i have seen strings of this in California, in 2006, 2007, 2008 but only part of '08 i would sit on my break outside and they would float in and stick to the wrought iron fence, each week, i would have to clean the fence, they stuck so bad...no one i have talked to has seen this butme, till now. your images look like what it would if all the ones i saw got together...

it reminds me of fibre spray foam for insulation, it was intended to be an alternative way to insulate roofs, and a replacement for the shredded paper insulation. but it was my understanding it was still in development stages.

It looks like Kapok, it's one of the lightest most buoyant natural fibers, it use to be used in life jackets and stuff.

It's "Tontine". It's used for sound insulation in drywall partitions. It's just blown off a building site somewhere. It's a very light 'nylon' fluff, it comes in bats. this one has started to come apart in the wind. I'm not guessing, i would know it anywhere. I use it everyday.

That link shows a flogo and also, more importantly, how they look when the sun reflects off them.. If you check the sidebar you will find a puma one also which shows similar properties..

What we see in this video is NOT a flogo.

Well it aint a "flogo" (imo) thats for sure.. I hope there can be some more research into this cause its weird looking for sure. Given the lack of humidity in such regions I personally doubt its surfectant foam either (plus if it was I doubt it would react how it does when hitting the fencing).. Just my thoughts..

I believe its some kind of foam, as in air trapped in liquid not a man made material for soft furnishings. in the air as it is low it does have the exact appearance of a cloud but from experience of time on mountains it does not behave like any cloud i have ever 'interacted' with... @EX0MATRlXTV I myself can't say exactly what it is, but this vid has made it's rounds before about a year ago I saw it first and 'morphing' may not be the right word... if it's so odd sort of powerful foaming agent then it would simply be breaking down, degrading... changing shape... my gut feeling is that it's not some anomalous fiber morphing cloud. Being a strange industrial air-born compound or fire retardant seems more realistic... Yet I do believe strange things happen.

Foam of some sort, The suns heat would warm the trapped air and cause it to float up, as parts cool from evaporation and other parts warm it roles and breaks up.

It even leaves residue on fence and ground.

Definatly looks wet anyway.

Its not a cloud. Its essentially a big floating pile of soap suds or something very similar to them which is why it was stopped by the fence. If it was a cloud or a mass of vapor it would have passed through the fence like it wasn't even there. This is not the case.
