  • some website mentioned it was Brian Jones birthday yesterday first thought who cares hes been dead for 40+ years. Then I realized he would have been seventy, remembered this video about Keef saying that you just know some people wont live to be 70. Since keef is undead and all, when next December comes along (his big 7-0) we he be considered among the people who lived to 70?

  • I have no words for this. In fact, I have tears.

  • keef's a son of a bitch!hahaah nobody believed that he was going to be 70,but he cheated death haha, coolest person alive!

  • dont comment on brian jones groupies none of you knew him keith shouldnt of took his ole lady

  • @flakbac I don't know if you've ever seen an interview with Anita Pallenberg, but she's quoted as saying Brian was abusive to her and Keith couldn't take seeing that anymore. Maybe we all don't know these guys, but that's something straight from the mouth of the 'ole lady.'

  • @Kaprrricius Keith was never the knight in shining armor but a pawn for a manipulative and abusive bitch. Anita was nothing like the rest of the women around the Stones and didn't need to be "rescued". She wanted to play with the head of the leader of the band. Brian was no match for her and he had no power. Keith was in love with her, he was more of a challange than Brian and had the power. Keith betrayed Brian but he was lucky that Anita didn't succeed in destroying him.

  • @atticthoughts I never thought Keith rescued her - that was simply a recounting of the events from her pov from an interview. I know what a strong willed woman she was. I just think it's short-sighted to say anyone stole anyone, because people make their own decisions. Even if she was a 'manipulative and abusive bitch,' she was a driving force to that band. I'm sure everyone involved would have bad/good things to say about each other. Human beings and their relations are complex things.

  • @Kaprrricius I totally agree with what you say. Every thing that happend back then has helped to shape what was and what would be with the Stones. What I wanted to say with my comment was what you already knew. Anita was never a victim for Brian's violent side in the way other women had been. She was totally in control and was violent herself. But people tend to see her as a victim because she use that as an excuse for what she and Keith did. Then she treated Keith bad as well afterwards.

  • @atticthoughts Yeah there was some serious self-destruction going on during those times. Though I also believe a lot of love and beauty...which came out in the music. Have you ever seen the film Performance before?

  • @Kaprrricius Yes, I have it on DVD. The love scenes always make me think of the song You Got the Silver. Poor Keith... But what you say is right - all the negative and positive things that went on gave us the fantastic music.

  • @atticthoughts Yes I have it too! Soooo good, one of my faves. I catch something new every time I watch it. Late 60s were the best... so inspirational!

  • @Kaprrricius I totally agree. I always say I'm nostalgic about times that ended long before I was born mainly the 60's-early 70's. If you like weird 60's movies then I guess you would like Wonderwall as well. It's very 60's and has got a great indian score by George Harrison. :)

  • @atticthoughts Ahhh George is my favorite! I have an album of chanting he did. :) I'll have to check out Wonderwall!

  • I don't like Keith Richards.

  • ritually killed at 27....

  • Brian was a great instrumentalist but he couldn't write music to save his life. He was a little shit as well and that certainly didn't help.

  • @CityslickCaptain Brian wrote music for a soundtrack and produced an album. He wasn't more of a shit than others at that time. Winners write history.

  • I THINK THAT AFTER BRIAN THEY WERE

    THE "WALKING STONES" RATHER THAN

THE "ROLLING STONES", IF YOU KNOW

WHAT I MEAN, THE ROLLING STONES

    WITHOUT BRIAN ? IMPOSSIBLE !

  • brian was a nice guy,,,, not a bitch you idiots!!!!!!

  • @SuperMiro73 He wasn't a "nice guy". But he wasn't half as bad as the glimmers want him to look either.

  • Poor Brian :'(

  • The Rolling Stone's music wasn't nearly as good after Jones was out of the band. No more 'She's a Rainbow' or 'Paint it Black' caliber of songs with him gone, not even close.

  • @guyNbluejeans the best rock and roll band comes after he died, with mick taylor.Music? Check Let it bleed, exile or sticky fingers

  • @laspenasdelfenix To each their own, my friend. But I'll stand by what I said just the same.:-)

  • dontcrydontcrydontcry

  • It is so sad and unfortunate, but I believe in the end that Brian had no real friends that truly knew him or cared for him ... however "The Golden Stone" is still alive, and forever young in our memories. ♥ Brian ♥

  • I dont get it was hush money paid ? Nobody ever was arrested for the murder of Brian Jones ? why?

    Re open the case

  • Charlie is the most caring of all the Stones. I never have liked Jagger and Richards. They are both self-absorbed and ugly as hell. I saw them in concert once and that was enough for me. Their sound system was horrible. I understand that Brian may have had issues, but his bandmates should not have turned their backs on him. Selfish pricks (minus Charlie).

  • kinda like Bon Scott/...

  • Been to his grave in 1985.It should be a national shrine.

  • After reading Keith Richards bio. He didn't party nearly as much as people think. He said he would do one line of coke and it would last him all night. The amount of drugs he would do in a week Ozzy would do in hours.

  • The Rolling Stones was Brian Jones' band, always was. Richards and Jagger could of given a rat's ass about Brian and that sickens me; the man was a genius, and the biggest influence on that earlier Stones sound.

  • @xDeadMisfitsx yeah he ws but he also was selfish

  • @PrimalStones Oh, so I guess that you knew him?

  • @xDeadMisfitsx Oh, i've read books. He stayed in one hotel the rest of the stones in another. He also got more money.

  • @PrimalStones How did he have more money? Jaggers/Richards wrote the songs = the money. Anyhow if he did, he started the band...he should get the bigger cut. I'd wanna stay in a seperate hotel from Mick and Keith as well.

  • @xDeadMisfitsx When they first started touring, strigtly R&B. Why would you? You're in a band you should stay as one

  • @PrimalStones They (Jagger, Richards and Jones) were all selfish pricks and envious at each other.

  • This is depressing.

  • Another "friend", Frank Thorogood?? I don't think so! He was someone who worked on his property, and the one who probably killed him, from everything I have read.

  • Mick did him in

  • Well....we reap what we sew...

    in the company we keep.

  • what's the name of the song 0:55?

  • Charlie Watts ripped brian pretty bad in other interviews i've seen, Richards too, surprised to see such a 180 degree flip flop tone here.

  • Keith was in studio...probably putting down riffs for Shine a Light. People deal with tragedies in different ways. Exile did have it's genesis in '69...

  • dude he died during the greatest time of his life... summer of 69, holy shit!

  • R.I.P BRIAN JONES

BORN FEBRUARY 28, 1942~DIED JULY 3, 1969 WE LUV AND MISS U DEARLY BRIAN

BRIAN JONES DIED AT THE AGE OF 27: GONE TOO SOON...

  • R.I.P brian jones the legend of roliing stones,we love you

  • @BektyRomero what a myth brian jones has turned into. Why do people feel the need to build up people who die young.

The Stones were Mick and Keith almost from the start. By the 1966 Jones was the least important Stone and he blew it all by himself. It was his own fault that he was impossible to play with. Nobody elses. They should have kicked him out earlier, and they were alot better in everyway after he left.

  • @45arther HAHA!!! behave! you clearly haven't looked into your history! even in 68-69 when Brian was at his all time low he was still joint popular stone!! and as for 64-67 he was the driving force in the band! he started the whole thing he motivated keith and mick, in 66-67 he made keith and mick's songs his own with his amazing range of instruments!!

  • @Spiderrico123 please. mick and keith wrote the songs, arranged the songs, and sometimes if they wanted an extra instrument added they would tell Jones to do it. The Stones improved greatly without him. Stop the hype.

Calling him the driving force of the band from 64-67 is funny stuff.

  • @arther1045 It's not that they improved without him, but they became different musically in some ways which was part of their evolution and getting out of their experimental phase, which wasn't only to do with Brian. Mick & Keith were into 'Satanic Majesties' (which I love) as much as anyone. But to say they were 'better' later is subjective a viewpoint as it depends on one's taste. Personally I think the Mick Taylor years are their 'best' but that only means my FAVOURITE if I have to choose

  • @arther1045 You know, the albums say arranged by the Rolling Stones and not by Jagger/Richards. There is no "hype". It's you who don't have your facts right and that my friend is funny stuff.

  • @Spiderrico123 As a Stones fan since the 60s, I think that you and that other person who are in dispute are BOTH right ; Brian DID blow it because in spite of his musical aptitude being unquestionable, him being initially a powerful force in the band AND popular with fans up until the end, he was emotionally mixed up from the start and was difficult to get on with. He was pretentious, arrogant, immature, provocative, alternately charming and cruel and nasty and he destroyed himself physically

  • brian no die! he´s live in brazil! in rio !.

  • Brian did beat up Anita Pallenberg you know? keith richards girlfriend, she went to keith because, brian was violent, and also threw beerglasses at her, etc.

  • @Baardnick dont beleive everything you hear from people in and around the stones in the 60s.. they like to portray brian as something we wasn't ALL the time.. the general belief around Brian was that he and Anita had a very violent and drugged up relationship which swung BOTH ways, im by no means condoning what Brian allegedly did but remember he can't talk back... which many of the people around him in the 60s now like to do and see it as fashionable to say this and that and that about Brian.

  • @Spiderrico123 hmm. true.

  • @Baardnick Very true!

  • People who knew Brian and Anita say that she was a mind bender and Brian's mind was easy to twist and turn in anyway she wanted. She was not a victim but a very strong femme fatale who loved when she had made Brian go bananas with anger. Brian in his turn was an idiot for beating up women but when it comes to Anita she was just as violent as he was and she enjoyed it.

  • @Baardnick she was NO angel. Don't only look at one side because she's a woman.

  • id really like to hear more from Bill and particularly Charlie, they paint a very different picture compared to what the glimmer twins say who hardly even give Brian a ounce of recognition or credit and its a disgrace. Keith, despite speaking with respect in the 70's, now likes to talk about brian as if he was worthless and mick never ever has said anything positive about him at all!

  • I pray the truth will someday surface concerning the night of Brian' death.

  • mick and keith didnt even go to his funeral!! that is shocking and so disrespectful! especially Keith!! he had no reason/excuse! this is what angers me about the Glimmer Twins, yes i love them and their music but as people, i never have the same respect as i have for Bill, Charlie and of course Brian.

and @richievegas01 - i need to see this!! i will look hard for this on dvd :)

  • I wish they'd issue this on DVD, 25X5, my video of is worn out. The archive footage is excellent. Interesting in this how Bill says Keith was working in the studio so he didn't attend Brian's funeral, in The Stones' official biog it claims that he went. Bloody liars, airbrushing history like that. Charlie's comments are perceptive as ever.

  • @richievegas01 was this video a extract from a whole video about brian jones??

  • @FlapJack2206 No, although that's well overdue! Be good if the BBC did a doc on him. 25X5 was a doc on The Stones' history issued in 1989, on their 25th anniversary. Released to plug the Steel Wheels LP too. There's some really good stuff on it, like this. A lot of the clips are on You Tube nowadays but it does a really good job of telling The Stones' story. Might have a look to see if it's on DVD.

  • charlie watts was right when he said that they took everything away from him when he was sacked from the stones as he was the stones

  • @8757kathy They really did not take anything away, he gave it away. If you listen further to what Charlie had to say is that Brian was not a very nice person. He chose drugs over music and it cost him his life.

  • this is too sad

  • :( Brian Jones forever <3
