I got a question.. This shouldn't happen especially if your willing to take a passenger but let's say hypothetically it does.
What if the passenger falls off? Does the rider get sued or what cause I am scared to take someone if this is the case in anyway. However, if this is the case can you get them to sign a warrant or something? I know it sounds bad, but it'd be cool if you could answer this bro!
i really liked this video. ithelped when i started riding with my guy on his ducati. though his seat is alot smaller and lower dow its hard not to shove him forward but best advice i can give is when you are in a turn makesure your chest is completely lined up with his back and you wont lean too much or not enough.count if we are in a deep turn it helps keep me calm also ladies if you are fullfigured make sure you are strong through your legs it helps by reallly squeezing your thighs
Been searching all over google for this information. I rode as a passenger twice so far and I couldn't figure out how to stop sliding forward. These are good tips - thanks so much!
Quick question here, and this may be stupid but whatever. I've only ever riden 1000cc bikes, however I'm looking at getting a gixxer 750/600 or R6. Are these bikes "big" enough to compensate for a passenger? I know my liter bikes were easily able.
@MrThatvideoguy no problem at all, just keep in mind that smaller cc bikes can move more easily than big cc bikes. more nimble . but do talk to the pass. about simple rues if not have already.
Another reason to keep the feet on the pegs is so the legs don't touch the muffler! Common sad plight of many an unsuspecting passenger.
Also, for chrissake, if you're resting the chin of your helmet on the driver's shoulder, make sure to get it out of the way when merging onto freeways, since the driver will need to look back and would rather see the traffic instead of your forehead.
as soon as you said "hang on and don't fall off" I thought of the video how to drop off your girlfriend... and what do ya now, you use it at the end =)
Very good Video man. I'm a saftey officer for a County Motorcycle chapter. Like ive seen in the comments, u did forget keeping feet on pegs ( I know this is common sense to riders, but to others it is not) Also I would see about adding a mounting and dismounting tip guide. Some Passengers do not know how or when to get on or off the bike at the right times. Some people tend to get a little jumpy
Love your videos cause i live in KC so it's cool watch and recognize all of the places you are driving around. Love the R6 but i'm hoping to get a CBR600rr for next summer.
if ur the passenger on the bike th only thing u move is ur head and watch the road for sudden stops keep ur head level with ir butt witch is also level with the bike dont lean ur body only head turn into turn
LoL.. Not to be a douche nozzle but I have to say, not really a briliant pass @ 1 min if the guy in the rather large pickup truck has his blinker out and you slow down and creep beside him. Might get you hurt bad one day, let alone causes driver in the truck to veer over if he needs to get off.
@kessiah44 you are awesome lol but i wouldnt ride on the back of a bike thats just me though i mean if you had your own bike you would ride that and i would ride mine but i wont ride B**ch lol
@kessiah44 In this case I am actually so envious of you, because the same thing happened when i was giving my girlfriend a ride. I was already feeling kinda tight- you know, there - but manageable. Then a cabbie cuts me off, and now my nuts hurt even when I talk about breaking on a bike with a passenger. Ouch O.o
Great video, man! I used to ride passenger before I got my own bike, but I hear my guy friends talk all the time about how some girls know how to ride (passenger) and others don't. And it's so important for passengers to be paying attention to help the rider stay in control of the motorcycle! Especially because another 80-100+ lbs on the bike is gonna make at least some kind of difference in riding. Plain physics.
Im a girl, hi...im petite and have short arms making it hard for me to hold on to the tank. i want to arch my back and lean forward but i don't want to bang into my rider's helmet...i use my knees to grip on to his hips and he suggested i put my hands on his lap sort of, but i dont feel secure, not like im gonna fall off but it feels odd. should i claw into him? :)...any info is greatly appreciated...from anybody...
@pm11237 If your arms are too little to reach the tank, I think holding on to his thighs (the same way you'd be holding on to the tank) is a good idea. You wouldn't claw the tank, so I'm sure you wouldn't be clawing his thighs :)
Hi I go on the back of my bf's sports bike but the seat is really high up and my head is taller than his so I get a lot of the wind forcing my head back which is a little scarey. How do I stop this? by bending down?
@bountyrouge You could try to lean forward a bit more and try to get more of your helmet behind his. Careful not to bash helmets though! I asked my gf what she does and she said that if it's really windy she tries to tuck her head behind mine and towards my back. I'd suggest to keep your head behind his head/shoulder area. If you're going around a turn make sure to put your head and body line behind his and look over the shoulder of the way your turning. Right turn = look over right shoulder
@deyan125 Why yes, yes it would be. Just make sure you both have all the appropriate gear and that you both have taken a safety class. Make sure you're both also wearing eye protection, you wouldn't want to have anything shoot in your eye and make you crash. Be safe!
@deyan125 its hard, usually if your down at the tank the tank blocks her hand or if you sit back up depending on the size of you and your junk she can fit a hand in there but still be very awkward, but if your wearing shorts like i did and she puts your hand down your shorts its still awkward, she cant really go to town with the handjob
yah passenger lean is crazy. I told my passenger to look through the inside shoulder in a turn like pretty much every website says... it's much better if they just glance & sit in-line with you. Because moving their body a lot is crazy.
& yah go over ground rules before. The kid I went with really wanted me to wheelie. Of course I wouldn't have ridden the same way if it was one of the girls I know better. Because they'd just freak out.
Even thou I don't have a motorcycle, my girlfriend said she wouldn't mind taking a ride as a passenger(I am getting a motorcycle...so yea). but usually when I ride as a passenger on my dads bike I usually have my head on the left or right looking over his shoulder so I don't smash my helmet into his head or back.
Great advice, i agree on the staying straight with the bike thing. Maybe also explaining that when the engine sound becomes more high pitch, thats when your gonna shift and it could jolt abit, so to be aware of that.
also... if you are a passenger.. try really hard to not let your head hit the drivers... i hate it soo much when i brake and my passengers head crashes into my.. or when i shift.. just something else to be aware of...... it drive me crazy
good video, the part where a girl shouldnt lean is important, they need to stay straight up and down with the bike and stay in that position. if that happens the bike only feels heavier to the driver, not less stable
Hmm.. You could perhaps get used to these male passengers being close to you by first asking them to rest their hand on your thigh when you're driving a car with them!
When you feel comfortable enough, you ask them to gently massage your thigh and to move his hand closer to your waist.. And the one on the backseat could massage you from behind and later he could nibble your ear and so on!
a little bit? ..when it accelerated I felt like three grown men were trying to push me of the bike.. and I had only one hand to hold on.the cars looked like still cones when we were speeding between them . When we stopped I was all wet! It was my first time as a passenger.
