require individuals to be in decent shape before they start. There is a reason they never show anybody who is out of shape working out in their commercials. When someone is out of shape they shouldn't kill themselves by putting their body through such rigorous motions, when they can keep it simple and lose weight effectively. Continued...
@ShimaGenki Continued... Even if somebody is in decent shape they can get in better shape faster, if they did effective cardio such as running/walking outside or the treadmill and lift weights.
@Arminder That's totally all right! Maybe I do this too much for my own good, but I like having conversations/debates with intelligent life, you know?
Yes, I definitely see your point. I think the problem I have with traditional methods is that there's no real setup, and it's often ineffective because people don't know how to set up a proper workout routine. Plus, it's inconvenient to have to go to the gym. With Insanity, I do it in front of the computer before/after work. (cont.)
@Arminder I think I was more just defending that Insanity works, and so what if it looks ridiculous? (And when I'm not completely out of breath, it's actually fun... but I'm also weird, haha.) I always found myself unsuccessful with running and weight training.
But you're totally right. You have to at least be minimally fit to even start Insanity. I'm not saying you have to be buff, but you can't weight 250 pounds and unable to carry yourself through one routine. (cont)
@Arminder So I suppose, that's the flaw. If you're desperate for results, you gotta first get to a point where you're fit to do this at all. I'm not exactly in the greatest shape (I started Insanity two weeks ago, lol) but I'm at least able to huff and puff my way through it and modify where I can.
But I do believe that if you can do it, it's effective. I've already lost significant weight compared to before. But whether or not it's going to make me stronger, I'll have to find out.
@ShimaGenki Yea, I guess if there is a certain workout that gets you moving then that is the best workout for you. I can see people getting caught up in making their own workouts and never actually getting to working out. The nice thing about insanity/p90x is that there is no guess work, just put in the DVD and workout-no excuses. I tried p90x and hated it, then, I simply started running and got much better results-cardiovascular and weight loss wise.
@ShimaGenki I myself have been working out for about 3 weeks and I have seen great results with combination of cardio and heavy weights. I am still getting really sore but i need to get a better control on my eating. Anyways, good luck with insanity and I hope it works out for you, just stick with it.
I wonder why they dont use this workout on "The biggest looser" ........just a thought to ponder

My recommendation: Use insanity to drop the weight (with maybe some dumbells on the side). Then use p90x to tighten up once the weight is off. Maybe you can do regular p90 before insanity to prep yourself for insanity since it's really hard if you don't have enough strength to throw your body weight around.
Senshi2k6 1 year ago
i am amazed that even though his workouts are pure cardio he is not as ripped as Tony Horton. Maybe Shaun T has not a good diet. I am more ripped that Shaun t. I just play soccer and work out. Im doing p90x to keep fit and I like the insanity concept but He is just not ripped.
GSmiami 1 year ago
@GSmiami Cardio is just really for losing weight; strength workouts are when you are to be more ripped. No need to brag "I'm more ripped".. it depends on what you really do or whatever. Insanity is for people to just push 300%, all the way through. Each workout is different for everyone. :)
cindayylay 1 year ago
@cindayylay you clearly dont know what you talking about. CArdio exercises get you more ripped than strength workouts. And you dont always lose weight, you lose body fat. and i am not bragging, I just said what it is.
Go look at Ton y horton. He is 51 and he looks 10 times bettern than Shaun.
Like I said I am surprised that shaun is not very ripped. for the kind of exercises he does, but diet plays a big part in loosing fat.
GSmiami 1 year ago
@GSmiami To a point. Muscle burns fat so if you're doing only cardio you're not building your metabolism up so that you won't gain the weight back. Cardio helps you loose the fat so that you can SHOW your muscles. I'm sure that Shaun T would be crazy ripped if he was doing a crapload of weights since his body fat is obviously low.
Alexandra7622 1 year ago
@Alexandra7622 he looks very good, but trust me Ive seen more ripped in my own mirror, like i say abs are made in the kitchen, not in the gym. nutrition is key it you want a lean body. Insanity is a good workout to get conditioned, and every everybody is different, so if your happy with t shaun method then good , but i strongly recommend p90x over insanity.
GSmiami 1 year ago
@GSmiami Let me put it to you simply. Cardio burns more calories then strength work outs. Running a mile burns far more calories then doing 20 pushups does. Because cardio burns more calories, your body takes the calories from your fat when it doesn't get enough from your diet (hence why it helps you lose fat). Strength exercises add mass and/or strength (hence the name) to your muscles.
Being in shape and having a nice body are two very different things. Tony goes for the body, Shawn goes
lighttekku 1 year ago
@lighttekku I think it is unfair that you say that just Tony goes for the body and I assume you want to say Shaun goes for the the fitness. I think you havent tried p90x, it is not just push ups, its an all round workout full of calorie-burning exercises. P90X makes you fit, strong, and ripped. Insanity fails to build strength and lacks exercises for an all round body, It is pure cardio ,you burn fat but decrease muscle mass as a result. I prefer to be strong and ripped than just slim.
GSmiami 1 year ago
@GSmiami The pushup was not directed to P90X directly, it was more directed towards that sort of workout in general (substitute pullups for pushups and it's the same theory). Sorry for not being clear about that.
I own both P90X and Insanity and have completed both programs twice and I'm working on a third round of Insanity right now. The entire POINT of P90X is to give you MUSCLE MASS, not STRENGTH, there is a huge difference between building muscle mass and building strength. Take
lighttekku 1 year ago
@GSmiami gymnasts for example, they are strong but thin, as opposed to body builders who are built like rocks. If you look at the description for P90X, it flat out says that the program is made for building muscle mass, not for losing weight, as opposed to Insanity in which you can allegedly burn 1,000 calories in a 40 minute (or so) workout. Insanity is a "Total body transformation" or in other words it helps you lose weight and gain muscle strength.
It is quite clear that you have never
lighttekku 1 year ago
@GSmiami Attempted Insanity, for it is far more then just a cardio workout. If you eat right, you will not lose muscle mass as a result of cardio, this is a proven fact that cannot be argued. It is like claiming that oxygen is not essential for humans to survive.
I prefer to be strong and athletic, which I think you would tend to agree, since, you know, you play soccer, which involves a lot of cardio and agility (which P90X does not provide much of). Sounds like you're shooting yourself in
lighttekku 1 year ago
@GSmiami the foot mr. soccer star who thinks cardio is so terrible and burns so much muscle mass.
Might wanna re-think your strategy, just saying.
lighttekku 1 year ago
@GSmiami for being in shape (hence the fact he used to be a TRACK star). I would bet millions of dollars that Shawn T can run longer and faster then Tony Horton.
Please stop pretending to know about working out, you are no-doubt confusing many youtubers.
lighttekku 1 year ago
@lighttekku probably he can buy Shaun is more than 20 years young her than Tony, Simply Tony Horton and P90X is beter, and trust me I am not biased, I have both programs. I dont pretend I know how to work out. I am an athlete, play soccer, have been working out since i was 15 and I currently hold a personal trainer license.
what about you my "friend"?
GSmiami 1 year ago
@GSmiami I have both programs as well and have completed both programs twice. I am currently doing a 3rd round of insanity. I'm 19 (as of today) and am a musician with a passion for staying in excellent shape. And uhm, according to your previous concept, you like the concept of Insanity but haven't tried it. And you're how old, and what state do you hold a personal trainer license with?
lighttekku 1 year ago
@lighttekku exellent shap could be average to some. why dont you specify more?
I am 24 weight 175 and I have 7% body fat. Play soccer and workout frequently and have a balanced nutrition. I really like the concept of p90x but it doesnt beat the gym, it is an alternative though for busy people. I see insanity a great program for conditioning drills for soccer or any sport. but i will not give me a complete body. I will just make me more conditioned.
GSmiami 1 year ago
@GSmiami I am 5' 10" 167lbs with 7% true body fat and 9% false body fat (I know, you have no clue what that is).
Ok, the statement that you just said about how P90X doesn't beat working out at a gym just shows me where you're at. Let me put it like this, working out at a gym usually involves doing what is called power reps, you do as many reps as you can with the most weight you can. It is for BULKING up, NOT for getting into trus shape. It's about getting the beach body, not about getting
lighttekku 1 year ago
@GSmiami stronger. Please stop talking now. Thank you.
lighttekku 1 year ago
@lighttekku you have no clue whats your saying please stop talking like ur a fitness counselor im not debating with you anymore, you are too immature to have a decent conversation and you don't have any evidence that supports your arguments. by the way, a gym in not limited to only power reps and bulking up, for your information.
GSmiami 1 year ago
@GSmiami If you would like I could post some evidence for you? I just figured you didn't need it, seeing as you're a fitness expert.
lighttekku 1 year ago
@cindayylay thats true and what ever workout suits you better for you is the best one.
but anyway some how tony Horton is way more ripped than shaun t. it seems that shaun t gained some weight. when he was doing hip hop abs he was really ripped. why did he gain body fat when he left from hip hop abs for an "insane" work out. my guess is nutrition. poor nutrition is not gonna allow you to be ripped no matter how much you exercise.

jellyboy123 1 year ago
so glad i bought this, because it sure did get rid of most of the fat on my waist. month one is pretty fuckin insane, but month 2 is even crazier just because its long and requires a lot of power.
indian838 1 year ago
shaun t does a better job instructing than p90x's tony horton.. Though i love them both. im currently doin a hybrid. Using p90x's resistance days with insanity's cardio. Im starting to see that waist fat burn off.
Huero082886 1 year ago
p90x is way better
1995tono 1 year ago
@1995tono well p90x is if you skinny and you want to be ripped and big, but insanity is for those flabby/fat people who want to get skinny and be fit. plus i heard from users that in p90x you don't sweat as much as in INsanity.
indian838 1 year ago
@indian838

@007seahawks It is a really hard workout program, this is the truth. But! It is really work. If you do this every day, you'll see the results very fast, it'll change your body, you can be stronger and you can get your best shape of your life. just keep strong in a mentality way and it will work!
Zitalullaby 1 year ago
@007seahawks Today my wife I just started our 2nd month. To do Insanity you do not need any equipment. You DO need plenty of room. You will be jumping A LOT. Honestly, expect it to be tough. I equate it to my days in bootcamp. ***Please make sure that you're fit enough. I know men & women who were 50 -75 lbs over weight who've completed his exercise, but I've also known some who had stop due to bad joint pains & ankle sprains (i.e. injuries).*** A workout partner would be GREAT. I "love" it.

chuckylarmz 1 year ago

Arminder 1 year ago
@Arminder Uhh... were you paying attention? This program forces you to use your own body weight. The way it's done may look silly, but it works a wide range of muscles. Sometimes the silliest looking things gives the best results.
Also, interval training ties in cardio with the training. This isn't a great example of how Insanity works--he's demonstrating moves done in the video, but it's all done together.
ShimaGenki 1 year ago
@ShimaGenki All I am saying is that there are more effective ways of exercising, that don't require jumping around of long period of time and doing goofy moves. One can burn more calories if one spent the same amount of time walking/running outside. Plus I highly doubt, in fact I am certain, that shaun didn't get into the shape he is in by doing these type of exercises.
Arminder 1 year ago
@Arminder Actually, I've heard that walking kind of runs you into a dead wall. Running? Well, I'm sure it does burn a significant amount of calories. But how is it not efficient to roll weight training and cardio into one combination?
I'm sure that Shaun didn't think, "Let's make them do a bunch of ridiculous moves and burn calories." He developed a program that targets numerous muscles in a variety of exercises in an intense program.
What I'm trying to get at is that it works well, so what?
ShimaGenki 1 year ago
@ShimaGenki First of all any kind of extra movement will burn calories. A couch potato will burn calories if he/she jacked off a couple of times-so even that will work eventually. Secondly, there are effective ways of losing weight and then there is the most effective way of losing weight. Obviously if one wants to lose their weight the fastest they should do whatever is most effective, such as, focusing on cardio to first lose some weight and then if necessary/desired incorporate weights.
Arminder 1 year ago
@ShimaGenki Lastly, these programs (P90X or Insanity) are fundamentally flawed, in the sense that, that they require individuals to be in decent shape before they start. There is a reason they never show anybody who is out of shape working out in their commercials. When someone is out of shape they shouldn't kill themselves by putting their body through such rigorous motions, when they can keep it simple and lose weight effectively. Continued...
Arminder 1 year ago
@ShimaGenki Continued... Even if somebody is in decent shape they can get in better shape faster, if they did effective cardio such as running/walking outside or the treadmill and lift weights.
Arminder 1 year ago
@ShimaGenki wow this is kinda getting strange/weird/out of hand!! haha!! I think is my first serious conversation over the net with somebody.
Arminder 1 year ago
@Arminder That's totally all right! Maybe I do this too much for my own good, but I like having conversations/debates with intelligent life, you know?
Yes, I definitely see your point. I think the problem I have with traditional methods is that there's no real setup, and it's often ineffective because people don't know how to set up a proper workout routine. Plus, it's inconvenient to have to go to the gym. With Insanity, I do it in front of the computer before/after work. (cont.)
ShimaGenki 1 year ago
@Arminder I think I was more just defending that Insanity works, and so what if it looks ridiculous? (And when I'm not completely out of breath, it's actually fun... but I'm also weird, haha.) I always found myself unsuccessful with running and weight training.
But you're totally right. You have to at least be minimally fit to even start Insanity. I'm not saying you have to be buff, but you can't weight 250 pounds and unable to carry yourself through one routine. (cont)
ShimaGenki 1 year ago
@Arminder So I suppose, that's the flaw. If you're desperate for results, you gotta first get to a point where you're fit to do this at all. I'm not exactly in the greatest shape (I started Insanity two weeks ago, lol) but I'm at least able to huff and puff my way through it and modify where I can.
But I do believe that if you can do it, it's effective. I've already lost significant weight compared to before. But whether or not it's going to make me stronger, I'll have to find out.
ShimaGenki 1 year ago
@ShimaGenki Yea, I guess if there is a certain workout that gets you moving then that is the best workout for you. I can see people getting caught up in making their own workouts and never actually getting to working out. The nice thing about insanity/p90x is that there is no guess work, just put in the DVD and workout-no excuses. I tried p90x and hated it, then, I simply started running and got much better results-cardiovascular and weight loss wise.
Arminder 1 year ago
@ShimaGenki I myself have been working out for about 3 weeks and I have seen great results with combination of cardio and heavy weights. I am still getting really sore but i need to get a better control on my eating. Anyways, good luck with insanity and I hope it works out for you, just stick with it.
