@qtzully Actually their selfishness and self-absorption is what made Seinfeld a smash hit. Seinfeld was a bigger hit in conservative areas of the country like the Bible Belt than in Blue States. I believe it was Seinfeld himself who said that he thought it was because people in the South and Mid-west thought this was how New Yorkers were anyway so it not only made them laugh but confirmed what they thought about New Yorkers to begin with...
