  • gah I miss you guys. Great discussions and topics

  • And Incorporated also has so far had Catwoman in every issue. Don't know how long that will last, but I'll take it!

  • Bruce is still Bats, and it will always be that way. Yes, Morrison ruined some of his origin, but I believe a lot of that to be an in story trick on Bruce. The Thomas Wayne in the recent ones isn't his father for real. Also, I like Incorporated. It's bringing Bruce back to the basics, and doing something new.

  • The only reason Dick is still batman is because B&R was selling good and DC didn't want to throw that away. Having two Batmen at the same time is stupid, but as long as the Dick and Damian dynamic sells we're gonna have one batman too many. Bruce should have just stayed dead if they wanted to keep Dick as Batman this long.

  • Have they established which Batman will be in the JLA? I would assume it'd be Bruce unless he has Dick take over for him.

  • thank you Jose! i've been saying the same thing over the last year. i like Grayson better as Batman. his learning curve was interesting in all aspects (becoming Batman, teaming with Damian and becoming team leader of the JLA). i think the rest of the DCU prefer Dick over Bruce also.

  • I actually am excited for the changes...I've always liked it when Bruce has to go around the globe to do all his Batman stuff, and thats what Batman Inc. is goin to basicly be. And besides, all the disgruntled fans who aren't happy with the changes have, i don't know, 80 SUM YEARS OF CLASSIC BRUCE WAYNE IN GOTHAM.

  • how do i check the sales for comics?

  • @pooperscoop54321 There are a couple sites that provide numbers. Check The Beat by Heidi McDonald, and BleedingCool [dot] com by Rich Johnston. You can also google comic book sales numbers to get them too. Elliott

  • @comicculturewarrior thank you

  • The DC One Million Batman actually will be making an appearance this month in Superman/Batman.

  • Anyone think Bruce should clean up Gotham before spreading his war on crime to a global scale? Kinda shades of GWB?

  • @dawingster According to Bruce, that's Dick and Damian's job now.

  • Grant Morrison's Batman run has been a giant three part experiment. The first part was Batman RIP, the second was Batman And Robin, with Batman Inc. being the final piece of the puzzle. I've enjoyed the entire run thus far and continue to be intrigued as to what comes next. I will continue to read a book as long as it remains fun and well written. If you want the status quo there's always Batman Confidential.

  • 4 Green Lanterns, 3 Flashs, 2 Batmen, and A Partridge in a Pear Tree

  • @TheLiquid44revolver LOL! Good one. It's gonna be more like 12 Batmans bopping soon, so look out! Elliott

  • i read batman inc. before 704...i ejoyed both books but i wish i had read them the other way around. i bought the return but have a yet to read it. the cover for the eturn annoyed me a bit as i left it on my table for about 10 mins and it was rolling itself up...gotta get the bag and boards

  • Can when finally get Barbara Gordon out of the wheelchair as another Batgirl? Also someone phone up Cassandra Cain and get her to suit up too. Need more batgirls.

  • I like the idea.I think its a cool idea that makes sense in my opinion.I like that Bruce is back.I like Dick as Batman, but I always felt like he was a replacement and was a kid dressing up in his dad's clothes.

  • I haven't read Batman in a while. I read about this thing in Batman and Robin and it showed that picture of Bruce in front of the camera. I want to read about his but (again) it reminds me of Civil War #2 too much. The difference here is I think the DV writers and editors actually know and intend to make something out of this and with that you knew it was a big lie and was just going to be tossed off and was about getting rid of the marraige. biggest lie of all time and the worst story.

  • @alexrogers411

I don't know, I guess I can pick up an issue and see how it goes.

  • @alexrogers411

I don't know, I guess I can pick up an issue and see how it goes.

The DC people actually seem to care about plots and character

development etc. WHich is a great thing.

  • I just like the idea of Dick Grayson as batman. A younger, more untested Batman with a different slant on things. Also Dick is smaller from what I understand and it would make sense he would have a different style of fighting which is intriguing as well. From what I understand Bruce Wayne is a big dude like 6' 2" 210 pure muscle. I imagine Dick as more like 5' 10" 165 possibly 170. I dont know im not a batman fan im just conjecturing.

  • @jbeihl1 Bruce IS bigger in stature than Dick, but it's not that dramatic. You're right in that Bruce has more of a fighter's body, while Dick is more of an acrobat. The differences are subtle, but significant. Elliott

  • Grant Morrison is the exception to the "reality" rule, Grant is all about the fantasty the thought of Dick,Tim & Damian standing on a podium next to Bruce probaly never crossed his mind

  • Thumbs up

  • A character loses his/her ID when you change the very basics that produced him/her in their iconic version.Bruce Wayne is Batman.Dick's a replacement.Period.He's a guy dressing up as a bat because someone else dressed up as the bat. Why did that first guy dress as a bat?Look at the origin story. When the essential elements of that origin go away, the character becomes so denatured that he loses his basis for existing. Thomas comes back. Essential element gone. Bruce leaves. Essential element gone.

  • i agree with jose i can take or leave batman inc

im not a fan of morrisons batman

i read the first issue it was good

  • Now = Not

  • Grant Morrison better now leave the batbooks, or this whole storyline will revert back to status quo, i.e. Only one batman = Bruce

  • Its nice that i go to the jose blog site and listen to the pod cast. And I know that this vide takes place befor podcast 3 and some where after 2. I agree with jose I like dick as batman more than bruce (even though bruce is always the orignal batman). Go Elliott on mentioning batman one million he is one of my favorite batman too. I think its great on expanding batmen around the world.

  • lol, I love that Jose has a Tony Daniel blindspot. I have to get me one of those.

  • 11:44 voice crack lol

  • I'm loving the new Batman stuff, Inc is a great idea. But of course some people won't like it because it is a lot of change for the character. But most likely everything will go back to normal in the future.

  • I loved Batman and Robin #16 however after I read it in the very very back of my mind I thought, does Batman Inc. take away from the significance of Batman? But I realized that it didn't and that it made sense. Trying to do it by himself was what broke Bruce and this point was conveyed in Batman the Return of Bruce Wayne #6. I like that there is two batmen because I love Dick Grayson as Batman and was hoping it wouldn't change when Bruce returned. Batman and Robin is my favorite DC comic and I'

  • bout bloody time elliott

  • I like how Batman is now not just in Gotham City.

It seems the Batmen are now like Green Lanterns (as in there's more than one and they can look over more than one location) which is cool.

  • Completely agree with Jose about Dick Grayson. Bruce Wayne as bats had become a caricature of his rigid ideals. I'll probably just stick with B & R like I have been. I really liked Damian in Teen Titans last week, as an aside.

  • im just grateful i wont get a batman book with 7 years of continuity or shitty writing

  • You are very late with these videos :+

  • @gradilla323 Yes. I know. :( Elliott

  • When faced with a bewildering number of choices when it comes to your favorite superhero, I always default to the writers involved

In this case it will be Scott Snyder's Detective Comics and J.H. Williams/W. Haden Blackman's Batwoman.

Two quality 'Bat' books is more than enough for me.

    IM

  • it would work in real life given his money but like you said everyone know who to sue now. so this seem like a one more day scenario. minus mephisto as he is not in the dc universe.

  • I hate Grant Morrison.

  • Jose did you read Batman 704? I actually thought it was pretty good

  • @Baec make sure to check out Jose's blog where he has his latest reviews posted! Follow the link in the video info box. :) Elliott

  • @comicculturewarrior yeah I will. I was a long time lurker at your the original blog. Maybe I will actually post something this time

  • I have been loving Dick Grayson in the DCU in the past year.

Batman, Batman and Robin and Detective Comics have been great. I am with you Jose. Over the last several years, Dick Grayson has become one of my favorite heroes.

I feel that Bruce should not have publicly endorsed Batman. Seem likes it will bring more harm than good to Bruce and his comrades.

  • And like E said as long as Dick is still Batman...I mean if people really need their Batman comics to be chronically dark and gritty, you've got Snyder's 'TEC run, and for fans of Hush and Long Halloween etc they've got TD on Batman.

At the end of the day, not every Bat title will suit everyone because they're all very different - it's a matter of cherry picking what's good for you. Which is why I have no problem with the blitz of Batbooks right now (I only want to read 2 of them at best)

  • I can't understand why people would oppose the new status quo - it makes perfect sense for a character of his skill and resources to leave Gotham and take his mission worldwide. If crime is his eternal enemy how can he expect to fight it from within just one city?

Think of all the globe-trotting Denny O'Neil stories before DKR's influence set in, as well as all the awesome team ups Batman used to have - It almost makes me angry that writers have kept Batman in his cave for the past 20 years
