  • De verdad increible...!!!

  • John Mc Laughlin gave me a guitar lesson

  • Atención: extraterrestres tocando la guitarra.

  • I'd say that these guys are about as good as it gets. Their absolute mastery of the instrument puts them at the top of a very short list.

McLaughlin is my favorite. What does that mean? Absolutely nothing more than that.

At that level, it's all about people's tastes and opinions.

  • :-)

  • Three top-level guitar players, what we could ask more? De Lucia has a great soul and fantastique flamenco technique, McLaughlin can play everything with his classy touch and Al Di Meola has the most incredible picking technique on earth!!

  • :Q___ I've got the cd . Everytime i listen to it, i remember what does it mean '' playing guitar ''

  • there is no "best" in art. it's not a competition!

  • @AbstractMan23

You r right brother, it is all subjective

  • Why always comparing, what is more beautiful, The piramedes of Egipt. Taj Mahal, The great wall of China, etc...? do not be naive.....please.

  • Ole ! ! !

  • All I have to say is I might be able to pull off the shit Al or John are doing, but I can't even approach the level of fingerpicking Paco de Lucia is at.

  • @Daim0th That is flamenco tecnich. If you can do the others, just have to learn the flamenco fingering tecnich... Easy to say, but not impossible to do if you can do the others...

  • All three being professional bests, Al Di Meola played out better. They do not compete. One night the magic is there, the other it is not. Paco is new to me and I am studying him now. John has been known on electric so much more with Carlos Santana and their spiritual/soulful struts in the orchestra....Utah.

  • correction:

    paco--AL--john

  • just to clear things

    john---AL---paco

    left---middle-right

  • whats the name of this song pls ???

  • from which concert this piece?

  • thumbs up for hating picks

  • this is music people....

  • ***********

  • The solo is science fiction Al di Meola, but Paco de Lucia it is a scientist of the guitar.

  • this is one of my favorite songs from three of the greats,,bravo..

  • muy bueno...

  • yeahhhhhh

  • GUITAR GODS!!!!!

  • Aplausos para estos genios!

  • is tof man gijssie

  • al di meola is soooooo good, goddamnit

  • Al Di is my favorite player because I think he's the most versatile player overall, and don't forget he also WROTE this piece!

  • 4:29 - 4:36 check that organic metronome

  • ... well.. i was thinking little more about and there is possibility that those 8 could be purists and don't like metal string guitars ..which i understand ; .i prefer myself classic sound with nylon strings .

    but completely dislike ??!! ... i still don't understand ??

  • i think those 8 who dislike did it as joke or is mistake ..is beyond my imagination for anybody ..even those who is not music expert to dislike that masterpieces .

even mediocrity brains beside good or bad taste must feel pleasure from that sound ...is natural . hmmmm.

Yup is mistake or humor for sure .

  • @stanislawjarmolowicz i totaly agree !!

  • Wow! Just beautiful!! The 8 bozos who clicked 'dislike' obviously thought they had finished watching a tribute to Ann Coulter.

  • Al gets my vote by far!

  • this is Mediterranean Sundance Rio Ancho obviusly live =P

  • the 8 or you who clicked dislike obviously have NO sense of good music... these guys are fantastic!

  • From what I saw in a special, Paco was introduced to jazz changes.by John and Al. He applied his technique and chops in a jazz setting.

  • tottaly I agree paco is awesome I mean he's shredding and keeping up with al di and he's useing a pick simply amazing, but I'am still a bigger fan of al di meola cause of his use of electric guitar. 5 stars!!!!!!!!

  • They all play different styles just for the record. And actually Paco De Lucia is not a jazz player.

So please in all fairness. Paco De Lucia has one approach which is a flamenco based. If you really know the other two players music well enough, you would see that Di Meola and McLaughlin are all over the guitar in terms of mastery.

Paco de Lucia is a master at flamenco. John Mclauglin and Al Di Meola pioneered fusion guitar amongst other styles.

  • @mardebcin he is not a jazz player but he knows jazz.

  • @mardebcin - The list of Paco’s achievements is unparalleled and his contribution to the flamenco guitar is unrivaled. Paco is a musical genius (with jazz influence later in life) who changed the course of flamenco and is worshipped by thousands of guitarists in every corner of the globe. I can also mention about his technique, how he has – totally dominated – guitar from every aspect and incorporated jazz into his phenomenal playing and compositions, but I think I’ve made my point…

  • Al di Meola looks George Michael. And his guitar sounds sort of plasticy compared to Paco's sexy warmness.

  • imagine Paco on an electric through a Hendrix phase shifter and a blazing Marshall

  • not only on that stage.

  • paco is the best..then mclaughlin and then di meola

  • i love paco's 32'nd note bursts

  • Paco is way beyond... check this out

    youtube.com/v/WgdjDgX784g&amp

  • they're a bit out of tune tssss... xD

  • Truly a genius among geniuses

  • Bad ass fuck!! No other way to describe it...

  • 2:27 to 2:35 *precums*

  • Notice only Paco does NOT have a cut out guitar,,, much harder to play those high notes. The guy is amazing!! All great players there.

  • I had the privelege of seeing the concert (that included Steve Morse) in the late 70's. I didn't know who Steve Morse was at the time....but, he blew them all away!

  • the other gitarrist are nothing compare to Paco de Lucia

  • @natito79 I have to disagree with you. All three of these guitarists have reached the 7th level of guitardom. To say that one is better than the other is asinine. You merely prefere Paco over the others. Nothing more.

  • now you share my perspective. :)

  • @natito79 , you're an idiot.

  • Saw these guys in Toronto..Friday Night in San Fran tour.

  • These guys can not be replicated. They are the best trio ever conceived.

  • I enjoy the different music styles and playing, pick out the melodies, I think this is the best par of the performance.

  • Oh the presence of Paco ...... He is the man !

  • no sincro -.-

  • fantastic transition of sounds with all the guitarists, so much feeling and passione

  • Dette er bare helt utrolig bra!!!!

  • three kings of guitarists

  • very nice. good sound and video quality! don't care who is "better" as they are all great together and I'm happy to catch this! thanks for posting.

  • Funny how their feet tap in the same speed all the time. :D

  • @MrColeClark are you serious? they're playing the same song with the same rhythm.. it's pretty obvious they tap their feet at the same time

  • @MalcomYoungJr : No it is not!^^ lol If you have no experience with playing Guitar try it in front of your pc. you can tap with your feet at every full every half and so on note... So its not obvious and i think it just looks funny cause they did not intend to do it for how it looks. Greeetz

  • @MrColeClark : uhm.. yeah I forgot to think about that XD

  • Super genial,500000000000+++++++++++, jos

  • Esto sí que es G3 jajajajaj =)

  • Paco is clearly the best guitarist oon that stage.

  • @jstiegelmar On that particular night maybe, but they all have had good nights and bad.

  • @jstiegelmar Al Di Meola musicaly is much better, he is a REALLY open minded guy.

  • @jstiegelmar All 3 are masters. Why make it a race?

  • @jstiegelmar 'Stage' meaning 'world', right? :p

  • @jstiegelmar no contest!

  • @jstiegelmar john mclaughlin carried the tune throughout so how can you say paco is the best?

  • @jstiegelmar music's not a competition

  • @jstiegelmar

    you sir, are tripping.

    Its obviously Mclaughlin

  • @jstiegelmar skill wise yes, influence wise that's debatable.

  • @jstiegelmar i think john is

he is the more versatile guy not just in that trio, i think in hte world!

he created word music and he's of course the best jazz player of history

  • @jstiegelmar becouse he is flamenco guitar player, Al Di Meola is a bit different story, but he does it well...

  • @jstiegelmar Bull Crap. John Mcloughlin is more than Paco's equal. Paco only plays spanish style. McLoughlin can equal him at that and play many, many other styles at the highest lvel of proficiency.

  • @luap42 yeah right.....paco is the master here.

  • @jstiegelmar not so clear, Al is no slouch and neither is johnny

  • @jstiegelmar After AL

  • jajajaja...deacuerdo con Keg466.....

  • different styles, different techniques... but they are avesome

  • the guy in my local pub plays this lol its awesome!

  • Al please tune your geetar next time

  • the last 2 min sucks... turns to a mess... zillion solo once <.< thats not music , beside why the 2 spanish guitars picking the strings that tough it sounds like buzzed , i know that the style meant to be like this.. but i think its no clean sound :/

  • di meola should gtfo

  • thats right. why do you get 7 bad points ? people cannot count.

  • Now thats a jam session;not a G3 by entertainment standards but a skill jam by maestro's.

  • @Keg466 k razon llevass

  • Paco es el Dios

    con respeto

  • Beautiful performance. of course as these are three of the greatest guitarists the world has thus far produced, but the video and audio are out of sync and it makes it hard to watch... still great to listen though.

  • Geniaaaaaal, comunión plena!!!!

  • I just love how they push each other on...flawless...

  • WOW!!!! amazing....

  • wt happens at 0:46, paco is the best!

  • I think John is too fast (at the moment of his first solo), compared to the general tempo. A little bit too fast... But it don't diminish the quality of the music.

That's very beautifull, a great idea to mix classical guitars and a folk.

  • niceee

  • i prefer paco and john to al di meola

  • Just when you think it couldn't get any better, three gifted men return to mesmerize the masses. How fortunate is that? Someday maybe they could add a few other gifted players on the stage to play along with them; like Larry Coryell, Pat Methany, and Alexandre Lagoya. Or even the California Guitar Trio. This is greatness!

  • Superb..!!!!

These 3 great musicians blow away any crowd....They SMOKE those fret boards.^^^^^^^^^^

    Thanks for posting this video..!

  • Ain't that 'Race w the devil on a Spanish hwy? I reckon it must be.... always amazing

  • i think its mediterranean sundance

  • no it isn't, this is mediteranean sundance

  • some time i will play like this.

Continua tocando?

  • Ma che c'è da commentare....?

  • why al di meola is smiling at the first ???

  • No importa quien toca. La musica es lo que' cuenta.

  • watch?v=2tGieanN5JQ

  • watch?v=bAiE-txajao&feature=related

  • watch?v=QibkgxkNv2g

  • Well that's good you're easy to please I guess =/ I wonder though if you think that these players here are not "feeling" the music and pouring their soul into the notes that they create? Because if so you're just plain wrong. This may be a very skill-displaying song but these guys are improvising solos by what they feel at that exact second and I think it's beautiful. On the contrary I have 8 year old guitar students that play Green Day songs with ease..?? As long as it makes you happy I guess

  • @maxartist3d your a fucking douchebag

  • fu dimondcage

  • i hate these discussion who is best and who is not...

damn, guys we are all fans of this special kind of art...

i just thank the people who had managed to get these 3 genius together on the stage. just enjoy...

  • god, damn they are so incredibly gifted it's not even funny. I always laugh when someone wants to tell me a person like dave matthews is the best.

  • Amazing!!!!!!

  • Paco plays it with so much soul. He is better than the others and I'd like to hear him play a solo!! (sun):)

  • Pure listening pleasure! This is what I love about youtube; I would never get to see/hear this in years of watching standard broadcast.

  • latin backing tracks on my tube

  • ...Or maybe Al is just looking for Pacos approval constantly. I dont know..

  • Someone mentioed that it seems as Al is competing with Paco. I have to agree. And I also think John is way better than Al, just that john is a little too jazzy for my taste.

  • Effortless. FUCK EM ALL ha ha jk

  • they're awesome but i like metallica better......

  • Try washing your ears daily....

  • eccosta2000, good point!!:D

  • HE likes metallica better. I like them both.

  • you guys should tolerate his taste in music.

but of course, musically and technically seen, kirk hammett and james hetfield can pack up and go home if you compare them with paco and john

  • I love the plastic guitar strings.

  • I will say that Al has done some great acoustic albums. Di Meola plays Astor Piazzola is a fucking masterpiece. Buy it now. But, in this setting Paco is on another level.

  • The Ovation Guitar needs to be burned. So incredibly synthetic sounding.

  • I am one more that dislike Ovation´s tone

  • If you are a musician, you know yourself that when you start to play a song...it tends to make you smile because it feels good...kinda why we play. I know when I start playing a song and its working I smile because its pleasing...not because I feel superior or able...

  • sometimes when something is working i feel so happy that i have to stop playing :)

  • I guess it's a matter of perspective. I see that smile as if it says I'm so good this is fun.

  • i like al when he is stupidly smiling at the begining

  • how long does it take to learn ?

  • Paco...does he use 3 fingers or 2 for the massive 32nd note bursts? It kills me.
