  • Smallpox was originally a bovine disease, if memory serves. The Spanish got it from their cattle, and the Indians got it from the Spanish.

  • Someone with useful information. What a rarity. lol Thanks.

  • It's true, some species do share viruses but others won't.

    Viruses generally don't jump species.

But Ducks can share with pigs and humans.

Cats and Dogs are always a good idea because they're "safe" in that sense.

I'm a zombie fan and I've have many conversations concerning viruses, prions and bacteria.

So in theory, there could be zombie-pigs. Which would be kinda lame when you think about it. Who the hell is gonna make a movie about that?

    MATT DAMON!!!

  • LOL Hopefully no swine / cat plague. 28 days later freaked me out. I cant take that shit.

  • Oh that's a good one. Same guy who directed TRAINSPOTTING.

Concerning zombies: I like the "survivalist" aspect of it. Stuff that would keep you safe even if hurricane Katrina hits, you know?

Stay safe, people. And don't panick about H1N1. Just get the shot if you need it.

  • Isnt panicking part of our culture now?

  • I guess it is. It certainly keeps tv ratings up and it sells magazines.

Home alarm system sales went up right after 9/11, although none promised to save you from airplanes crashing on your home...

It made no sense but there it is.

  • LOL. Never thought of it that way. Alarms dont stop planes from crashing into homes. Great line.

We are good at being illogical in this country.

  • I hate to quote Michael Moore, but that's from Bowling for Columbine when he's talking about the amount of fear we have on TV and such.

Michael Moore is still a douche though.

  • He has some valid points but he makes me uncomfortable. There is something smarmy about him. Douche is a good word.

  • Actually, Michael Moore, I gotta give it to him. He's good. He's excellent at propaganda.

If you ever see Bowling again, check for Charleston Heston's tie. One time it's blue, the other time it's red. He spliced two speeches together so he'd look defiant. Good trick, it works.

Someone once called him a Delta Bravo...which gave me pause. Then I thought... DB... Douche... Right! Got it! LOL

  • LOL. I agree he is good at what he does.

  • Ferrets can get the flu from humans. I think it has happened before with cats as well.

  • A coworker told me it has happened with cats before but it is rare. Still weird.

  • I heard the same thing about the pigs and the cat!!! I'll have to get my animals some masks to wear haha. I swear, I just turned 24 a couple days ago and I'm already the old crazy cat lady! I live close to the animal shelter and people think it's ok to drop off their kittens. So there are like 20 cats every morning that come running to my house when I open the door! I go through so much cat food hehe. I'm a sucker for animals... but they had better not spread the swine flu to me! Lol.

  • Id love to see pets with surgical masks. Cool picture in my head. I wish we had all of those cats in DC. Huge rat problem here. Huge in numbers and size.

  • ;D HAHAHA!

Signs of the times, better get to know Jesus ;).

  • LOL.

  • lol "shit aint fine"

  • I could have just said that and stopped there. Where's the fun in that?
