@CroGamer444 If its a COD recording from a pvr, open the part u want in Windows Movie Maker. Dont edit anything unless you want to and then click "Save This Video Recommended for this project" it converts it to MWV format which works better in Vegas 11. Make sure ur new project settings are at HD 720-60p (1280x720, 59.940 fps)

I'm very new to Sony Vegas and I clicked on 'Color Curves' and the new window came up like it should but something happened and it is now smaller and in an awkward place next to where the presets and video preview is, how do I get it back so it opens in a new window?

@MrRossiiiHD There should be a column of black dots on the left hand side of the Color Curves box. If you select and drag it out towards your timeline, then it should now be a new window.

hey - to slow down a video

to slow down a vedio in vegas, hols crtl & click the end of a clip & drag it closer to make it faster, or stretch it out to make it slower, you'll see a zig zag forming when u stretch or shorten it

@espeno663 If you slow down your clip using the ctrl+drag method, then after you have slowed down your clip, right click on the audio, go to properties and make sure Lock to Stretch is checked.

@espeno663 Also if you want to edit video footage audio: hit ctrl + u when selecting a clip. This will separate the audio file from the video file. Therefore you can move either around/edit them separately :) (just a tip!)
