I hate this fucking level. It doesn't fit in with the rest of the game at all. The last segment, in particular, has nothing to do with problem solving and everything to do with timing and positioning your portals at exactly the right point at exactly the right time. Fair enough, I suppose. But it's so damn fiddly that you have to die about 300 fucking times before you get it right, even though the solution itself is immediately apparent. Bullshit, if you ask me. Grr.

Thanks, this was the first level I got stuck on - I know I had to open that cage but didn't know there was a red button on that glowing blue stick.  I tried shooting the stick w/ energy ball but no luck. It also didn't occur to me to catapult across the room to get the cube b/c the distance seemed WAY too far (maybe I could have gotten it, but had fatigue after trying to open that damn cage). Other part where I got stuck was shooting a portal though level 19 fan.

just a little advise for when you want to kill those robot thingies: Put the 2nd portal right where their laser is pointing at. You'll hit them in first try

tip for level 18 to get rid of the bots, aim the portal at where the bots are aiming there lazers, that way it will it the bots in their face at die right away.

a tip for aiming at the robots: just aim the portal gun at the laserpoint on the wall. that way you're always spot on!

I can't get the timing down once the energy ball goes in one portal, you have to shoot another portal, jump through it, hit the button and have the energy ball go into the receptacle all before the shield closes.

lol i totally got the companion cube in a random way, at the beginning i crouched into that hidden room to the left picked up a little box or something in there and carried it with me to the part where the sliding walkway goes across, and stood on my little box and crouch jumped to where the companion cube was

CRAP I didn't know there was a platform down there! I kept running through the sliding panel and dropping from the button platform. When that didn't work after a dozen tries, I just shot down the camera and used it to climb into the cube room.
