you would have to change the opacity to 0% wherever you want it to start on the timeline,make keyframe,then set to 100% when you want it to actually fully appear.(thats how i would do it,if its wrong then o'well just tryin to help :P)

To answer the question below, no. Masking is not cropping. When you crop, you delete that information. When you mask, you are only "hiding" the covered information. If you crop an image, the parts that were cropped off are gone. When you hide them, you can still have them under the mask, in case you need them again.

Good example is when you need to move the mask around one huge image, making it look like you're panning or moving a camera around a still image.

hold ALT and click on your last key frame - this will remove the direction points (the lines that stick out of the key frames) - so just click your pen tool and create your next keyframe and it will be a straight line....

i want to mask into a crystal ball cc snow from the after efffects presets which u can find,i draw out a circle with the pen tool but the snow appears on all the screen not just into the crystal ball.how can i get the snow fall just in the crystal ball??!?!??!
