  • WHAT IS THE NAME OF THE TUNE YOU ARE PLAYING ?

  • only 97dollars,... at this 'special offer price' its not to be missed.... or you could do it for free by hitting the books, playing along with records and other musicians... etc,... and thus 'develope' as a musician... as much as i like the idea , i feel a sales pitch.. is in the offing ,...

  • @electro257 there's certainly a course and a sales pitch, no doubt. But not 97 dollars. A third of that.

  • @hearandplay ... oops yep... offer is for 44 dollars... i still dont like the idea of a website like YouTube being used as a means of profiting via links to your own company website... drop a few hints but you tube isnt a sales channel..

  • @electro257 says who? Youtube certainly doesn't think that. I buy promoted ads, banner ads, in-video ads, text ads. There would be no youtube, or no google if it weren't for advertisers. Free comes from somewhere. And besides, it's all about value. As long as I deliver value, there should be no gripes about exchange. That's a mindset issue. hearandplay has provided value to hundreds of thousands of musicians for last 10 years. Guitar is new but been a this a long time with piano.

  • is that Jay Z on the right?

  • ok that was boring it never went anywhere. I think the playing got lost in the translation.

  • hey, can i play this kind of music on Gibson Les paul? i think the clean sound is similar

  • @UnceBobTouchedMe The Les Paul was made for Jazz.

  • "and now your Local on the 8s..."

  • If i get his training course, wil my music get played on the Weather Channel?

  • can someone tell me where i should begin. i am a rock guitarist who knows a little jazz, i play bossa nova pretty well but now i want to become a great smooth jazz guitarist. i have no idea where to begin, what to study, who to listen too and how to listen to music to absorb what i hear. please give me some tips people. PM me.

  • @mojoefly Theory my friend, theory.

  • @mojoefly Chords and chord structure along with modes are probably your best bet. Get in on the rhythm notation as well, that's what'll put the swing in your lickin'.

  • Guitar is a Hagstrom D2F ...Swedish company name but made in China and now discontinued.

  • what guitar is that?

  • Metronome, please. That's all I'm saying

  • Smooth jazz is not actually jazz. Just a warning.

  • @dannyinternetz How do you define Jazz?

  • @silver10gold Listen to the greats and you'll know. Coltrane, Clifford Brown, Charlie Parker, Miles Davis, Joe Pass, Cannonball, etc.

  • @dannyinternetz Would you call what Miles Davis was playing at the latter end of his career jazz

  • @therockj3000 Probably not, really.

  • @silver10gold Smooth Jazz isn't in free time, and conforms to most of music theory.

  • @dannyinternetz True comment. What they call jazz today is dummbed down.Unfortunate indeed.

  • @dannyinternetz yeah, Smooth Jazz is like dumbed down Jazz in an RnB setting. I still like it some times.

  • @VicRoseMusic nah its the same music theory, just played in a more clean rhythm setting is all.

  • jazz is my middle name! xD

  • you sound great keep up the great work

  • hey your not Norman brown lol

  • He's gettin in the groove! I was dancin to that guitar!

  • Nice to see and hear someone playing melodic guitar without a backing track and covering all the elements (melody, rhythms, and solo lines). Inspiring.

  • Amazing. I love it.

  • Sure thing. Please pay for my ticket.

  • I love his playing in general, but i really dont like his tone in this video.

its too accurate for smooth jazz in my liking. His picking is to hard and stands out to much.

  • False Advertising is False

    Go fuck yourself GTC!

  • @Rg1527 What do you mean by false? What isn't shown?

  • @sunzoo1 I mean there is no magical programme that will make you be able to learn any song ever with

    "easy to learn patterns"

If there was everyone would be using it and it would be world famous.

"instantly play any song on the guitar " is without a doubt the most bogus claim ive ever heard.

Im not a guitar genius or anything like that youll see. What I do know is that it takes years of hard practise to attain such a level of skill and be able to "play anything instantly"

  • i dont see too many black guitaristrs, but when i do, they are so damn good!

  • So much for LEARN huh...

  • before you watch this video say this out loud: And here's your local forecast...

  • played a like a pro

  • I will learn to play jazz.

  • THANKS EVERY1 4 THE CoMMENTS...CHECCK oUT MY CHANNEL...ILL BE HAVING NEW VID'S EVERY WEEK..AND JUST 2 KEEp YALL UpDATED IM CURRENTLY pLAYING 4 NEYo AND LALAH HATHAWAY..FoLLoW ME oN TWITTER

  • Anybody can tab this?

  • @sherradpatterson I'm sick of people asking for tab... Tab is for 12 year olds trying to play AC/DC... Please do yourself a favour and familiarize yourself with sheet music!

  • @fishqwer Or just listen and transcribe by ear.

  • @sweederlander It great to transcribe by ear, but it's also good to first transcribe by ear, but then write it down for further study.

  • @fishqwer I'm sick of people promoting sheet music! Please make it easy on yourself and keep asking for tabs children.

  • @Yesterdayss I really hope you're joking :)

  • @Yesterdayss

    1. other instruments like sax or trumpet cant read tab

    2. Not everyone reads tab

    3. u cant just transpose a "tab sheet"

    4. You cant write accurate rhythms in tab.

    5. no articulation in tab. I could go on and on with this but those are more than enough to challenge "tab music".

and i play bass... i know how to read both sheet music and tabs.

  • @osmarokuma Yeah, so? I do too and I still find tabs to be very helpful. I know tabs are mostly for beginners, but I disagree with your ideas of having to switch to sheet music when you have reached a certain level. You're not an amateur when you can't read sheet music, it has nothing to to with anything.

  • @Yesterdayss provided you stay with hard rock/heavy metal or blues. but being able to play with overally good musicians, or make other people play your compositions, it's a staple thing. the sooner you realise, the better. plus, reading sheet music makes you understand harmony better. you're not gonna need it with kirk hammett solos, but i recommend going beyond that. like check out f.e. guthrie govan. he would KNOW how to write down his improv fo shizzle.

  • @Yesterdayss I would love for you to show up at a gig with that attitude. I would pay to see the reaction, bewilderment, the "fuck offs", and the firing. :)

  • @Yesterdayss Yeah there are tabs and sheet music.. But even though I can read both, I try to use my ear when I can. Training your ear is always the way to go. Tabs are for rockers and sheet music is for classical musicians. If you wanna do this stuff, it's good to know both, but you gotta have good ears.

  • i have that same guitar! very nice!

  • sumpthun wus lackin

  • Oh man. The language of smooth jazz really speaks to me, like nothing else. Time to spend the next month learning something =P

  • @Quincy0047 One more week to go.

  • DAMN!

  • LOL

  • check 0.40 , it just behind his leg.

  • obviously he does, where does the sound come from?F holes don't give that kind of sound.

  • your blind if you cant see that wire

  • nice groove dude

  • I like the way this guy plays.

    Ron

  • so nice ^^

  • almost like take 5

    cool

  • hmm

  • that is so cool!!!

  • yeah i want a guitar like this so much!!! haha they are awesome =D and great sound!

  • ...hmm

    did i learn anything? :D

  • serious talent here. to play something that fast thats also very smooth and emotional

  • You are obviously not aware that I was digging this man not putting him down. When you like something you get in to. I grew upi nthe ghettos of Philly in the 60's. Stank is like saying do it to me more slow groove and I'm in it. Nothing bad here dude just your little mind.

  • No, I definitely was not aware, because your imperative sentence absent of any obvious complements to his playing implies you were dissatisfied with the performance. I don't care where you grew up. Your comment, despite the word "stank" makes it impossible for 99% of the population to perceive that you were actually "in it."The fact that you would expect everyone (most of whom didn't like your comment) to know what you mean without any explanation further proves you are indeed a dumbass.

  • Don't assume so easily. A question about my statement might have lead to a positive discourse. I wasn't aware that all those you do not understand are stupid? No one else made mention of comment being offensive. Peace man!

    "\ // //" Live long and prosper.

  • @JosephIbrahim88 wow your a fucking dick, the guy told you he actually liked to guy, and you still put him down, you need to be dismembered, and burned. scum

  • @JosephIbrahim88 Hey stop being such a whiney douche

  • Dude you got me jamming on my trumpet while listening to this Kool shhhhhhhh!

  • right lol!! i was just jamming on my bass!!

  • This is the music that keeps me playing guitar and gets me up in the morning.

  • dude put up tutorial for remedial players.thnx in advance.

  • Thats what i call jazz guitar! ^_^

  • Wow, that's inspiring. Thank u.

  • god i can hear the lamest backbeat smooth jazz groove over this...

  • @handdancin God: "What can I say, all my critters got a place in the choir."

  • dude! you rock!

  • i like all genres but jazz is always my fav

  • yahh were same... i love jazz....too

  • Dude.... incredible.

  • what kind of guitar is that?

  • That's a Hagstom Deluxe model.

  • That was really nice, I just started getting into Blues but now I like this too very smooth.

  • man...I really like your style, and the lick on :30 to :34 is rippin

  • Reminds me of Hey Arnold. Amazing musician.

  • GZ 5/5

  • These titles are so misleading... I signed up to the website and they are incredible guitarists, but they are not teachers. They play a lick, give you an extremely general tip and zoom past every lesson.

  • Hit the nail on the head there.

  • I mean no harm man but you need to practice before posting anymore videos about teaching anyone. IMHO

  • @troysz But when its all said and done, you wasn't the 16 yr old who played for prince. He was. Keep playin mozee sounding great!!

  • @Dxchops When it is all said and done your comment is irrelevant. Playing for Prince does not make one a smooth jazz guitarist or a qualified guitar teacher. He is a decent rhythm player but he lacks the improvisation skills one would expect of a jazz guitarist.

  • @Dxchops Check out this video for a real example of a smooth jazz guitarist. watch?v=GoPIerCHIGQ

  • shut up lol wat u sed made noooo sense lol

u see his mouth its no even moving

and the best beat boxer out there isnt even black his white and from belgium lmao

    joke

  • who are you calling a lool? I'm no goddamn lool I'm a guitar player I play guitar.... guitar is the instrument that I play because I play guitar

  • oh yeah well your a heterosexual ha take that!!!!

  • switch hetro for bi and u got it right lmao

  • really :P

  • I lol'd. But seriously this is really good.

  • sounds good

  • where theres always the second bloke standing next to him? is he his personal company pet or what?

  • Have a listen to Ed Bickert here on youtube if you want to hear a great jazz guitar player!

  • Nice playing, and very cool Hagstrom guitar...Good luck.

  • That's SWEET!!!

  • Nice chords and scales but his picking is too agressive and harsh.

  • I agree, he should use a lighter gauge or pick lighter...

Actually if you want to pick lightly light gauge picks don't always work, at least for me, they make that really distinct pick attack when you strum, and are generally hard to control... Jazz III's are hard but allow you to pick pretty fucking soft.

You can always use your fingers or you could hybrid pick.......

  • I really enjoyed the knack in the tone he got from picking the notes that way :)

  • that's what I'm talking about!

  • whoa, I'm letting in flies

  • so, so, so, goooood

  • What kind of jazz/ fusion would Ohm: be?

  • I agree that jazz theory takes a quite a bit of understanding to get around, with learning all the different scales, chords and so on, unlike metal, but playing 'metal' can be extremely difficult from a technical point of view, but so can all other forms of music.

There is no real way to determine which is 'harder' unless you get more specific.

  • so yes, basically, if you change chord, you change the scale, that you're representing with that chord.

but still they are all family of eachother:

if you have a chord 1-3-5 in the major scale, which is the I grade in chords,

    and you change the 1 into a lower 7, you get 7-3-5;

which is actually a 1-4-6 in the Locrian mode, the vi grade in chords.

it's really difficult to explain everything in frign 400 charcters :D but I hope I helped you a bit

  • hey there, nice explanation, always been a guitar player and never been in to any theories, but when u explined it i foundout im unerstanding really well but not as neat as u have said!

    thanx.

  • first of all, if you start a song, you choose your first scale, I ii iii IV V vi or vii. These scales have names like I is Ionian, ii is Dorian,... anyhow, the I is actually the major scale, and the vi is aka the minor scale. these seven scales are connected with each other like a circle:

the 2nd note of the I is the 1st of the ii scale, and so is the 1st note of the vi (the minor) the 6th note of the Major (the I scale). so you see, it's a circle of notes and intervals.

  • you have great feel

  • for all retarded musicians who share the opinion of HCSjazzband,

metal can be as difficult and complicated as jazz, as can jazz be as easy and uncomplicated as the most basic forms of blues

  • HAHA NOOB! Im playing guitar and Jazz is freakin multiple times harder then metal or any other music genre, you need a real guitar teacher to learn how to play Jazz in a good way. You can learn Metal from songs pretty easy, it's just Power Chords and Solos

  • Depends on your composition, is not the type of music that makes it hard, is what comes from the inspiration.

  • fcrse, its all bout undrstnding music,if u do understand the theory, its a matter of little practice

u have to undrstnd the 1st scale:the major, n with it the 6 other scales, whch r connected with the major.Scales have 8 notes, n they r like a set of rules you define before you start 'your game'.

then u hve 2 undrstand that with every one of these 7 scales, comes a chord, a build-up of notes that represent a certain scale

if u know all this, u'll hve a much bigger insight over your fretboard...

  • very nice, much thanks.

  • cool man reallly cool....Craig

  • To everyone who maybe wants to see which chords he's playing.. I did submit a detailed description in a comment about 7 months ago!

    (comment page 5)

Hope my work was at least useful to somebody

  • What guitar is that?

  • It's a Hagstrom D2F.

  • you know what i love about bein black ....its playing a bass guitar... took me like 3 months to get semi pro at it ....guess its genetic

  • then it would be genetic to everyone

  • thats nothing I played like a pro like ten minutes after I picked it up,SERIOUSLY!!

  • love the tone

  • Its so cool ^^ i wanna learn this style.

  • Not much of my jazz playing so far, haven't gotten around to do it.

  • cude u get tabs for this?

    sounds amazing

  • you just have to learn how to improvise jazz, practice, practice. Get an ear for the exotic keys in jazz and you will eventually be good enough to learn this inprovisation.

  • You say "just have to learn how to improvise jazz" like it's easy

  • Well I am not even half as good as this guy but I know that with practice, someday I will, I have been teaching myself for the last few weeks. You just need to be confident in your abilites

  • Exotic keys, lol. There's only 2 keys.

  • out of the 12 keys which are exotic?

  • The ones that are not played quite as much as the other ones, I guess i meant exotic styles rather than keys, or at least styles and keys together.

  • i get you. why cant scales, modes, keys, perfect pitch and the understanding of them all come pre-installed in our brains lol so much to learn!

  • Lol, maybe some day humans will evolve with all of thses things coming naturally XD

  • that would be very nice. cant it happen now? godamit

  • I don't know about exotic, but according to Nigel of Spinal Tap, d minor is the saddest of all keys.

  • Mad props, i like the groove, i'm the son of guitar player Jan Akkerman (Walingh Akkerman), props from the netherlands keep it up

  • nice riffin bro!

  • you play Very smooth... I like that...
