Hey Everybody! I have just released my new electronic album “Sub-Zero” which is heavily inspired by the world and music of Alan Wake. If you're interested you can listen to the full album on my youtube channel, as well as download the album for free!
@Fang5290 Soundtrack from the limited edtion is different from the one you found, I guess. Can't say if you can find that one... ebay maybe. Though the LE soundtrack doesn't have all the songs, only some.
Alan wake has such a good soundtrack, when i first heard this song on the game it was like FUCK YEAHHHHHHHH FIND THE WITCHES' CABIN KEY, BRING IT TAKEN BITCHES HNNNNNNNGHHHH
as you will read the lyrics or listen to it (in nightmare mode as you're about to complete the manuscripts of that mode, u will fine the lyrics of the poet and the muse that pretty much explains everything including thomas zane and barbara jagger
@killoger I would guess to say that Remedy has the rights to use Poets of the Fall music in their games while the band makes a royalty off of them. Remedy and POTF still hold the creative rights to their works respectively.
@killoger Well, this is really late, and you probably have an answer or two. But, Poets of the Fall own the copyrights, they let Alan Wake use it though ^^
@killoger I can't really explain copyright laws fully, but it's like you own something, and you can select who can use it freely. While the people who use it don't really got a say in what else it's used it, they do get the right to use it.
Alan Wake is one of those games that we get ever 10 years or so the last was bioshock then wake it really makes you wounder could possible fallow such good horror games like this dead space is jump scares with loads of blood its good to see you don't needs blood and huge amounts of sc-fi action to have a awesome horror game
In the game, when Maine plays "war" by poets if the fall he notes that it is somthing that the old gods of asgard would like. Hinting they are the same people
to be honest the ending was as bad as halo 2 i mean u play a long story just 4 that line "its not a lake, its an ocean" but i cant wait till "the signal" comes out
@063099 To be fair the beginning of the game foreshadows the end when Wake is narrating and quoting Steven King; something along the line's of "the best horror is the one that is unanswered, it's the one that stays with you the longest." It pretty much tells you there's gonna be no ending conclusion right from the off!
I picked up the limited collectors edition yesterday for 64.95 eur, cheap for such a nice box. Love the book and extras and the shape of the box itself. Those who own it know what I mean.
Completed "episode 1" of the game. Great game! Glad I own an Xbox360.
@Rifer0 The big box with the Alan Wake game, book, bonus disc, etc? Then you did an amazing deal there. I live in Belgium and here non of the versions drops below 60 euro.
@Yorda27 Actually this was a BIG excpeption. In every sho in here (Czech republic) they did this price-cut that limited edition was cheaper than normal version. Normal price for normal version here is 50-60 euro too.
its really really awesome the soundtrack is awesome the book is awesome and theres a lot of interesting stuff in the bonus disc like the making of^^ but i like the box itself he most =)
The images really look great (I love how they work with light and shades) and the music is beautiful. I wouldn't have recognized it as Poets of the Fall though it sounds a bit like them, but I'll take your word for it.
@joarX Actually 2 were, third is a speculation. DLC was also mentioned as som ewhat "season 2" so it should probably close Alan's Story. And that sentence meant something different than "there will be a sequel". How can you think that it means "to be continued", well, of course it does, but it also MEANS something. Good God...
@Rifer0 Okay, I'm sorry about calling you dumb, I really am. But I undestand it like this: the entire Alan Wake game with all its season is the lake. Saying that it's not a lake, it's an ocean means it's just one of the many pieces of the puzzle. They're practically telling us: just you wait, there will be much more of this franchise to come.
@joarX Okay, now that's a good way of telling it. And i can't totally agree. The Lake is actually the source of all evil (which you can see at the very end) and someone here also said that it's one of the deepest lakes. Which I think has something to do with that line. And enough with that insults, just don't be that offensive next time. If I said something bad too, sorry.
@Rifer0 spoiler!!!!!! theres just one problem: i dont know where the darkness comes from. did tom zane wake it up or did he create it or was it already there. and does the lake have this magical power or the darkness?
ok i think i finally get what my friend told me about this song. I don't know if im right so if im not can someone please tell me what it is. Ok so he said since the anderson brothers sing this that this is when they came into contact with the dark presence and zane and zane wrote the lyrics for alan later to find the song to figure out what to do (which is the part with the witch's cabin key and that) and the rest is just what happened to zane and somewhat also alan, right? if im wrong tell me.
@Rifer0 when he says "Its Not A Lake, Its An Ocean" i think he means he'd only just scratched the surface and as for writing your own death so alice could live was genius even though she'd be with the "doppelganger" instead of the real you.
Somewhere in Episode 2 you find a sign where's wrote that Cauldron Lake is the 8th deepest Lake of the World. Because it's so deep, it's like a ocean. I think.
I've played the whole game and I think it wasn't the gameplay isn't what impacts the player as it is very repetitive; but the story. I liked the way it was made as though it was an episodic movie and a few of the songs were the best I've ever heard such as this one. Probably the best game around at the moment.
i believe that he was the author who died in the 70's :/ and she was calling him to finish what he started. He never really finished the story just set it up for it to never end. that Nightingale and sarah and barry were all fictional characters written by said author in the story he wrote and Alan just finished said authors story >.> could be wrong but meh..left to interpretation
@knightsurda SPOILERS Interesting theories here. Everything could be true. I think, that Alan just let it to continue. Leaving Nightingale as "darkness" and Rose is lady of the light. Interesting part is with Mr. Scratch, is he really in the real world? Maybe. It's not a lake, it's an ocean is a BIG mystery, maybe he meant, that the darkness is much bigger now? Oh, well, theories over theories :-D
@bullwes93 That is true. But she was holding a lantern and was tanding in bright daylight at the end...so... I guess that could be it. BUT of course, it could be the other way, just like you say.
And Mr.Scratch which Zane introduces in the last episode is the Alan that is in the real world with Alice hence the "Alan Wake up" part. Zane clearly says "This is Mr.Scratch, don't worry your friends will meet him when your gone" I think Alan is under the lake writing and using Mr.Scratch to act as him in the real world by writing it in the story. what do you all think?
My theory of the ending is that Nightingale is trapped in the darkness and Rose is the new lamp lady because if you remember when they get to the well lit room the lamp lady tells Wake to take the clicker so she didn't have to guard it anymore. I think Alan is trapped at the bottom o the lake continuing to write the story because he says he cannot just wish Alice alive he would have to give something up. I think he sacrificed himself to stay down and write....
if you paid attention to the opening narration where he talks about a quote from stephen king, to the effect of sometimes the best stories are left unanswered. From the outset it seems like the writer of alan wake wanted the ending to be left openend and allow people to come to there own conlcusions...I for one believe that he traded places with his wife and is now in the darkness as the light.
@darkfall19 I agree with you. If this game was a PS3 exclusive it would have been received so much better.
All Xbox owners can appreciate are online first person shooters, so when they play a game such as this, they just don't get it. No it's not perfect, but I still think it's one of the best games I've ever played.
Hopefully MS will lose interest and Remedy will find a new publisher to put out any future games.
@slappy0908 I believe nobody understood it completely... At least no one around me. There are many theories and each one could be true. It's best to wait for DLC, it should explain everything.
@kalasM2 It wasn't a cop, but reporter ...I think. He's definetly not a cop thoug. But he wrote about FBI agent Nightingale mainly. His name is Clay Steward. But this crossed my mind too. We can only guess.
@kalasM2 I know, I actually know quite a lot. There won't be only one DLC. The first one (coming out as you said) will actually present a different perspective on the events from AW. So another character maybe? And AW is supposed to be two seasoned via DLC.
@Pesoholichar1989 I could yeah, but I wanted to upload this in particular, because I just fell in love with it. Though you can see the rest of the soundtrack on the right ;-) . And sorry I'm responding now, i didn't notice this comment :-(
@FunkMasterTobi I dont want to raise any polemic here, but I think alan wake has one of the best stories, best soundtracks, the narrative is the BEST i've ever seen in a videogame (even better that drakes fortune) but... the gameplay itself is not great, fight shadows??? fight poltergeizt, like fridges and cars??? nah.... but is just my opinion
Alan wake must hate jackie from the darkness

@darkfall19 I agree with you. If this game was a PS3 exclusive it would have been received so much better.
All Xbox owners can appreciate are online first person shooters, so when they play a game such as this, they just don't get it. No it's not perfect, but I still think it's one of the best games I've ever played.
Hopefully MS will lose interest and Remedy will find a new publisher to put out any future games.

i didint really understand the ending of the game. can somone explain plz?
slappy0908 1 year ago
@slappy0908 I believe nobody understood it completely... At least no one around me. There are many theories and each one could be true. It's best to wait for DLC, it should explain everything.

@Rifer0

TVImasterminimoni 1 year ago
@TVImasterminimoni I finished it on nightmare almost a weak ago with no difference in the end.
Rifer0 1 year ago
@Rifer0 yep i'm checking out in some places... the histori is awesome, but i think it was be another part of ending at nightmare mode.

@slappy0908 SPOILERZZ I think the darkness is still alive and using the diner lady and the FBI agent as it's host.
There is the obvious theory that he's asleep, in a coma etc hence the 'wake up' but that would be dumb and predictable.

@kalasM2 It wasn't a cop, but reporter ...I think. He's definetly not a cop thoug. But he wrote about FBI agent Nightingale mainly. His name is Clay Steward. But this crossed my mind too. We can only guess.

Is this Marko from Poets of the Fall?????
1160200692 1 year ago
@1160200692 Actually yeah. They're fictional band "Old Gods of Asgard" in the game, but they are Poets of the Fall.
Rifer0 1 year ago
@kalasM2 I know, I actually know quite a lot. There won't be only one DLC. The first one (coming out as you said) will actually present a different perspective on the events from AW. So another character maybe? And AW is supposed to be two seasoned via DLC.

Best song of the game :) I love it!

The ending of Alan Wake is kinda sad and mysterious... A great ending!
Akavir16 1 year ago
@Akavir16 It is, though I didn't completely understand it... But some DLC will come eventually, maybe that will explain more .

FunkMasterTobi 1 year ago 40
@FunkMasterTobi Of course I do :-) one of the best games this year.
Rifer0 1 year ago
@FunkMasterTobi I dont want to raise any polemic here, but I think alan wake has one of the best stories, best soundtracks, the narrative is the BEST i've ever seen in a videogame (even better that drakes fortune) but... the gameplay itself is not great, fight shadows??? fight poltergeizt, like fridges and cars??? nah.... but is just my opinion
ReijiNakashi 1 year ago
@FunkMasterTobi Only Halo 1 is worth something imo.
