"Never get rid of me...Never get rid of me...NEVER GET RID OF ME!!!" That gave me chills the first time I saw this movie, and still does. Great movie.
It is not public domain. It is still in studio copyright possession, but it has been released in a Val Lewton boxset. It's a bit pricey, but there isn't a bad film in the lot - it's worth the money. Put it on your Christmas liszt.
yes its classic. the tension between the two horror stars is great, the music pretty effective going by the standards of music they had at the time. and daniell too. a good clammy atmosphere is maintained not just by the cinematography but by those two's chemistry. too bad the trailer quality is too bright, its overexposed. other than that, most Mysterious.
Robert Louis Stevenson+Robert Wise+Karloff+Lugosi Wow! "You'll never get rid of me Toddy!" Heh, heh. As good as anything Karloff ever did, in the same class as "Bride of Frankenstein". And let us not overlook Henry Daniell's outstanding performance. I loved him in "Wuthering Heights" too.
