  • awesome I always loved that tune greetings from Arkansas!

  • Thanks for posting. I'm going to learn this one.

  • very nice

  • Cheesy or not...always a classic.

  • I want these tabs!

  • Thank you from Berlin!Love it!

  • it is videos like yours that give real value to youtube and the internet. thank you for this contribution!

  • i love you....maybe

  • I love your playing style---I ned to practice playing melody more--ha! I find myself sticking to simple chords and way simple melody---need to branch out and learn more--

  • this is beautiful. well done.

  • Effortlessly played. Great style of picking, minimum movement. A lot like Norman Blake. Great song, great playing.

  • What afine bit of playing. How this Ludwigtrap compares this to looney tunes is beyond me but to say it could be worse and be linked to Deliverance beggars belief. Deliverance is not only a classic movie but the duelling banjos sequence is immortalised forever in true hillbilly style. Bluegrass is music of the people - highly enjoyabel, expressive and intricate in its delivery. Play right on.

  • @vocalist1952

He compairs it to Loony Tunes easily... Ever watch Bugs Bunny? Ever heard of Elmer Fudd? Well a lot of time when Elmer Fudd comes into scene they will play Arkansas Traveler to try to give you a sense of the fact that they are trying to portray him as a dumb Hick. A little research goes a long way in making it so you don't look stupid in the things you post.. You should try it sometime.

  • My favorite capo is kyser

I play this in the key of c

Does anybody know the rythm to this?

  • I dont play it in B. I just do the normal key(G i think? i havent been playing long) But i also start with teh 2nd string.

Very nice guitar, good sound too.

  • Sorry that you would describe such a beautiful tune as "cheesy". You sound like some sort of apologist - and God knows we have enough of THAT in this country!

  • It's a great tune but most people associate it with Looney Tunes or Laurel and Hardy.

I guess it could be worse, it could be associated with Deliverance.

  • How in the world does this playing NOT deserve the full six stars? I like the bluesy twist too.

  • sounds great....what type of guitar

  • Thanks,

The guitar is a Santa Cruz Tony Rice model.

  • thanks so much for the slow-up, i have to learn to play it for my guitar class final :/

  • very nice. i like the slow up and the camera angle.

  • I wish I was a ba-by bumble-bee!

  • can you play blackberry blossom in the chord pattern

  • What kinda of capo are you using

  • McKinney/Elliot capo

  • Are those very good capos? because i'm looking for another one because mine is getting old. Hope somebody can help.

  • The McKinney/Elliot is the best capo I've ever used though if you're not up for spending $120 I'd recommend a Paige for about $20.

  • Thanks ludwigtrap , I think it's great that you take the time to show how you do it .Fine playing !

  • Very very nice. Thanks for sharing how to play these songs along with your musicianship and talent.

  • Putting the tablature up would be a great help. I would like to learn from your video.

  • nice syncopation on the chorus

  • Too bad you can't have that tabbed out to go along with such a great video!

  • Tab is available at my site: seanray (dot) com

  • fine instructional video Five Stars

  • this would go really well with a banjo too.

  • So what type of Strings do you use?? I think i use 12's...but they are way too heavy for my Alvarez!!

  • I'm using 13's at the moment.
