It's actually a Casio PL-120

The software is called Ableton Live 7. I'm still playing the piano...the software is recording the notes I hit and I choose which instrument I want to use in the software.

Not sure what you're background is, but if you're unsure what I mean do a bit of internet research for the phrase piano midi

Hi FreeRider...the keyboard is a Casio PLX-XXX (the XXX means I don't recall what the actual model # is). The sound you're hearing from the keyboard though is not being generated from the keyboard.

When I record I record MIDI into my recording software and I use the software's MIDI Grand Piano for the piano sound. It's no different than hearing the keyboard itself, it's just a much cleaner sound.

I love that slight twang in your voice it really gives this cover a bit of an "edge".

On some of the notes I would cringe and go "oh no he's not gonna make it and is gonna be flat" - but each and every time you pulled it up there and it sounded great!

Big congrats on playing and singing so well at the same time.

Quick question - did that Mic you have set you back much? I quite like it's sound even with crappy youtube lossy sound.

I appreciate the compliment...really I do. I can't touch John Mayer with a 20 mile pole. The guy is just such a talent. But I appreciate what you're saying mlyon. John Mayer has such killer songs...it's fun to try and put a different spin on his songs. I think the piano gives the song a bit of a different feel. Still upbeat...but a different sound.

Hi bluesoul...no that's not my dorm. It's just a small 3rd bed room in a house I'm renting with a roommate. Piano and singing and everything the like is really nothing more than practice. I don't think the idea of "natural talent" really applies. I think it's more just commitment and practice. Best of luck to you with your music! It's really good to hear that you're getting into piano. You'll love it. At times it'll be frustrating while learning..but just stick with it. Thx for watching
