The vehicle is a mitsubishi delica. It's a 4wd yes but it's still a van. It does sit quite high but it's most certainly not something I'd take serious off roading.
I know the lake Im from BC yeah thats a puddle Stave is a man made lake its also a shithole where retards gather anually to destroy their vehicles while intoxicated this has something to do with its proximity to maple ridge.
@XxClemsonTigersXx They are. It's a Mitsubishi. I'm not sure what they are called, but they are an imported right hand drive. I've seen convoys of them up there.
@XxClemsonTigersXx Unfortunately it is. People seem to think they're for real off roading just because it's a 4wd... It sits quite high but it's not made for serious stuff.
@ufofan1980 You can buy used japanese imports in BC now, 15 years old and older. You can buy them online, and get them shipped over for an $1100 fee. There are some dealers too
YEAH BOY! TWIST YOUR FRAME ON YOUR TRUCK! YOUR A FUCKIN GENIOUS ARENT YOU! if you cant pull it out right with what you got, call for help, dont fuck up your truck in the process YANKING IT LIKE THAT CAUSES MAJORRRR problems in the long run lmao! get a v-8, you wont have that problem!
@Richard416304 The problem's in the traction, moron. Not the power. 4runners are stupidly cheep and if your cheap ass can't afford to have some serious fun then enjoy shopping at kmart for your wedding suit :).
@emptycoffin OK if you want to argue about finer details, if you take a heavier duty truck, most likely it will have more power, stouter axles, and lower gears. Therefore, everything is going to be alot more stout and it will make things like this easier. So when i said more power, i meant not a light duty 4runner, im talking about something like a heavy dty dodge truck or something like that. I tell you what, i wouldnt have to yank and im sure my Dodge Ramcharger would pull it out no problem
I can't believe he yanked with tailgate down, that was just asking for a clevis to the back of the head, lol.
Was something jacked up on the drive line, or was the idiot actually holding the brake when you were yanking back that time?
I had some guys with 35" tires and lockers try yanking my CJ out of some ice once, but they did too much damage so I sent them off until my buddy's stock chevy could get there, we just used that & a jack.
I can see people doing that. I've learned you need to give people very specific instructions during recovery operations. If for no other reason than to keep them safe. I don't know that lake or the situation, but If I thought that water was deep, I don't think I'd even let him stay in the truck. I think we had 5 or more people die around where I live this winter from falling through the ice.
@radagenais According to Pacific Coast Auto Imports pacificcoastjdm /review/mitsubishi/delicastarwagon it weighs 1760 kg for the gas model and 1830 kg for the diesel. However, I'm sure they vary year to year and with options packages.
@l337pwnage I own two Delicas. You checked some importers website. We regularly weigh out vans on the scales when heading out on road trips. With no load we can get them down to 2100kg. Ready for a weekend in the bush pushing 2400kg. Kitted out for overlanding with extra fuel tank we get them up to 2500kg. The GVW is 2505 although we upgrade our suspension so we can probably afford another 250kg.
@radagenais As far as vehicle specs, I will put my money on a business that sells them for a living.
I've found off road forums posts of guys who's 4 runners tip the scales a over 2300 kg, weight depends on how you gear it out.
I consider all that light, tho, since my daily driver is over 3,000 kg with just me and 1/2 a tank of fuel in it. I hope I never get stuck badly with that thing, lol.
hahaah That was probly the funnyest thing i had ever seen at stave I was there that day with another buddys and his truck Pretty sure thats us in the back ground near the end of the video
it was in there for a least an hour, pulled the glow plugs out and cranked the engine over to pump the water out,but the starter pack it in,towed him home.
that 4runner works pretty good, i didn't think he'd find enough traction on that snow especially after spinning. that van must be from japan (not just built there-but used from there), my wife's uncle in calgary has a toyota crown majesta sedan-V8 rwd right-hand driver from some dealer that gets used cars from japan. i drive a truck throughout b.c i see a lot of right-handers driving around the lower mainland. good job fishing'm out haha

my f550 could have gotten that piece of crap van out w/o a problem gotta love the 13.5L cat turbo with 18 gears split between two sticks and a double clutch
Owned two, including the first one in Canada; bought a second just to push offroad.
Nothing like making it further, without damage, then most other stockers available. Short wheel base and a narrow vehicle had me driving quad trails - my full sized driving buddies riding inside with there rigs left behind.
Never did push a water crossing without wading first though!
