But what do many of them do? They go to other lakes that are popular recreation fishing lakes and purposely over-fish it. Often this happens right before the opener. Lake Milacs is a good example. I don't believe in any special land rights set aside for racial groups let alone over-stepping those rights in public.

Nomadically passing through a land on occasion (seasonally etc) does not give a people the automatic right to a permanent claim. To this day in Minnesota I am more likely to find anceint white civilization relics than Indian relics. They simply weren't many here and they weren't here long enough to build anything of significance.
The indians absolutely wiped each other out - numerous times. That is a matter of archeological and historical fact. Indians stories are still told about it today - passed on from generations by word of mouth as they couldn't figure out how to write. This is not up for debate. 30,000 Sioux claimed a land area twice the size of Norway. No people in the entire history of the world were able to hold land with so few people. A land that is indefensible in not your land.
After reading these posts I've given up all hope of a resolution. I've come to the conclusion that I'm sure most of my ancestors came to at some time. These Indians will take advantage of our goodness and when they get a sliver of power or just catch you at a moment of weakness they will leech, rob, steal, and murder. And then they will blame you for their behavior. It's too bad my ancestors didn't finish the job. Surely they knew that a civilized people could not coexist with savages.

But what do many of them do? They go to other lakes that are popular recreation fishing lakes and purposely over-fish it. Often this happens right before the opener. Lake Milacs is a good example. Land belongs to those who can successfully populate it, civilize it, and defend it. The Indians could not do this with most of American land. Nomadically passing through a land on occasion (seasonally etc) does not give a people the automatic right to a permanent claim. To this day in Minnesota I am more likely to find anceint white civilization relics than Indian relics. They simply weren't many here and they weren't here long enough to build anything of significance.

After reading these posts I've given up all hope of a resolution. I've come to the conclusion that I'm sure most of my ancestors came to at some time. @grovemnus1 -Well with the infuence of the mohawks on the U.S.constitution "we" have had an effect on how things are ran, and that is being trampled. The environmental way of looking at the earth were told to the first settlers but it was a great time of change and conflict between different European countries along with the Native Americans and the environment was not even looked at until recently, the native people have always had a concern for the enviro-issues, they didn't have money--cont--

@grovemnus1 - cont-- money, but they did share what they had with each other and it was considered "rich" to give away what you have( even today i do this at work and wherever and it does seem to come back to you) with todays rich getting richer(400 people in America control almost all the wealth) and the working(and not working) poor getting poorer, there should be more of a balance. Right now i think we are going to a global economy and we are being prepped to make less money (learn a trade)
