My LHT is a 52cm which requires 26" wheels. When I built the bike I accounted for the possibility of riding rough roads, whether in the U.S. or other, so I went with 1.75" wide road tires by Schwalbe. These tires are simply Kevlar, and NOT the heavy duty tires with the puncture proof strip. The wide tires were comfortable, and when lowering the pressure for rough roads, were compliant enough to easily roll over rocks. The only time I had flats was when I ran over the wires from truck blowouts.
You would need good Puncture resistant Tyres on that gravel Road ,it looks like Builders Hardcore. What make of Tyres are you using.I have a LHT but I have been using it on ordinary Roads.I did use it once on a 1 1/2 Mile Forest Trail and was very cauious not to burst the Tyres as it was only a 1.5 '' Contact Tyres with no Kevlar Belt.
