  • oOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO MY BOYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY

  • Hey is there a program to control the fan speed for HP Laptops? Speedfan dosent work on mine so if you know please reply.

  • worst video ever , but thanks !

  • How frequently do I need to clean my laptop? What do you suggest? Thanks in advance.

  • Hey Jeff! Do you have a link to that Dell speed fan app that you mentioned in the video? Is it freeware? Thank you!f

  • Hey Jeff! Do you have a link to that Dell speed fan app that you mentioned in the video? Thank you!

  • Instead of buying that anti-static thingy, wouldn't taking off all your clothes and doing this naked decrease the chance of screwing it up cuz of static? :DDDD

  • @seandewar5

Wow, I haven't been on this youtube account of mine in a while and was taken back by the comments. Ha, yeah but can't you tell I'm naked.. NAKED MODE!

  • Holy Cloverfield, Batman.

  • poor quality

  • i might try this, since my laptop has been shutting down on me and gets pretty hot. and i've never cleaned the insides, so it might be pretty dirty.

can someone tell me why some people get to the fan from the back of it rather than removing the keyboard?

  • @pinkxvenom

I had an inspiron 1525 that was doing this, if your laptop is similar to this i reccomend cleaning it

There are 5 or 6 screws on the underneath of the laptop, once removed you should see the heatsinks/fans (like the "how to clean a laptop fan" vid in the related vids)

There is a small gap between the fan and the heatsink, when i got a look at it there was a small almost solid block of dust blocking the air flow, once this was remove the laptop ran as normal and still is :)

  • @Ajc176 Thanks! Yes, my computer may be that dirty too :D I have a Gateway, though, so it's a little different because I don't think I can remove it from the back. I'm going to try by removing the keyboard. I hope I don't break something :/

  • thank you

  • thanks Jeff, this video really helped me...

  • @Drash007

No problem.. I'm glad I can be of assistance..even 2 years later.

  • that's not how u properly clean a notebook... Dude, u have to take it all apart, clean connectors, check cables and pcb to check thermal effect, and of course clean/change ventilator, change CPU/GPU/chipset thermal compound and more... to make proper service to notebook.

  • i find it eaiser to remove the entire fan to clean it. tho u have to open the laptop alot more and is tricky for sum ppl

  • Thanks! exactly video i was looking for

  • allso you need a brush and microfiber cloth

  • hmm i'd put something in the fan if i were you=) like... a tooth pick =) then it wont move when you blow on it =D

  • It is better if you can remove the fan. That way you can get all the dust off easier. :)

  • dude, excellent video.

Mt baby is a Dell XPS M1710, I'll try do clean it out after I solve the HD click of death issue, and the GPU malfunction it has...

I wish I had seen this video Before Nov.08

  • i have an asus and i cant put the keyboard off , i can get the back of...

    thats a good idea aswel?

    and look whats underneath that?!

  • wat was that program couldent hear

  • i just vacuumed mine :P

  • My hp dv4 1155se is a nice laptop, overheats a lot; the processor gets to 105C. That's higher than boiling.

So I'm going to try dusting this machine that seems to want to make me sterile.

  • get a tripod

  • I wonder is this is the solution, because i have a hp pavilion dv41225dx and the fan its really loud. I mean, i compared my dad notebook (which is a pavilion 550) and the fan is so quiet!!!! I'm really worried, because sometimes it shuts down randomly :(

  • it means that your heating duct is full of dust, cleaning it out, properly.. should do it

  • yeah my hp pavilion dv6 is pretty loud too :b

  • you can buy coolers that plug in via usb google that

  • Shutting down randomly could deffinantly be a sign over overheating.

  • well what about the heat sink their where the most dust located often clogged with dust

  • LSUUU!... LOL i just noticed that sticker on your pc... woooo!

  • can doing this improve how your pc runs?

  • thats the whole point of cleaning it, yes

  • there are many ways

  • that is my laptop. except mine has a webcam and a WWAN card. i think dell xps has the best cooling system; i can actually feel a strong current of hot air coming out of the vent. when i cleaned my, i used vaccum cleaner with the small nozzle. it worked out pretty well, suck out all the stuff that got stuck in the radiator and then i used a cottom swab to wipe the dust off the surface of the fan blade.

this is really helpful for people who own an dell xps m1210.

  • no offence dell lovers but to me a dell xps is the onyl good dell pc the others are all junk to me i have a toshiba whitch is great and a dell xps which is good too

  • my notebook cooler sound horrible yesterday so i open it its full of dust and the fan is stuk.

  • i dont have that push up thingy next to the keyboard.

mines just there no pulley or lifty.

    lol sorry.

  • You have the exact same laptop I do.

    *watches*

  • Son of a bitch why move components just fucking clean the laptop

  • Hey you guys I can't hear my fan running? I have a dell insprion 1525 and I'm panicing can someone tell me if I should just follow this video?

    :( Help

  • dont buy a dell ever again

  • why?

  • i know from personal experiance that their rubbish, cheap and when they break which is often its a nightmware to get dell replacement parts (such as motherboards). a friend of mine had an xps that burnt his house down while he went for a cup of tea.

  • That's a lie.

  • im a computer technicitian

    i know my stuff

  • I am talking about the fire. And obviously you aren't even mature because you can't spell.

  • your argument is very shallow. where is the evidence to support that i am immature? Just beacuse i misspelled technician the first time round does not make me immature

  • Also, you are immature because you are making up stories of a Dell XPS burning down a home. Unless you have proof you are being immature about why you dislike a certain company (Dell).

  • I have told you before; im a computer technician with many years experiance and many computers under my belt. as for your requested evidence, there is plenty of stories burning dells on the internet. Do i need to make myself clearer? or is it you thats being immature this time around

  • Not of Dells burning down homes. But, whatever, your only 16 and you claiming years of experience as a technician so lying in this doesn't help at all. I am only 15 and I won't make any stubborn/ignorant claims as so.

  • You dont know me personally; i have been doing computers since i was 10. so thats 6 years of computing experiance.

  • I have been working with computers since I was 8 or 9, but that doesn't mean I am old enough to be a computer technician. If anything you work for Geek Squad and you call that a computer technician job. Plus, I don't think you can even work at Best Buy until you are 18. There is no point anymore in fighting, bye.

  • I have a major part in a local computer company, not pc world or geek squad whatever that is. When i say 10 , i mean that i have been fixing computers for other people as of the age of 10

  • grow the fuck up

  • No need for expletives.

  • sorry the comments i sent were ment for a reply dont know how they turned into a comment sorry

  • Oh, that's OK.

  • Seriously, no need for the vulgarity.

  • lol why meticulous kind of bitch lol

btw love this spell check with ff its f**king awesome all my profanity is correct

  • I'm going to be honest here, if you are a so called computer technician, I'm pretty sure you would learn how to spell. And plus, since you have so much experience on here, you would not have to look up a video on You Tube, on how to clean a computer, now, both of you, grow up.

  • I love my HP notebook except its soo dusty inside and the disassembly is so complicated !

  • Me too, there isnt a way of getting to the heatsink or the fans... And you can't take the keyboard out on mine:(

  • Thanks for posting this video. Very helpful.

  • That CleanSafe is awesome!

  • Hey buddy, your English suck . How about that?

  • My lappy is one of the most important things for me. Thanks for the vid :)

  • i would fuck it up

  • lol yeah a magnetic screwdriver so that way not only can you clean your notebook but you can short out the internal mechanisms and melt your motherboard.

    LETS FUCK SHIT UP :D

  • Hi jeff... thanks that help me out alot..

    :)

  • Good video Jeff.

I have a HP DV 5200 notebook and my fan is at the far left but it is not visible once I remove my keyboard. So I instead got a Hair Dryer then set it on cold and blew the air in so any dust would come out of the ducts.

  • S 22/f/single/cam! ne1 want to see? 0

  • any fun men in here?

  • yes:P

  • good vid.

  • i would like 2 clean my like that but ill probs f*ck my laptop up if i tryed :P

  • Comment removed

  • Thanks for the advice man. I guess in some cases do what I do, not what I say, haha. Or it could be don't do as I say at all. :]

  • /watch?v=Ac0ffrJeN5g

    Q. Can magnetic screwdrivers affect/damage computer hardware?

    A. No...

I don't know anything about it myself but the guy in the vid is a pro and he says it's okay...

  • @computec1993 What does the magnetic Screwdriver? Hard Drives are magnetic-Restitent, and all the other too. I built my hiole PC with a magnetic SD, and i disassembled and reassembled nit a lot, and it still works, all without loosing Data

  • @computec1993 I've taken apart many laptops and i've always used a magnetic screw driver. It will be fine.

  • @computec1993 Cant you just unplug the fan while cleaning?

  • @munthen93 sure you can, but still, the speed that the fan will reach is way higher than during normal operation which may cause severe damage to the bearings

  • @computec1993 aah, ok agree! wasn't thinking about that.. :)

  • @computec1993 Your overreacting! what next, he hasn't grounded himself?

  • @computec1993 It is absolutely not true that a magnetic screwdriver can destroy electronics.

The magnet in it is to weak.

  • LOLZ....suckers....thats what you people get for having way over-powered laptops......my laptop is fine with 1.1 ghz p3/m and 512 ram and it hasn't ever been underpowered with what i do, and it will play wow nd halo fine......i have never felt it being hot by any meaning of the word....my laptop gets warm at most....compaq evo n600c

  • good luck playing any decent games on that mate.

  • lol do you play wow with 5 fps and halo with 2!

  • you have a Compaq? im fixing to get a compaq laptop and i have a compaq dsktop computer.

  • they are good build quality, especially the old ones.

  • Are you talking about compaq's?

  • my bf had BURNS! the next morning from our laptop after some hardcore wow time, it was funny cus it was in the same shape as where its peeling on the bottom

  • Good video Thanks for psoting!

  • Thank you very much. =) I'm going to give this a shot.

You might not want to tip the can of "air" on its side, though, because the gas turns to liquid as you spray it if you do that.

  • Yeah, I've experienced that man. If your power is shutoff, battery removed, and computer unplugged, however, it shouldn't be too serious because it dries pretty quickly. But thanks for the advice.

  • hey man , i google 18k fan gooey/guwy/gewy, every where cant find it lol, any place u know i could get it , my inpiron is givin me trouble, thanks for the vid very helpful.

  • oh got it it is (18KFanGUI ) , thanksss!!!

  • awesome video, very helpful! thanks!

  • This really helped thank you so much i have a Notebook wich overheats thx again:P

  • Sir,

I am having very bad overheating problems with my Dell XPS2. This was very helpful. Tell me more about this fan program please. Name of it?

    Thanks

  • overall a pretty good video

  • Thanks for the compliment.

  • thanks bro...i had the same problems on my xps m1210 and now it works better...you should check out a freeware called 18kfangui, it monitors the fan speed and temperature for dell laptops..cheers

  • I've actually been using 18KFanGUI since I had an Inspiron 5150 which would overheat like crazy.

  • good video, I'm gonna have to try this
