  • did you wave back at the conductor?

  • Very nice videos, I always love seeing the old roadnames and paint schemes. On the road power and the railcars. I like the old N&W covered hopper and B&O covered hopper, the Seaboard System and Chessie System open hoppers, and the older Cryo-Trans reefers. Just stuff you don't see much of anymore, unfortunately.

  • Why is the the Slug leading the pack? Good video though, I miss the 90's so much.

  • @Robofish12 Slugs offer a quieter and cooler enviroment for the enginner/conductor because they don't have a diesel prime mover.

  • love the video...awesome catch,it reminds me of the "good ol days"!

  • this was taken one day after i was born

  • Ahh, the good old days. . . . . .

  • Gotta love that lashup, 2 slug sets and a gp39-2

  • does the road slug even have a powerful motor

  • has anyone noticed that the new CSX YN3 paint scheme looks suspiciously like the old santa fe pinstripe scheme?

  • all trains should have these horns on them they sound alot better some Gevos should have these horns

  • I'll tell ya the classiest scheme I've seen is SOUthern's Tuxedo scheme....

  • I would like CSX's YN3 if the logo on the long hood wasn't so big. If they would have kept it the B&O/C&O did, it would look way better.

  • Awesome Leslie! Also good to see the YN1s....I am gonna have to disagree with you Turbomecca...The scheme wasn't all bad once CSX got the Yellow on each end of the Unit....Their scheme was unique and it seems that CSX always gets critisized for it...Look at the Family Lines units and the Seaboard System units....They were grey as well...Are those ugly too?

  • I would have to agree turbomecca it is the ugliest paint scheme you can not even see it period the gray to me doesn't stand out more like the CSX -yn3 the one you barely can see is the CSX Dark Future paint scheme i like the CSX bright future paint scheme better than the new and improved paint scheme.

  • y is it called a slug

  • No prime mover--just tractions motors and weight.

  • nice old hoppers and is guilford still around?

  • Seaboard, then Chessie Hoppers at 1:22 !!

  • man i luv that horn!!!

  • rare lashup indeed. 2 slugs and an ex guilford!

  • Awesome!

  • was that an old guilford unit i saw in that consist?

  • Yes, a GP39-2

  • The GP38-2 and GP40-2 are my favorite engines Rich great video anyway its my number 1 favorite.

  • yeppers

  • Beautiful horn! That's what Leslie RS3Ls should sound like!

  • 5 units, 3 prime movers, Total Awesomeness.

    Great Video.

  • Man that IS awesome! Looked like they had an old Seaboard Air Line engine on there! 5***** and Favorite!

  • cool

  • The explanation that I remember at the time of the merger was: "C" stands for Chessie, "S" stands for Seaboard (the two parts of the merger); the "X" came about when some graphic artist intertwined or crossed the two letters.

  • I thought the X stood for multiplication (referring to all the railroads Chessie and Seaboard had merged).

Chessie + Seaboard multiplied is how I have always heard it.

  • I thouhtso too.

  • You don't see that CSX paint scheme much anymore. This video was shot just a few years after Chessie and Seaboard System merged to form CSX.

  • Very nice job!

  • Nice job, and good catch of the ex-D&H GP39!

  • It's a really good location. The NS is on the plate girder bridge.

  • That's a nice S3-LR horn!

  • csx was safe back then,

  • Shenandoah Jct, WV? Cool video..Thanks

  • nice vid
