  • 4 assholes dislike the video.

  • to me this performance is too slow

but then at montery i feel they played to fast

its like there on a hangover here

but at montery they did what?ascid&cohke?

but for me any live hendrix is heavenly

him being a rock guitar god and all

    whatever thou saeth mr hendrix

  • Mitch is the one with the energy here.

  • 3 piece band kickin ass with no back up singers or players

  • 2:39 he steps away from the mike and just enjoys playing guitar

  • me:hey Joe

    joe: what ?

me : just hey man why only rockstars can say that ?!

  • @MinecraftSquareTV pretty sure yes. i read he tuned his guitar down so he could bend the (looser) strings more easily.

  • "yeah i guess i HAVE to step up to the mike and sing this". a half beat late. geez he looks and sounds bored. or depressed. he doesnt even bother to finish the verse, or the next one!. time for some new material and a new band. (of gypsy's)

  • Poxa o Jimi já tava pra morrer ai...

  • Hey Joe, dónde vas con esa pistola en la mano??

  • Hey Joe, dónde vas con esa pistola en la mano!!!

  • man he's really sick and tired of playing this song! and still this version isn't that bad

  • @toomermcshockey you know it doesn't matter if hje tired or something he still plays like god

  • Why does he look so sad and depressed on stage? :(

  • @zaneverovati might be because of drugs but the only one who knows for sure is the god of guitar himself.

  • @zaneverovati bored singing the same shit every night w/ the band he didnt pick but was thrown into by his english producers. i love mitch mitchell's drumming, for what it is, but it isn't funky. he never liked noel redding's bass playing much.(typical guitarist turns bassist style)he was on the verge of breaking out w/ his old mate from the air force days, billy cox on bass,& buddy miles on drums. check out some clips of his new years eve'69performance(band of gypsies)his best playing ever.

  • @markmarktarmann no man, you're not right, the best of the hendrix stuff are the jimi hendrix experience records, and Jimi picked Noel because he thought he was cool, and he was good at bass, had his own thing going

  • @Ruby2052 best songs, vocal and guitar hooks. best studio work. i wore out vinyl "smash hits" 3 times. i loved it.but for pure guitar playing genius live, it's band of gypsys. i never found any fault with noel redding's bass playing back then. but as a more mature musician now, 4 me, billy cox's playing brought out a completely different kind of playing, especially with buddy miles on drums. you have to agree it's way funkier than anything the experience did.(if you like that sort of thing. )

  • I saw him in san francisco in 67 live, free in golden gate park. No three people ever put out more music.

  • @TheDriverron that must have been like seing jesus , if I would have gotten the opertunity to see him live i would have done enything to do so , but im 14 born 97 so a bit late for that , if I would have saw him i could have died happely

  • he is just not into this performance at all. he looks totally worn out, and hacked off with the whole thing

  • thank you for the vid. rip jim

  • What is the effects box Jimi's got on the stage? I think there was a guy that made those boxes for him at the time. Now they sell them.

  • @TDS4UT

Thats a Fuzz Face Jimi reaches for at 1:41.

Roger Mayer was the engineer that set up effects for Jimi.

  • 3:05 to 3:08 - Bet Hendrix felt fine that night.

  • Jimi seems out of it, but it's still Awesome !

  • get yourself tuned down bitch! yeah!!

  • that lick or what it´s called at 1.04 I love that

  • If we had thumbs as long as Hendrix, we'd all be guitar players. He played the E because he could.

  • he died to early, greets from Germany

  • I think he was sick, anyway the energy level is toned down.

  • Modern guitarists have a sound of their own. Hendrix was a pioneer of every each one of them.

  • this is the day after. booze girls but most of all too little sleep. no energy, not even mitch. what's the point of singing all those phrases.... but we love his songs still

  • this is the day after. booze girls but most of all too little sleep. no energy, not even mitch. what's the point of singing all those phrases.... luckily we love his songs still

  • Use the thumb to grab notes on the E string. Thats how it's done. No charge for you.

  • Guitar teachers will tell you keep your thumb behind the neck of the guitar....and heres Jimi with his thumb practically overlapping his fret fingers LOL

  • Slips in a riff from the Beatles "I Feel Fine" at 3:06! Brilliant even in exhaustion.

  • @mrplavick9 he always did that...! you must be a kneeeeeeeeeewb!!! lol welcome!

  • Jimi was simply exhausted and you can just watch him.

  • there is some bored folks watching you tube.

you all need to zip your lips and just enjoy!!!

    peace!!!

  • Where you gonna run to?

  • My Grandpa was there!!

  • LOVE THIS VIDEO!

  • Yes Happy birthday Jimi!!!

  • happy birthday james.

  • Band of Gypsys was better... imo.

  • Mitch Mitchell was great!

  • its sad how people argue on all the good videos on youtube,,, expecially hendrix videos...

  • <3 the best !!!

  • i know that hate is a strong word i hate popular kids i see with other kids and preps wear peace sighns then ridculing other kids do to un popularity or being fat or something thats why we need jimi to open our minds again

  • @sytemofadownwinna oh shut up.

  • @thehomefront exactly like you your parents or gurdian makes about 25 thousand a year your wear desighner cloths your a fag and you play basketball so shut up you com drunk faggot

  • @sytemofadownwinna theres something i've needed to get off my chest for a long time now, and theres no easy way to put it,"i am your father" i am sorry i never told you sooner but your mother as not made it easy for me either. the guy you've been calling dad is not blood related to you and thats why you look nothing like him, your mother used to tell him she was going bingo with some of her girl friends but instead come round my house for a good seeing too,a full service.

  • @thehomefront ok cok master i will and ill do your pets and leave stains on the couch

  • @sytemofadownwinna is that all you got to say?

  • @thehomefront when i wanna here your opion ill take my cok out of your mouth now all the statements you said to me these poeple is probly not true you live in your moms basement smoke pot and weigh 300 lbs and jack off to taylor swift every night now shut the hell up cock master b4 i shut it for you and permently with a shot gun

  • @sytemofadownwinna calm down son, i'm sorry i was'nt around when you were growing up, its just that your mother was sucking to many black guys off, all the niggers used to line up for the old slag, i couldn't stand it anymore, thats why i left.

your mother would always dress you in girls clothes , right up until you were 12 years old, i hated it but i didn't say anything because i was to busy smoking pop, can we make a new start?

  • @thehomefront go suck a cok i dont give 2 fucks where you where were youve been go die rot be butt fucked in hell by satan let take you to brown town and smake you so hard you bleed com for a month

  • @sytemofadownwinna i hope you have come to terms in being a homosexual, its your mothers doing ,she was the one sending you to school in a skirt not me.

dont worry son, you wont have to put up with your mother much longer, i just found out the cancer as spread to her eyes. i have decided i do not want to meet up with you as i have kids with another woman now and i dont think you can be trusted around children yet, i know your still on the sex register and you must keep up with your therapy.

  • Unless he tuned down one whole step (which I've never heard him do)- this video is playing back slow. Probably adding to the supposed lethargic nature of the recording.

  • @slmccabe Jimi would tune 1/2 step down to match his voice

  • Yeah it kinda sad when you look at it cause you know he's thinking "Hey Joe" for the 30,000th time and he's obviously tired. But there's a clip from this concert where he said they hadn't played together in a while so just bare with them. His management should have been tied and beat having them them tour like that anyway.

At some point he started playing that riff from "I feel fine" by the Beatles all the time when playing hey joe

  • Mitch awesome

  • On this vid Jimi look like he's sick of playin' Hey Joe. I know this feeling.

  • Jimi Hendrix, Noel Redding and Mitch Mitchell - 3 virtuos musicians !!!

  • An unterested Jimi doing a half baked Hey Joe is a performance his later day contemporaries could never attain in a lifetime of playing. Toured to death, gangster management and the hangers on .

  • @capetown99: Man you are so right.... Poor Jimi :(

  • A very tired Hendrix...

  • @seanbl1 Still preforms better than most today tho.. lol

  • @seanbl1 STFU

  • @seanbl1 probably very wasted too lol

  • cOULD YOU IMAGINE SEEING THIS LIVE?

  • At 3:08 he plays a lick from the Beatles song "I Feel Fine". sooo groovy

  • He wasn't even into it, and totally kicked its asss........what beautiful licks. Anyone who plays, knows...... he was THE Master.....

  • 1969 is the year Jimi should have had off. Took it easy in California or Morocco. He never had a break.

  • There is a man who would rather be working on new tunes,, wow..

  • This show is typical Jimi EXP. When it was finally recorded well most of the times the gig was not on form. Either the band was tired like this or amp troubles which is also presented which nearly always pissed Jimi off.

The video is out on bootleg and also the soundtrack but its mostly instrumental. Another of Jimi's off nights on film. Actually the band walks off quickly in the end with the dj on stage giving them more time but no.

  • Hmmm do you have any idea where i might be able to find it? I really fell in love with this preformance and I would really appreciate it if you helped me ^^

  • Oh. I am from Stockholm! But I was born the year after ´69. Such a waste he died so young.

  • does anyone know if there is a CD of this performance? or a dvd i can get my hands on?

  • I have both the 1st and th 2nd concert on CD, but I´m not sellin´ them...

  • what a solo...

    ppl r so scabby

  • Love the drummer...

  • Looks sad! Hell no! he has been up all night with a pack of Sweedish axe maidens! Damn near killed him... LOLOLOL....Depressed lol...

  • Lol since im like 7 years old I always thought Jimi was saying at 1:12 ''I heard you shot John Lennon down, shot it down on the ground''

  • man each version Jimi did with a song was a whole new song in itself with different feelings and emotions!

  • la guitarra mas veloz del universo!!! unico en su especie, jimi hendrix RIP.

  • grandi... che batterista Mitchell e che chitarrista Hendrix... i migliori in assoluto!

  • he looks so sad...

  • He was a melancholy man by nature. Many great artists are.

Usually the greater the degree of melancholy (in a persons' temperament); the greater the genius.

Doesn't mean that they're always sad, of course.

  • woooo thanks Matej great vid, bolshoe spasibo!

  • ****/2?? ¡¡*****!! five stars!

  • his is tuned to d--really low--sounds cool!! or its running slow--lol

  • AWSOME.its a really cool mellow sownd

  • It's better when he re-tunes live on the BBC broadcast. "Whoaaaa" Classic.

  • Doesn't matter what Mitch looks like, he is drumming royalty.

  • @SteadyHaze yes sir he is....checkout my vid i made as a tribute to him if u like..

  • This has always been one of my favorite Hendrix tracks, but he did say toward the end that he was tired of performing it and even refused on occasion when the crowds demanded it. I still love hearing it.

  • At 2:33 does he retune? LOL

  • u can see us going to the moon that day.

  • Mitch stopped a sec

  • WOODSTOCK' YEAR ;)

  • Thanks MateJKosuth,

This gives us a glimpse of JIMI being bored w/the Experience and doing the same ole songs

and wanting to do something different and try new things. Just another piece of the puzzle of a complex man.

  • he lookd so tired, rip jimi and mitch

    peace

  • i dunno to me i think he looks lonely...i dont know how to explain it but i think thats how he feels...you can feel it in this song...its really good godly in fact...but for some reason it feels lonely...

  • the solo is just amazing

  • dude! One whole step tuned guitar and that solo is so great!

  • this sounds great. i think this is the best version if the monterey version isn't. he didn't look bothered when he played it because, it's tuned down a whole step, and when these songs in e are tuned down a whole step, then it gives it a more gloomy feeling. watch the atlanta concert. its the same way.

  • Listen man, he was wicked tired by the time 1969 came around. He had been touring constantly, with little down time!

  • He did more than 350 concerts during 3years,what a man!!Rip jimi,u are the best

  • iv red both biographies, n it was mor than that lol :)

  • wow .. thats a lot of work ..

  • @guivik rubbish, you've just pulled that figure out of the air.

    grow up

  • @thehomefront shut up,you have nothing else to say poor guy..go to study a bit more than to discuss such things like that

  • @stuntlife56 i wish i had time to study but i'm to busy running a successful business

if you own your own business i'd like to hear about it ,if not,i dont want to ever hear from you again. peoples opinions are worthless if they dont work.

  • becos he didnt look bothered in playin the song

  • what u mean?
