That's great... and to add, my Great Grandfather was the trainer of Benji the dogs, along with Joe Camp (who worked tirelessly with the animals to train them). I was ten when I pet my first Benji ;) :)

This is adorable. I have 4 of the Benji movies. I also have a house dog named Benji. My Benji looks just like the Benjis in the movies! I love it. And I love my Benji! he is so precious to me. Me and my husband both love our Benji dog like crazy!

I love these movies. About a week ago I found a 2-disc set with 4 of the Benji movies(the 1st and 2nd one, the Christmas special, and Benji Off The Leash) at Wal-Mart for a very cheap price. I must say, the 1st two are the best. Off The Leash is pretty good too. Are the other ones (Oh Heavenly Dog and Benji The Hunted) any good?

The first Benji was awesome, the second Benji was just as good, the third one (Oh Heavenly Dog) was different but good, the fourth (Hunted) was ok and the last one (Benji: Off The leash) was great.

I'm pretty sure the Benji in the first movie is not the same as in the second. They look and sound different.

The first Benji was played by Higgins (remember he played the "dog" in Petticoat junction) But he was 16 years old when he made Benji and was actually pulled out of retirement to do the film. The second Benji movie was played by Higgins daughter "Benji" The current Benji is a Lhasa mix and to me seems to lack the magic of the first two.

Oh god! I love Benji. Even at my age 17, I've been watching it since I was seven. I've seen all four feature films heaps and own Benji: Off The Leash, but these are my rankings (best to worst)

1st: For The Love Of Benji

2nd: Benji: The Hunted

3rd: Benji

4th: Benji: Off The Leash

But I love 'em all!

I think that's because that was the 4th Benji. They are on the 4th one I think. The Benji I always think about is the one that was in For The Love of Benji, when they were in Greece. That is the one I think everyone pictures when they think of Benji the animal actor.

It was so great to see this. I have such fond memories of watching the Benji movies when I was a kid. In fact the first movie I ever saw in a theater was a Benji movie. They were such wholesome stories. Benji forever. Thanks for the memories.

Wonderful! This is a gift. I rediscovered the Benji films a little over a year ago and have seen them all, including the newest one featuring the incredible latest Benji. Family entertainment at its best. Joe Camp is a genius. Be sure to see the full versions on dvd. Looking forward to Benji`s next adventure!
