  • I wish somebody could put this whole feature up on Youtube again. I first saw this when I was 8, it was showed ONE time on Nickelodeon and never on TV since, but it stuck with me for several years and good thing because I didn't find the tape until 7 years later. But it's always kind of haunted me, especially the Flanders Fields poem Linus recites and at the end when he asks that 'what have we learned?' that just always sends a shiver through my body.

  • So I've been told.

Believe me, I didn't want to review anything in the first place. I wanted to make AMVs. But I guess I was the only one available who had enough resources and enthusiasm.

  • Why don't you just break out into dance and sing Failure Face to 'im while yer at it?

"I thought you might like to know that yer putting the pictures in upside-down." Sally, I thought YOU might like to know that you should have yer eyes checked. Don't you fool ME, producers. I saw the beginning: He put them in right-side up; quit denying it.

That does it. The Li'l Folks only needed TWO movies; no more. If they have another one, watch out.

  • Is this really their idea of lightening the mood? Is this their idea literally of a cruel joke? "Stop clowning around, Chuck, you're holding us up." PP, why don't you do us all a favor and butt off? Ever since this foreign exchange program began, all you and the other jerks have done is laugh at Charlie; nagged him; and overall hurt him worse than anyone could've ever done. Not the FIRST time, either. PP, yer as bad as Lucy, Violet, and the other Patty combined, with a dash of Frieda.

  • ...Too bad a certain detail keeps ruining my experience. "What have we learned, Charlie Brown?" I know I'VE learned that as long as you appeal to the masses, you can get away with backstabbing no matter HOW obvious. Pardon me if I sound insensitive, but do they mean to tell us that we should respect war veterans and remember all that they contributed to history while at the same time laughing at the torture of a poor little boy who's barely in his preteens and must've seen as much hardship?

  • I must admit, though, that it probably would've done better as an instructional video rather than a special due to its heavy dependence on stock footage. *shrug* The watercolors and spliced media are still pretty neat. Okay, Peanuts, hit me. I trust you.

    (28 minutes later)

Not too shabby an attempt. It sounded like the producers really cared about the topic and so treated it as tenderly as they could. Not too shabby at all.

  • Huh. A sequel to one of the movies, eh? Bon Voyage, no less. Well, it better make up for Charlie's mistreatment back then. How difficult can that be? We got a dedication to some of history's darkest moments, countless lives lost, and countries torn apart, all for the sake of people's freedom and more. There's no way they can screw it up, right? Sure, Bon Voyage had its share of implausibility, but I've seen worse. Maybe Charlie's hardships are finally in heaven's hands.

  • Ahh. I love this Charlie Brown video. I still have the VHS somewhere. This made me smile, thank you. =]
