  • so with this, can you replace the 3.5mm cord? Mine is all janky, i have to play with the cord to get the sound to come in both ears.

  • MINE CAME TODAY FROM AMAZON CAN SOMEONE (AN EXPERT) PLEASE TELL ME WHATS FAKE AND WHAT IS REAL???? IVE WATCHED TOO MANY VIDS NOW ON BOTH AND THEY ALL CONTRADICT EACH OTHER AND MY HEAD IS GONNA EXPLODE. MINE LOOK AS REAL AS THEY COME BUT IM HEARING IF THEY DONT HAVE CE ON THEM IF THE PLATES FEEL PLASTIC ETC ETC THE SOUND ON THEM IS REALLY GOOD. SO IF SOMEONE COULD PLEASE JUST TELL ME WHAT STANDS OUT TO PROVE THEY ARE FAKE OR NOT. I WAS HOPING THEY WERE REAL AS THEY WERE FROM AMAZON THEMSELVES THX

  • @DJJENKO

Hi There, Firstly I would recommend not posting in all capitals as it makes you come across as a bit shouty and probably makes people less inclined to help you.

The easiest what to tell if you have real or fake is to remove one of the earpads. The real ones have a disk of foam underneath covering the center of the driver ( check the start of the vid to see how it should look ) the fake ones have no foam disc under the pad

  • @thpeed hi thanks for that. well good news is mine are like the ones in this video of yours :-) the bad news is your video is nealry 2 years old so there is a chance the fake ones now come with a padded disc. i have noticed the fake ones getting better and better with time just by viewing videos on here and seeing what people write for eg the green rings around the jack plugs was once a way of telling but then the fakes came with green rings. the people at the fake factory probably use you tube

  • @DJJENKO ps thanks for your help and great video.sorry about the caps lock thing lol

  • im scared if i do this i ll end up breaking it -___-

  • Im buying the MDR-PQ1 headphone but I need it in purple , orange , and green can you guys do that?

  • I need help, my headphones are broken from the foldable part and this video almost helped...

  • @thpeed May be so bold and request a dismantle video of the SteelSeries 7H ?

  • Good Video had to strip and repair mine after they broke at the swivel point, I live in the UK the number for all the spares for these is Sony Spares 01274 688877 worth noting taking something apart is easy! usually a bit more difficult to reassemble worth noting how the cables run through and take note of what position the cables come off the drivers

  • Wow, thanks for posting this!!!!!

  • @soul4tran

    No Problem....

  • Track, please!

  • Ive had a pair since around 2001 i think it was when i bought em. Never had a problem with them. The only thing that isn't quite the same is the leather has cracked a bit with age, so no big deal. So 10 years on and they still kick ass to this day!

  • hey ive taken my pair apart after they broke, ive repaired a couple of small cracks in the plastic, but the cable running from the L to the R has been getting worn away from the swivels and its chewed partially through it,

can anyone tell me where i can find replacement cable, i tried using some from a shitty pair of headphones but the cable is too thick to fit through all the parts of the headband,

anyone out there know where to get thin cable? single core with earth?

  • @ruaridh I've the same problem.

  • @ruaridh i just discovered the same problem with mine, did u sort it?

  • great video,

where can i see more of the customized ones?

    hola...

  • just so everyone know beats by dr.dre requires batteries so after a year turned from 350 dollar headphones to 400 and so on just a heads up.

  • It is the same processing for all the same type of Headphones ?

  • @MuryaSaga Yep. All the v700 fake and real come apart the same way

  • Fuck these headphone !!! They sound good as fuck but they will break on you everytime. Approximately within a year. I bought these shits 3 times now. $100 each and Sony ain't shit. To repair they are charging you $80. Are you serious ? It always starts out with a minor crack on the earpiece and then develops into a huge crack that can't get fixed. I AM DONE WITH THESE AND NEVER BUYING THEM AGAIN. I will have to find something else now.

  • @allinonethegreat I agree with you. My second pair of these broke last night. Wish Sony would use a better plastic. Anyway, tonight I will use the tips from this video with a bit of superglue and hopefully the combination will work and save me $130.

  • Track list man... PLLLEEEEAAAASSSSEEEE???

  • @DFer96111

The sonys are good value for money and block out more noise. The beats look the nuts but are a little over priced for their performance. If you are looking to spend beats money and are not bothered about looks check out the Sennheiser HD25-1 or aiaiai tma-1 which are both great and v-strong

  • I use to love these headphones but i have broken already 3 pairs in less than 18 months....no bueno they always break from the swivel area too

  • @djtitoluv

Yep a lot of people get that but I know PRO DJs who have had them for 7 years or so I suppose it is how you look after them. The HDJ-1000 have the same problem but the HDJ-2000 and HD25-1 are pretty bulletproof

  • The Sonys as they block out a lot of noise and with the swivel hinges they can be warn in any position but they are not the most durable is you drop them alot. The beats are OK for street use but if you are looking to spend that kind of money I would take a look at the Pioneer HDJ-2000 and sennheiser HD25-1 as they sound better and will last longer

  • Nice beat. What kind of paint do you use on the headphones?

  • @mycamguy

Hi There, When I started out I used enamel ( like humbrol ) as it is cheap enough, easy to get hold of , designed to work on plastics and most of all tough. Now I am using Auto-Bourne custom car paints and a specially formulated clearcoat. But I would stick to the enamel as it does a good job just takes a long time to dry

  • @thpeed Thanks! : D

  • BOOOOOOO!!!! What if you need to change the wire in the headband.Mine is broke and i have to change it without destoying it.

  • @bucplayer6

Pulling the headband apart is v-tricky and not recommended as you have to dismantle the swivel hinges and the whole headband to get the cable out. Which in is self is not too hard but getting it back together is a nightmare. If you email me I can sell you a new headband on the cheep ( use the email address on the customcans.co.uk )

  • i need to repair my headphones -.- the right earphone is silent

  • @selearemus

Use a circuit tester to check the cable. It is normally caused by a break in the cable eather by the jack or in the headband. The jack is easy enough to replace just buy one and solder it on but the headband is trickier.

  • @thpeed i repaired it already

    thanks anyway

  • @selearemus

i have the same problem :(

  • TKS!

  • what is the track?

  • I have these headphones

  • why would you do that !!! ??

  • I respray them for DJs.... But I know what you mean - It still feels weird opening a box fresh pair of expensive headphones and then preceding to pull the apart and sand them down

  • NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO...!!!

  • Great tutorial, but what on earth is that choooooon?!

  • Thenks... The mix is one I did for the movida corona DJ Championship a couple of years ago. It's not perfect but I may have had too much of the free corona they were giving away on the night ;-)
