This is from the pre-PBS New York TV show "Soul! from February 9, 1972, where Anna Marie-Hosford (Thelma Frye on "Amen" and Dee BAxter on "The Wayan Brothers" got her start as assistant producer). One of the writers of this song was Katherine Anderson Schaffner of The Marvelettes. Another excellent version of this song was done by fellow Marvelette Ann Bogan when she was part of Love, Peace & Happiness (a division of New Birth) along with Leslie & Melvin Wilson (also on YouTube).

Gladys and the Pips are right up at the top of the list of the greatest vocal groups ever. Only a couple of other women have ever had the vocal Soul Power of Gladys, and these days there aren't any. Beyonce? Not even close. On top of it Gladys was so beautiful, both inside and out, that she actually glowed!
