I really wanted to get this sword until I found out the government banned swords in the UK because some years ago one guy used a curved sword to kill somebody.
Contemplating buying it anyway and getting it sent to a friend who can then ship it to me labelled as something else.
@Ashwgun Yeah I ended up buying this the other day, just waiting for it to arrive. Another question, do you use oil or anything on it to keep it from rusting? I see you made this video awhile ago so I was wondering how it holds up? I don't know much about maintenance or anything and just wanted to display this in my living room.
@Xander756 nice, I really don't know a ton about sword maintenance, but it doesn't see much exposure, except the occasional handling. But I am sure if I googled it I could find some sites.
You are so lucky to have got that sword. I love the wheel of time series (I'm only on the 4th book right BTW) and would love to hang that sword in my room. Too bad my parents probably wouldn't let me buy it.
@iamcondescending well techniquely it was first sword fight with Ishamael, because they had a small fight in first book. Yeah it could be his second sword, though his second Heron has a fairly plain looking hilt, this sword is a bit fancier than Jordan's description, but good call!
@iamcondescending I was just reading Brandon Sanderson's website and he says he should be finished with book 13 by december, but no date for release, or about the 14th and final book.
They're stopping production? I've got to hurry and get mine, then! That's about as bad as when they stopped production of the Drizzt Do'Urden swords. Hopefully I'll be able to get my Assassin's Creed Fighting Knife before IT gets pulled.
well I read an article that they stopped production in 2005. But the odd thing is that my certificated of making says it was made this last year, so not sure what to believe.
I'd say that what they were currently selling was just excess stock, but that doesn't sound right since I couldn't imagine this being an unpopular sword. Same goes for the Jack Sparrow Cutlass, also by Windlass, that's Limited Edition, but has been going strong for years and years.
I think the braveheart sword is just referred to as William Wallace's sword. It might also be a bastard sword, I'm not entirely sure. I have 2 swords myself.
@TheJediExile22 It is actually considered a Claymore, Scottish Claymore. Bastard swords are typically just a hand longer than a typical long sword but still as stout as a regular sword. Claymores are much thinner and have that wobble effect.
the last battle is a year away. 2012 is the year of the dragon!

I was thinking of getting this but was looking to get a display stand for it. Do you have one that you would recommend?
