Charles Bukowski Ben Gazzara stile

Grande attore, ma non il regista non ci ha capito un cazzo di come è il personaggio di Bukowski. Non si è mai atteggiato da figaccione in questo modo.

@glahn2 non è che se una cosa non piaceva a buk, non deve piacere per te. il disappunto di hank non deve essere un pretesto per dire che il film fa schifo.... poi sei il film non ti piace proprio è un altro discorso, ma non devi farti condizionare in questo modo... purtroppo è facile chiedersi sempre "cosa direbbe bukowski in questa situazione?" , ma non vorrebbe così il veccio hank!

Questa è una lettura degna di Buk, la voce è di Giannini, ed in originale Ben Gazzarra è straordinario.. dopo avere letto tutto ciò che è pubblicato di e su Bukowski, Ferreri ha catturato l'anima di Buk e l'ha rappresentata allo stato dell'arte... anche se pare che tra i due siano sorte parecchie divergenze, ma spesso la nostra voce quando è registrata ci suona diversa..

Non ho mai capito se questo film andò bene o fu un enorme fiasco. Mi rammarico di non averlo mai visto. Gazzara però merita.

What kind of movie is this ? How is it called in english or the original title?? I didn't know that. I just saw pictures with Buk and Ben Gazzara as friends laughing together...Maybe that was at the time of that movie.Must be from the early eighties...Thank's for your help giving me the original title of tat movie...

it's from an italian director named Marco Ferreri. The movie title is STORIE DI ORDINARIA FOLLIA

It's a movie inspired by Erections, Ejaculations, Exhibitions and General Tales of Ordinary Madness, well, a part of it to be true.  Ben Gazzara is C.B himself.

Seems a little over the top..I love "Bardfly" and "Factotum"was also very good.Gazzara play "Hank / Henry " or Charles? And is it good or equal to the other masterpieces?I just saw a funny picture with Gazzars and Buk ,drunk,laughing (maybe about the auduence..) Sono assolutamente d'accordo! Ho letto un racconto di Hank (nn ricordo il titolo) nel quale, al cinema, vedendo questo film, urlava: "E' un buffone!" E infatti lo è. Ben Gazzara in questo film e il film. La penso come te (ed Hank!)

I like Barfly, but to compare the interpretations in that film with the ones in a Ferreri movie (who tended to the abstract) is misleading. It's apples and watermelons; Actor's Studio vs. neorrealism (and Ferreri came from neorrealism; but, like Fellini, he created his own universe later on).

Gazzara is a fine, terrific actor and, IMO, one has to see the compleat film in order to appreciate his performance. But, I repeat, this is not cinema about acting.

I think you're missing the point. Ferreri was never about the actors: for him, actors were (or, like Hitchcock would have said: should be treated like) "cattle". For him, close ups were rare; his films were about the grotesque side of men, disregarding histrionism.
